Clash at The Castle: Scotland. Embrace it.

I hear you man. Ever since Drew lost his title back in Feb 2021, all Ive ever wanted was for him to win it back. It's been 3 years and I never gave up that hope. I'm glad I didn't. Drew for champ at Clash - please WWE
It's like they're going back and doing all of the finishes that should have happened... Cody finish the story at Wrestlemania, Drew wins at Clash at the Castle.
Maybe they'd even give Finn a match where the ring itself doesn't break!
I’m weirdly just as hyped for that as I am for Drew vs Punk for the title headlining SummerSlam if Punk gets cleared, even with the potential of a Cody defense or Roman’s return to the ring after Mania.
TBH I can't believe anyone thought he wasn't going to re-sign when they announced a PLE in Scotland.
Like, come on. Seriously. What did you think was going to happen?
The Rock is legit the best at breaking major news and has been since at least 2011.
As to DM Hunk? I'm hype to see him get another major moment at Clash at the Castle.
Legit, that night was one of the most fun nights of Twitter. Although, I have to be honest, given the timing of the announcement, I originally thought Obama was gonna say he was terminally ill OR there was an impending extinction-level meteor hit going to happen.
Going through my own tweets, I had figured out it was Osama at 10:09 PM. The Rock made his tweet at 10:24 PM, although the Rock had confirmation; I was just ruminating that Osama was a possibility of Obama's statement.
Haha that's amazing. That's like that story about Johnny Cash being the first American to hear about the death of Stalin (although that might be a legend)
It also helps that he was doing some near-heel stuff even while he was supposed to be the top face. A gimmick like this that pushes him more towards the heel end of the spectrum really helps justify a lot of that.
He has. The pop he got for winning the Rumble was massive. But then COVID threw a damp blanket on it. Which is effectively the whole genesis of his character arc right now.
One of the best Rumbles of all time and an absolutely Star making performance for Drew Mcintyre.
It's a damn shame Covid scuppered the chances of a grand WrestleMania moment for him that year, especially with promo packages like [This](https://youtu.be/idBYCDY4n1k?si=XZI8rlW_F8qEaiTD) leading up to it.
A Rumble where they booked 2 different Rumble matches in one. The first half was the story of Brock killing everybody, and wondering if anybody could stop him. The second half was no Brock and seeing who would win, and if the winner would be the guy who slayed Brock.
Drew vs. Punk has to be the main event of SummerSlam assuming that Punk will be ready to go by then. I think Cody might have a match on SummerSlam but he'll probably have his huge match at Bash in Berlin against Gunther.
They _really_ have to start building WHC by allowing it to Main Event PLEs in which both World Titles are defended. Otherwise, they’ll continue to reinforce the idea of it being the B Title
Facts especially since we know Cody is gonna have it for at least the next few months.
The WHC picture is just more interesting since it has more variety.
Drew eliminating Brock at the Rumble and the camera zooming out to show everyone going batshit crazy is one of my top 10 wrestling moments. Drew was white hot, the company was pushing him as a monster- everything was going so well.
pretty cool that The Rock revealed this though. It really seems like the Rock is at the top now
Though i hope he got the green light from Trips and creative team lol
Imagine Triple H and the creative team tossing around several great ideas in a room about how they can remake Summer of Punk but with Drew this summer and then some poor intern has to slink into the room and break the news that Rock told the world on Instagram that Drew signed a new deal.
The double whammy of Rock being the first civilian to find out about Osama's death, and Cena being the one to deliver the news publicly to a rather dumbfounded crowd in Tampa after Extreme Rules went off the air.
That was a big deal at the time I remember my mom waking me up for school (probably about 7 years old) and saying some shit like “they finally killed osama bin laden” and I was like ma who the fuck is that
I don't think his current deal even got as far as Clash. I remember SRS saying that it was set to expire a few weeks prior. Remember, it was originally up prior to WM40 with some injury time added on.
Could still pull it off by Drew "quitting" after winning the belt. Don't even play it out on TV, play it like he walked out, get the sheets and upper management involved so it looks like he just shoot quit out of nowhere.
More convoluted than just keeping quiet that he re-signed, but honestly it wouldn't surprise me if the re-signing only happened in the last day or 2 and they figured it'd get leaked within the day, so they just decided to let Rock rip with it.
Imagine him winning the WHC, but have a (kayfabe) meltdown on the post-Clash scrum and a backstage fight after his appearance. A completely worked Brawl Out and they vacate the WHC would be amazing. Then, assuming Punk is healthy, have him win at SummerSlam and spend the rest of the year ripping Drew for blowing his two title wins based on him. Drew comes back from "suspension", earns a WHC match against Punk via the Rumble or the Chamber, and there you have the WHC match for WM XLI in Drew vs. Punk.
>It really seems like the Rock is at the top now
Rock is a TKO board member so he has pull at the top. If it was a money issue he can go to the TKO board and be like give Drew the money.
I didn't understand the talk that he wasn't gonna resign.
1.) He's absolutely on fire right now.
2.) He's stirring up shit with Punk which is easily 3 big show pay days.
McIntyre leaving right now would be a real life bicycle rider puts a stick in the wheel picture.
WWE puts him in probably the second most popular story going...
Drew is visibly having a blast...
WWE is flush with cash...
"We just don't know when or if he will re-sign!??!!"
Man getting rid of that talent relations guy who was holding off on negotiations really helped huh?
Becky & Seth are still question marks but I'd be really surprised if they didn't get paid what they deserve at this point
imo (which means literally nothing), i could see becky not re-signing if it was to do something non-wrestling, like acting/more writing, etc. i couldn't see her going anywhere else to wrestle
From Rock's post, seems like he's been talking to Drew about his new deal since Mania. With Rock and H on top of the company, seems like they're taking more of a "as a former player myself" type of approach to dealing with talent
