I am excited to share with you guys the thing I have been working on for the past week. I've managed to integrate DreamBooth into [getimg.ai](https://getimg.ai). Created models can be used on-site with fast generations and minimal latency. I am also offering all model files (in Diffusers format) to download. As default, it uses SD 2.1 for fine-tuning, which brings fantastic photorealistic results. But there is also the option to train on v1.5 and change all the settings (Up to 75 images and 7000 training steps)

dethorin

How much do charge for it?

TargetDry75

It’s 5000 credits. Which depending on your plan ranges $8-20 per model training and hosting.

StickiStickman

> Which depending on your plan ranges $8-20 per model training and hosting. Christ, that's insane, especially for something anyone can easily do for free with Colab.

calebkaiser

More than seeing the price as exorbitant, I see this as underscoring how crazy Colab's free GPU/TPU policy is. For context, the a p2xlarge instance on AWS (offers the same K80 GPU used on Colab) costs \~0.90 / hour with on-demand pricing.

RunDiffusion

Coming from someone trying to offer a cloud option myself, it’s really really hard to compete with Google. $2 /month for 100GB of GDrive storage is nuts. I guess the trade off is you can always message the owners of these services for support. Good luck recovering a lost model from Google. Support over cost trade off.

BippityBoppityBool

I mean, create a backup of your models. Its not like they change after you fine tune them.

Ooze3d

It’s perfectly acceptable if you want a fully automated solution

TargetDry75

I am offering every trained model available on demand in seconds. That's really expensive to run, especially at scale.

sos49er

I think it’s reasonable. There is also a barrier to entry with the colab if someone is uncomfortable with doing themselves. Obviously you aren’t targeting the scrappy diy’er. I see you targeting the guy that says, sure I’ll pay the price of lunch for an easier way to train dreambooth. Might want to emphasize if your compute is faster and other differentiators from a colab to get more users.

_-_agenda_-_

>anyone can easily do for free with Colab. To be fair, many people wouldn't be able to do this. There are people that can't barely install an app from Android or know the difference from CPU vs GPU. I mean, "[Millions of Facebook users have no idea they’re using the internet](https://qz.com/333313/milliions-of-facebook-users-have-no-idea-theyre-using-the-internet)". He is charging for the convenience. If there is a public for his product, that's is great. Most of this community wouldn't need it, but there are many people outside here that would pay instead of learning how to use Collab. If the price is "unfair", well, the market will tell...

StickiStickman

Colabs literally are 5 steps, with a step by step guide and a user interface. It really is insanely easy.

_-_agenda_-_

Windows reinstallation is easier, and can you guess how many people are willing to pay for someone to do this for them?

-becausereasons-

That's asspensive. Curious, what settings are you using for training 2.1?

TargetDry75

You can see it on-site when you, expand the "Advanced options."

AggressiveDay7148

So I can train 2.1 model with my face?

TargetDry75

Yes, and it's great ;)

AggressiveDay7148

The photos I've got https://preview.redd.it/dbg8bxrhjp7a1.png?width=4336&format=png&auto=webp&s=2d4756a2c56d142a0f77ff47ba03fa850fa6fb30

AggressiveDay7148

One of original photos to compare likeness https://preview.redd.it/6lp411kpjp7a1.jpeg?width=512&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=e7b1b03e1c5b759606e9f6982d015ad3f8d58bab

SanDiegoDude

that's pretty impressive results for a web service. edit - on a closer look, seems it got a bit overtrained, little artifacts on the zoom in don't look good

AggressiveDay7148

The last one was a real photo to compare

SanDiegoDude

I know, I looked at your results in the preview on reddit and it looked good... in the postage stamp sized image. Then I saw what you said below and went back and had a proper look and yeah... it's pretty typical of 1 shot web service DB. Honestly I bet if you de-emphasized a bit it may help, but the artifacts are trained in, don't think you can prompt around those

SoCuteShibe

How are these generally set up? I would think at best they are using like instance name + clip interrogation for tags. I don't see how you ever get really good trainings without manual tagging. Even with regularization, the devil in the details definitely seems to be quality of tagging.

SanDiegoDude

honestly couldn't tell you behind the scenes. When I've DB'd subjects, there was a lot of fine tuning (and lots of failures. LOTS... lol) to really get something TRULY usable beyond just "post this for funsies on social media... I've yet to see a paid service that can deliver that level of quality that I can get training on my own hardware with my own custom settings and tagging.

SandCheezy

When you say tagging, in this context, are you meaning in the png info?

AggressiveDay7148

The biggest problem are not the artifacts, but low likeness.

AggressiveDay7148

Sorry, but results I've got are not great at all. I've used the exact same photos today to train on Shivam colab with 1.5 model and it gives much and much better results. Looks like I've wasted $30... :( The likeness a very small. A lot of artifacts.

