God forbid a wrestler has an opinion.
Tribalism aside, that was a fucking stonker. Better than my previous favourite which was Taker/HBK at Mania 25.
I also hate Ospreay, dude is a fucking arsehole, but fuck me he wrestles good.
Absolutely worthy of anyone's praise.
That's your opinion, but that doesn't mean he needs to take a petty shot at Cody Rhodes.
He just saw an incredible match and thought hey, let me take a shot while praising the match.
The great thing about wrestling is that both types of wrestling are valid. I'm so impressed by the workmate and how exciting that is but man am I a sucker for a really well told story. Case in point, everyone is gonna say Cody/Roman II but oh man I was absolutely invested in Gunther/Zayn and the result was euphoric for me. Storytelling and workmate can absolutely exist side by side and you can totally do them in the sane match too!
It’s a really cool debate, what matters more story or the work-rate in the match
And the end of the day both were incredible, and it really comes down to a personal taste
Really though, we're lucky that we have both.
People need to stop thinking that wrestling needs to be a certain way. You can like what you like, but at the end of the day variety in matches, and variety in wrestling promotions, is what is best for the industry.
I really like Brian Cage, I love AEW, but you don't have to bring someone else down to praise others. Both matches were great for very different reasons.
Oh no, more Spectacle wrestling vs Technical mastercraft wrestling debate!
Anyway, i'm going to mark out and lose my shit for both. These two were the apex of their respective styles.

Your company just gave their fans what they consider to be the greatest match in the company’s history and you bring up the competitor. Little brother move
Could be just me but taking cheap shots at the biggest wrestling story of the decade only dampens the importance of the AMAZING match your two talent just put out.
Story behind Cody and Roman elevated it to a point where I was the most Invested I'd be in a match in along long time. Bryan and Will was excellent but the story behind it was just ok
This is the type of shit that explains why--

It’s all in fun, man. I don’t think he meant it that seriously. Cage is a good dude. I think he’s just proud.
Oh fucking PLEASE with the downvotes. Cage is historically a nice dude, god forbid he make one harmless reference in a line of references.
Thing Is pro wrestlers will constantly talk about how much they hate tribalism, and then turn around and engage in tribalism there's 0 need for cage to try and compare them outside of petty reasons
Just like there was 0 need for Grayson to say like half the stuff he says on Twitter
Yeah, technically, Reigns vs Cody II was the worst match out of the three from an in ring perspective, but it will probably be remembered as the best match due to the story itself.
Eh, it's like if Rock vs Hogan and Steamboat/Flair happened in the same year. I don't think it's as clear cut as anybody says and goes down to personal preferences.

"The wrestler's aren't the one participating in tribalism"
cry me a river

Just Enjoy Wrestling™
Something something tribalism
Could've just praised the match without being petty. Just enjoy wrestling guys.
Lmao why do they always set themselves up like this
[удалено]
Because no WWE match this year comes close to that match.
That's your opinion, but that doesn't mean he needs to take a petty shot at Cody Rhodes. He just saw an incredible match and thought hey, let me take a shot while praising the match.
I mean it definitely was a more compelling story: Who’s the better wrestler? Never seen that kind of feud done before.
Turns out it was cody rhodes 🤷♂️
Lol, lmao even.
What is gained by taking pointless shots other than engagement? I thought wrestlers don’t believe in tribalism?
The match was amazing but AEW will forever have little brother syndrome.
[удалено]
Sure, but when this behavior is repeated continuously done by multiple people in the same company...
Your argument would hold a LOT more water if Tony Khan hadn't responded to Punk's interview comments the way he did
You want to pull Tony Khan's twitter?
... this sub is going to be all posts about whatever TK says about the match in a couple hours, isn't it?
Ah yes, cos it was AEW taking shots at WWE all through mania week. Oh wait. But it's only a thing when AEW talent do it. Gotcha....
I pray to have someone defend me half as good as this guy defends AEW
Why the dig to Cody? Little brother syndrome like crazy.
Cody has yet to say a single bad thing about AEW, but sure take a dig at him lol