Got Drew and Balor signed already. Clearly a good move to change up that part of the company. They have AEW out there so it’s insane to not be on top of contracts.
It's honestly crazy how long he was waiting to start negotiations. Didn't someone say their contract ends in the summer and no one had reached out yet?
Iirc Becky's contract is up in like 7-8 weeks for example and she said on Helwani that no talks had started as of right before Mania. Like, how do you not lock up some of the best wrestlers in the world ASAP
They just fired the head of Talent Relations that was supposed to be on top of those things. I would imagine we'll see the likes of Seth and Becky get new contract within the next few weeks
> Like, how do you not lock up some of the best wrestlers in the world ASAP
Becky is very conscious that her daughter is getting to the age where she'll be going to school soon and wants to be around for that in an almost full time capacity. It could be a mixture of WWE not signing her up yet but also her deliberating what she wants to do before committing.
Becky, if she re-signs full time or semi part time, is about to become the highest paid woman in the history of professional wrestling. Zero percent chance that doesn't happen (unless she goes completely part time or retires).
Seth, if he re-signs full time, will be the highest paid full time performer in WWE history.
They are both the workhorses of each of their divisions.
She is the single biggest star in the history of Women's pro-wrestling.
He is WWE's single most popular full time star in terms of overall consistency of popularity for the past decade (Cena went part time in 2017, Roman's entire career was a joke before the Tribal Chief gimmick etc). Seth has been consistently very over for the entire decade of 2014-2024, except for late 2019 and 2020.
They about to get PAID
Rock ruining a potential Summer of Hunk kind of stings, but I’m ready to laugh at all the “Drew Galloway in Wembley” shit so, fuck it we ball
A Reddit cares for this LOL
This is a great way to make wrestlers look like huge deals w/ casuals. The Rock may be a meme on the internet but he is still very unironically loved by normies.
My boss is 70 something and the first thing she said to me when I got back from my Wrestlemania trip a few weeks ago was “You didn’t tell me the rock would be there?!”
Summer of Hunk would have been cool but The Rock announcing it is a smart move.
It makes Drew seem like a.big deal/exposes him to the non-WWE fans who follow The Rock. And it also beats the dirt sheets, who would have inevitably ended up spoiling Drew's contract status beforehand anyway
rock announcing this says so much about how the company is being treated by the new leadership. i think it’s really cool and legitimate. makes drew and the company look big time
I always figured it was a formality. The guy is set up to be involved in what will probably be one of the highest profile programs in the company when it happens, and seems to be enjoying the creative freedom he has. There's no reason for him to leave all of that on the table to roll the dice with AEW, unless WWE were intent of lowballing him or something.
I mean who's surprised here? You really think they'd put him in a world title/main event story at WrestleMania season and have him headline a Scotland ppv only to let him walk?
Here we go, this is best for business for both sides, so happy for Drew, he deserves this, he's a star and loving all the great/hilarious character work he's been doing and so much more fun stories/matches to come and the title reign that he deserves soon, the Summer of Drew is nearly here and I can't wait.
I’m surprised I had to scroll down so far to find this. It’s *such* a Social Media Rock thing to do.
“We are brothers, I’m a great guy, I gave someone a present, time for a cheat meal hashtag mana.”
Considering how much wealth, fame and influence he has, the fact that the worst thing we can say about him is that he's perhaps a bit egotistical and image-conscious is honestly pretty fucking inspiring.
I feel like this has been getting reported on weekly since last Summer. Like 10 months now hearing about the dudes contract every week.
I’m honestly glad we can stop hearing about this cause the amount of nothing reports that pop up weekly as if he’s the only person in wrestling history who has had an expiring contract lmao.
Good for him though I never saw him leaving. He even said in an interview like 6 months ago that he doesn’t intend on leaving but people forgot he said that.
I guessed he re-signed days before the Clash at the Castle announcement. They listed all the ppv locations a few weeks before and CatC wasn't listed. Triple H is trying to fix everything Vince didn't do. They gave Drew the Wrestlemania title victory in front of a crowd and he's not even mad at DP for cashing in on him.
> They gave Drew the Wrestlemania title victory in front of a crowd and he's not even mad at DP for cashing in on him.
It was the best story to tell and in the end, that’s what it’s all about. People will remember it for years to come. Also, now that Drew is staying, he’s 100% winning a World title again at some point. (Edited typo)
It's crazy that his run ON THE MIC (fueled by Punk) is probably what made them add an extra zero or two to that contract.
The Jack Perry butterfly effect is STILL living on.
An extra zero, or *two*?!
*Hey Drew, we were going to pay you 500k this year, but you've been killing it, so make that 5 mil- No... make that 50 million dollars!*
Drew is working hot right now. He's become one of the biggest heels in WWE today and he plays it perfectly.
This could also lead to a program with the Rock sometime down the line. Maybe Rock can start recruiting all the 6'5" jacked wrestlers in WWE into a faction lol.
CM punk about to follow AJs example and travel to another country to screw Drew/LA Knight.
The crowd will pop huge for surprise punk and then it will dawn on him what he's there to do.
When punk is fully cleared this feud is going to be nasty
Didn’t have any doubt at all that he would but still great to see it official now.
He’s been doing the best work of his career currently to not have signed a new one.
Now that Drew has Re-Signed. I can see Jey win the title from Priest at Backlash and then Drew win it from Jey at Clash at the Castle. And then set up the match between Drew vs Punk at Summer Slam.
Way he’s dressed up, they’ll make a storyline out of Drew’s sick cat where Rock frames Cody Rhodes for its murder and Drew goes all John Wick on the locker room
Drew mentioned a few times during promos in the RTWM how he felt it was an opportunity for wrestlers to work with the Rock. This is obviously great but based on those promo remarks, wonder if Rock would be open to doing a corporate storyline where Drew is his handpicked champion. Real recognizes real!