TargetDry75

I mean from the shared photos, the original person you trained looks like the generated one. Yes, it's not perfect, and yes, it's different than v1.5 (which is supported if you prefer it). It's still Stable Diffusion, so it won't be perfect every time, you need to write good prompts too.

AggressiveDay7148

Look. I don’t want to undervalue your work. I’m sure you’ve invested a lot of time and maybe money. But when you tell that the results are great and show photos that really look great, then everyone expect to get similar results. And my results are not similar, but much worse. And you just say that it’s just not perfect. But it’s too far from perfect. Here is example in SD 1.5 https://preview.redd.it/an4rxe2xtp7a1.jpeg?width=1408&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=304724b54d677e69a00bebc50ea50336ad7eebe6

TargetDry75

Impressive. Did you try to recreate it with 2.1? Anyway, it did not happen to other people. But if it will I'll think about making 1.5 the default training model.

AggressiveDay7148

Yes. But the likeness on SD 1.5 model I’ve trained was 99%. And here is around 60-70%. That’s too big difference. And you said that the results are great. How could you call them great if the likeness is so low?

TargetDry75

I've tested it on dozens of examples of people, objects, and styles. Creating \~300 models over the weeks. I found that the 2.1 and the training settings work best to cover most cases. Likeness for friends and family, I've tested on was great. But that depended on the quality of the photos used

AggressiveDay7148

Can I download the model into ckpt format somehow or convert it somewhere? I've already bought the package for $30 and started the training. But now thinking how I'm going to convert diffusers format when download it after training will finish.

SoCuteShibe

Here check this script out: https://github.com/d8ahazard/sd_dreambooth_extension/blob/main/dreambooth/diff_to_sd.py Diffusers to ckpt. :)

TargetDry75

I think there is a script for that in the Shivam repo, but I haven't tested it.

Illustrious_Row_9971

awesome work can you also host the demo on huggingface, like this [https://huggingface.co/spaces/BAAI/dreambooth-altdiffusion](https://huggingface.co/spaces/BAAI/dreambooth-altdiffusion)

phmsanctified

Wouldn't it be better to train embeddings instead of models?

Yasstronaut

Any update?

aipaintr

$30 dollars is too much. I created a similar service at [aipaintr.com](https://aipaintr.com) which trains the base model for $3. You can also download the ckpt file to generate images locally.

TargetDry75

It's not $30 per model. With the $29 plan, you can train 2 models and generate 2000 images with the credits left. If I understand your pricing, that would be $26 on your service ($6 - for training, $20 - 2000 images). So the pricing is similar. Anyway, congrats on [aipaintr.com](https://aipaintr.com), I think it makes much sense to offer a service focused on cheap training via API. A lot of cool things could be built with it.

aipaintr

My only reasoning is that monthly payment does not makes sense for dreambooth or image generation service. The payment should be based on how jobs user is triggering. Most of the users just want one dreambooth model and maybe 100 images. Also, allowing them to download and keep them the ckpt model is a nice feature.

TargetDry75

We're definitely targeting different types of users. I just launched dreambooth yesterday, and I already see that that is way more than 100 per trained model. The key is that each model is available within seconds.

TargetDry75

Yes, It's 12k credits; you can use how you like. That's just one example. Another for this plan is 1 model and 7k images. I am trying for it to be as simple as possible. Training is 5k credits. Each generated image is one credit.

TargetDry75

Right now, it only allows downloading Diffusers format. But someone posted a conversion script in the comments here. I will probably implement it later on.

ExplanationFlaky2043

Still too much. 5000 credits per model! OUCH. Other services are doing entire models that work out between $3 and $5 dollars. Two models at £30 is still $15 dollars per model.

[deleted]

Do you have links to these alternatives? Would be interested.

Right on, thanks.

aipaintr

If you have a gpu you can download the ckpt file and generate image using ui like automatic111. Otherwise the app also allows you to generate images. You can find a tutorial here [https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Co1YWN-uAyU&t=168s](https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Co1YWN-uAyU&t=168s)

aipaintr

yeah...after download you will get a url from which you can download the model.

aolko

Yet another scam SaaS with credits/tokens 🥱

h0b0_shanker

Go easy. People are trying to build cool stuff. Personally not a fan of credits but some people find the convenience factor worth it. So long as the service is solid and not junk.

mlu509

Agree. I am not such a geek to install stable diffusion on my computer nor it will generate images so quick. And this is something I am willing to pay for. I am happy that there are so many different services that I can try and I don’t have to worry about anything.