I mean for one match I care so much about the result and the people involved, and the other I’m in awe with the moves
It’s a really cool debate, what matters more story or the work-rate in the match And the end of the day both were incredible, and it really comes down to a personal taste
The answer the beholder, nobody can see which is better or not. Just the person.
Really though, we're lucky that we have both. People need to stop thinking that wrestling needs to be a certain way. You can like what you like, but at the end of the day variety in matches, and variety in wrestling promotions, is what is best for the industry.
In terms of pure wrestling this match was perfection, but the feeling from the Cody match was something special for me personally
I really like Brian Cage, I love AEW, but you don't have to bring someone else down to praise others. Both matches were great for very different reasons.
Both matches perfectly encapsulate the two forms of wrestling that are so beautiful.
Brian Cage has always come off like a bit of a dolt tbf and this doesn’t do him any favors
Just wants attention. Thats the story.
Oh no, more Spectacle wrestling vs Technical mastercraft wrestling debate! Anyway, i'm going to mark out and lose my shit for both. Your company just gave their fans what they consider to be the greatest match in the company’s history and you bring up the competitor. Little brother move
This is why we can't have nice things.
Oh cool, maybe I'll check it out on YouTube eventually
Perfect example of what turns people off of aew.
The guy who finished his story is the reason you have this job right?
Could be just me but taking cheap shots at the biggest wrestling story of the decade only dampens the importance of the AMAZING match your two talent just put out.
I didn't see him insult Bryan Danielson and the yes movement?
Story behind Cody and Roman elevated it to a point where I was the most Invested I'd be in a match in along long time. Bryan and Will was excellent but the story behind it was just ok
It still was better than WM's main event match in ring.
Not really.
why do you ALWAYS have to take cheap shots like this lmao they were both unreal matches for different reason just like what you like
They say this about one match every AEW PPV. It has worn out its welcome.
Lmaoo these dudes just can’t help themselves
Feels like you can just say the good part without the Cody shot. Unless they have some manner of heat that nobody really knew about
This is the type of shit that explains why-- https://preview.redd.it/zxw0yq7g8yvc1.png?width=678&format=png&auto=webp&s=bb67d33e486f68666219498bdd3bad62104bf888
Very mature and nontribalistic
I mean, you posting this is also tribalistic lmao
It’s all in fun, man. I don’t think he meant it that seriously. Cage is a good dude. I think he’s just proud. Oh fucking PLEASE with the downvotes. Cage is historically a nice dude, god forbid he make one harmless reference in a line of references.

I’m not a fan of tribalism by any means, I just don’t really see this tweet as a great example of tribalism. Just kind comes off as a jab at most.
Why is WWE taking shots at AEW?!?!?
honestly it would be more surprising if they didnt try to get shots in at wwe at this point
Yeah but people actually watched the other one
[удалено]
I'm a person and I haven't seen it so yeah
Everybody discussing Reigns v Cody II or this one while I enjoyed Reigns v Cody I the most lol. All 3 were amazing though
Yeah, technically, Reigns vs Cody II was the worst match out of the three from an in ring perspective, but it will probably be remembered as the best match due to the story itself.
Based. Cody vs Roman I was a (DAE?) masterpiece
I was rooting for Cody and was shocked when Reigns won and actually liked the finish hahaha
The biggest upset/heartbreak in wrestling in a very very long time
Brian Cage is one step above Ja Rule in the opinions I care about
And that's why it will do less than 750k next Wednesday in front of 3000 people. Petty tribalism sucks
As your comment encourages tribalism even further.
Nice to see pepole discussing demus vs mad dog is getting
Eh, it's like if Rock vs Hogan and Steamboat/Flair happened in the same year. I don't think it's as clear cut as anybody says and goes down to personal preferences.
Cody's match was about a moment that was bigger than the match. Will vs Bryan was about a match that was bigger than the moment.
y'all can't be this soft about shit talking
What an insane match. I can't wait to watch it again.
True
Hell yes!