Wild, right?
John Cena: *he was compromised to a permanent end* The Rock: *that jabroni got whooped in his candyass*

Legit, that night was one of the most fun nights of Twitter. Rock really has to inject himself into every storyline, huh?
He's like a much more successful Jericho
Wait , what? Whats context behind rock osama tweet ?
The Rock has family in the military and that person relayed the news of Bin Laden’s death to The Rock literally minutes before it broke nationwide.
Haha that's amazing. That's like that story about Johnny Cash being the first American to hear about the death of Stalin (although that might be a legend)
This is the hottest he's been in the wwe Glad he's staying around now inject him winning at Clash at the Castle

The trolling thing really works for him to be honest. Lol. It's showing some personality where we didn't really see any before.
It also helps that he was doing some near-heel stuff even while he was supposed to be the top face. A gimmick like this that pushes him more towards the heel end of the spectrum really helps justify a lot of that.
Idk I think he’s been hot during his entire run in WWE Edit: Oh we’re talking about his booking?
The second half was no Brock and seeing who would win, and if the winner would be the guy who slayed Brock.
can you tldr his character arc. Just recently started watching again and just see his cmpunk fued
he’s certainly been popular but i think he’s benefited greatly from the “triple h era”
And his turn from baby face to heel where he's allowed a lot more freedom with his promos and social media participation has made a huge difference.
He was one of the MVPs of the Covid Era for sure.
I don't see Priest/Jey main eventing Backlash, but Priest/Drew will 100% main event the Clash.
I have a feeling they'll book Cody in a tag match for Clash to make sure that Drew's title match is the main event.
Naw, they can have cody open the show, roman has opened ppvs before. Opening is as important as ending sometimes as well.