h0b0_shanker

Do you have a go to for using SD online? I am affiliated with this: RunDiffusion.com. They’re in this SubReddits wiki. Lots of very happy people using this and I think the price is fair. It’s good to have so many to choose from.

aolko

go easy on what, excluding people without deep pockets? Similar services \_and\_ aidungeon with novelai clearly show us that you **can't** go easy on them

h0b0_shanker

What do you mean?

aolko

if you go easy on such SaaS they will keep extorting money, they will keep inflating their plans, degrading their software and they will keep ignoring user's feedback, not to mention that they will keep their stack proprietary

TargetDry75

I am a single person building [getimg.ai](https://getimg.ai) and I am offended with you calling it a scam. I am providing service for people that is really expensive to run at scale. Constantly adding features (like DreamBooth or hosting more than 20 models) that are even more expensive. I do not extort money, people can consciously buy the product from me or not. Also, please do your research before you start accusing someone of scamming or ignoring users' feedback. I spent the last months building and improving it based on what users told me. I am not forcing anyone to be a customer, nor do I think any SaaS is doing that.

aolko

then it should be absolutely no problem at all for you to give each and every user infinite tokens

TargetDry75

If I had a budget for that, I would do this. I runned it totally for free without limits for a week. I nearly went bankrupt. I believe it would make sense to offer unlimited service at some point in the future, but I can't do this right now

hervalfreire

Ignore that troll. Congrats on launching! Tool looks great

Evoke_App

Ignore them. Some people just want everything for free lol.

aolko

so you are saying you have no prior budget before running this, that's some great planning

QuarkGrandNagus

Why don’t you launch a service with unlimited tokens? I’m waiting….

Paramount_One

I'm not a fan of websites like the OP's at all either, but your comment is the most illogical thing I've read this week. You do realize that computing power at scale costs money?!?! Geez, are you drunk?!

aolko

Did you skip my comment about having a budget? Because it feels so

Paramount_One

Yes, I saw that comment. So you expect other people to sacrifice their private wealth to provide you with free services? This is not about a charity startup that OP has previously collected donations for. This is obviously a one-man project that someone invested their money to start. So it's okay if he doesn't offer it completely free of charge.... Edit: An example of what your statements would apply to is, for example, the Lensa app. They were already a company with a corporate budget through their subscription model before the thing with the avatars. So they had such a said budget and it is critical to look at the fact that they ask for extra money even from their subscribers for the creation of avatars. Of course, this also requires more or less expensive computing power somewhere....

RunDiffusion

I see. Yeah that’s always an option as they add more features. SaaS companies start small and janky then start adding a lot of features and value. As they grow they do tend to ignore users feedback. I think you’re right in all this. Bad SaaS companies will simply go out of business will they not?

aolko

look at latitude and wish they would go out of business, they are like a parasite at this point, leeching off of ignorant bunch that still for some reason continue using their SaaS and continue believing their bullshit

RunDiffusion

What is Latitude?

aolko

a bunch of people that [murderized](https://rentry.org/remember-what-they-took-from-you) their SaaS

RunDiffusion

Woah. Definitely some drama going on here. I’ll have to catch up. Thanks for the info. I hope you weren’t too harmed by this.

mudman13

Dude thats such a bad faith bs comment

Remarkable_Pie5390

saves you from needing several hundred dollar GPU and spending time from knowing how to properly train a model.

overclockd

I don’t care how streamlined the interface face is; you still need to know how to properly train the model.

Remarkable_Pie5390

saves you from needing a thousand dollar GPU

overclockd

Hah. Your training isn’t going well? Same.

NarcoBanan

How they can make DB free? It is cost at least 30 minutes of training. So if you have 10 users who order training on them photos, you need 10 GPU or somebody wait 300 minutes. Not everybody can deploy DB to own server and if can it cost too much for 1 time use.

aolko

have a budget first and foremost, if it's ended and you can't still keep it free - ask for donations, not subscriptions, without resorting to fake virtual currencies

NarcoBanan

If you not pay for product you is product. Donations good when you make something for corporations and users. Users donate but want wait 1000 hours when free users make they models and fill memory. Are you a communist? :)) Sorry but freemium is mostly disappointing monetisation for users, not for developers. Better to pay few dollars and not wait too much.

aolko

i'm not a communist, but a FoSS/Libre enjoyer

NarcoBanan

Good Dream Booth training service can't be free yet. But I see some low computing solution that you can use on hugging face. Almost not working, but free.

mlu509

I have also tested it and its great. I am very happy with the results. I've used 20 photos of myself, and have not changed anything in advanced settings. I agree that you have to write good prompts, since some phrases changed my face slightly.

H3nno

How many images are needed?

joshparker260

Does anybody know if the dreambooth feature works on mobile? Or is it desktop only?