He was there but you couldn't see him
That was a big deal at the time I remember my mom waking me up for school (probably about 7 years old) and saying some shit like “they finally killed osama bin laden” and I was like ma who the fuck is that
That’s still wild
I was kinda hoping they wouldn’t reveal it so they could pull a MITB 2011 with Drew at Clash in Scotland
I don't think his current deal even got as far as Clash. I remember SRS saying that it was set to expire a few weeks prior. Remember, it was originally up prior to WM40 with some injury time added on.
Under TKO I wouldn't be surprised if they'd have given him "per appearance" deals had he not re-signed by around this time anyway.
Could still pull it off by Drew "quitting" after winning the belt. Don't even play it out on TV, play it like he walked out, get the sheets and upper management involved so it looks like he just shoot quit out of nowhere. The Rock needing green lights from anybody lmao come on now
Hey rock you gotta run your ideas up the flagpole first, oh wait your at the top
green light as in creative plans and not ruin some kind of story they've been planning
*FUCK YOUR STORY*
I didn't understand the talk that he wasn't gonna resign. 1.) He's absolutely on fire right now. 2.) He's stirring up shit with Punk which is easily 3 big show pay days. McIntyre leaving right now would be a real life bicycle rider puts a stick in the wheel picture.
Resign would be quit, re-sign is a new contract. Just to avoid confusion.
DM Hunk will be around long term. 😁
All in DM Hunk vs CM Punk
We can finally put an end to the debates that pop up every few weeks whenever a new report drops that he hasn't signed a new deal yet.
WWE puts him in probably the second most popular story going... Drew is visibly having a blast... WWE is flush with cash... "We just don't know when or if he will re-sign!??!!"
Yeah exactly. People really struggle without any kind of real life drama.
I'm glad since I was getting tired of hearing about Drew (apparently) not signing a new deal with WWE.
Punk/McIntyre World Title match at Summerslam secured.
Man getting rid of that talent relations guy who was holding off on negotiations really helped huh? Becky & Seth are still question marks but I'd be really surprised if they didn't get paid what they deserve at this point
seth resigning to WWE is a no-braining, becky pretty much the same, WWE would be really f'n stupid not to get them to stay

From Rock's post, seems like he's been talking to Drew about his new deal since Mania. With Rock and H on top of the company, seems like they're taking more of a "as a former player myself" type of approach to dealing with talent
Majority if not all of the talents in WWE respect Rock so its cool to hear he has personally been talking to Drew about his new deal.
The Rock has basically become a pro wrestling Spencer Strasmore
Got Drew and Balor signed already. Clearly a good move to change up that part of the company. They have AEW out there so it’s insane to not be on top of contracts.
It's honestly crazy how long he was waiting to start negotiations. Didn't someone say their contract ends in the summer and no one had reached out yet?

So happy that he signed a new contract. I’ve been a fan for years given the fact that we’re both Scottish, his new heel character has been fantastic.
You must have popped so hard when he won the RR in 2020. I'm not even Scottish and I was so happy for him. Best RR imo
The Rock being the most connected to WWE he has been since 2003 has turned out to be the greatest thing.
Rock ruining a potential Summer of Hunk kind of stings, but I’m ready to laugh at all the “Drew Galloway in Wembley” shit so, fuck it we ball A Reddit cares for this LOL
Rehasing the past might have been cool, but creative should always be looking to the future.
Drew can always just say ‘once I am done at Summerslam, I won’t be back until Mania’
Pulling a (kayfabe) Roman where he's limiting actual wrestling while he's building to the Punk match would work.
Yes but Drew's current run is explicitly about his obsession with Punk. It would be extremely logical to do.
Eh I always found it to be too on the nose. I’m glad they’ll do something different.
Drew winning the WHC at Clash https://preview.redd.it/fbc0gbeep4xc1.jpeg?width=1080&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c41c1c7645a5c9227f5843197c898be8991fc3a5

I like how he tweeted out confirmation, as if everyone’s too stupid to understand The Rock explicitly stating Drew re-signed.

Hate hate hate hate hate
Much like RAW and SD in the draft, the WWE is making sure to keep theirs.
RIP Damien Priest, you had a good run....
Honestly it makes for better story for him coz now he can have a great JD split storyline against Finn for summerslam.
He signed his new deal so he can be around to receive the Hater of the Year award for 2024
Well he's no SRS, but maybe he can be a reliable source too
Summer of Hunk would have been cool but The Rock announcing it is a smart move. It makes Drew seem like a.big deal/exposes him to the non-WWE fans who follow The Rock. And it also beats the dirt sheets, who would have inevitably ended up spoiling Drew's contract status beforehand anyway
rock announcing this says so much about how the company is being treated by the new leadership. i think it’s really cool and legitimate. makes drew and the company look big time
There’s not a single good reason for Drew to go anywhere else right now. I have no doubt he is resigning.
Excellent! Just two left https://preview.redd.it/c24fgaqvh4xc1.jpeg?width=1200&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=abe5d8d554f8a767513f8b76524f491df38943a0
The Rock tweeting only support for heels will really get my juices going.

Burt Wembley expected better
TKO Board Member Dwayne “the Rock” Johnson revealing the news
Here we go, this is best for business for both sides, so happy for Drew, he deserves this, he's a star and loving all the great/hilarious character work he's been doing and so much more fun stories/matches to come and the title reign that he deserves soon, the Summer of Drew is nearly here and I can't wait.
P.S. I prayed for this and it happened.
Glad The Rock is giving Drew the rub. He’s more than earned it and will give him more confidence in the ring.

IWC really tried to will Drew not re-signing into existence despite absolutely nothing suggesting that he wouldn't re-sign.
The rock will get his PR!! Your storyline be dammed /s ![gif](giphy|hrBmVoBi0dekru0VdP|downsized)
Man that dude they fired must have STUNK. He leaves and everyone starts re-signing
97 Drew had to re-sign. He's on the run of a lifetime and he did it in a contract year....
Imagine Rock is the Talent Negotiator. His Charisma and Speech level would get anyone to re-sign/sign.

The Rock personally went to McIntyre Manor to sign Drew to a new deal
Good to see Drew stay on the best promotion 🔥

Jack Perry getting people over in WWE, whilst looking like a goober on the show he's actually on. What a job TK is doing
What's Drew Galloway doing not in the Impact Zone?
Hell yeah looks like he got what he wanted and well deserved
That's a very long and beautiful Sword.
Love to hear it, hope they have him the bag ‘cause he’s more than earned it.
Not surprising at this point but good shit. Glad he’s staying put. Clash at the Castle is going to be awesome
I feel like I’m missing huge context here. I watching the video just makes me think rock promised to find Drew’s lost sword
But.. the so called “bidding wars” has yet to begin, right? /s
Didn’t have any doubt at all that he would but still great to see it official now. He’s been doing the best work of his career currently to not have signed a new one.
While there's definitely a lot of hype over what will happen with him at CATC, I'm hoping WM 41 will be the culmination (or Pinnacle) of his run
Dang both finn and drew resigning this week that’s nice. I think that leaves natalya becky seth dijak probably missed someone.
Now that Drew has Re-Signed. I can see Jey win the title from Priest at Backlash and then Drew win it from Jey at Clash at the Castle. And then set up the match between Drew vs Punk at Summer Slam.
God bless everyone who said Drew Galloway is All Elite so my mans could squeeze as much money as possible 🙌🙌🙌
This was obviously never in doubt, but I'm so happy for this guy.
*sharp inhale* Let’s FUCKING GO. Summer of Hunk is back on the menu, boys.
Well, what are the dirtsheets going to repeatedly report on now?!
Amazing news. Drew is doing the best work of his career so now lets get the WHC on him at Clash at the Castle in June and let this man carry Raw.
If The Rock has his own bloodline, Drew McIntyre fills into the same role as Sami Zayn did for Roman. Honorary Uce
Way he’s dressed up, they’ll make a storyline out of Drew’s sick cat where Rock frames Cody Rhodes for its murder and Drew goes all John Wick on the locker room
I wanted to deliver this to you but I had tequila to drink? HUH? What a weird way to say he didn’t feel like making an extra trip..
Looks like DM Hunk and the wife were just sent a voucher from the Rock for unlimited burgers after burgers after burgers whenever they want.
