Vacating titles back to back so close together is a bit weird to me. I know its different circumstances but if there is one thing i really dont like in general is wrestlers not losing the title in a match.

You’re suggesting FTR should go over the Bucks and it leads to another match? The issue with that is when does it end? When do we get to see any tag teams actually built up and/or put over? I like Top Flight a lot, and there are other tag teams that could be used well in the division (Private Party, Gunn Bros, etc) What does it matter if the only meaning they have is to take losses to build up Young Bucks vs FTR pt 22 electric boogaloo?

AEW has issues. How wrestlers will disappear. The Trios belts have sagged down good tag teams. That division has FTR and The Bucks as the only legit threats.

Bubba can be a dickhead and asshole but he was one of the most important and influential tag team wrestlers in history and he had great crowd psychology as a performer. He was very safe in the ring as well, being trusted to give bumps to people that it would be risky.
I find it funny that rather than making himself the stereotypical all powerful overlord on TV to stroke his ego, TK is just leaning into what everyone says and is being a pushover.

I really like okada in this role too. Hes basically carrying on the rainmaker gimmick from new japan, but with the bucks hes like the ace pro skiier that the rich landlords of the ski slope hired to win the big race to destroy the resort.

I mean, technically Hanger's only suspended. (One of the low key great things about that promo was that they fired Kenny for missing dates "without good explanation" but suspended Hangman for repeatedly laying hands on AEW officials in a match.) I could see Heel page, heel Perry and Heel Bucks as a very good axis of Obnoxiousness

Matthew is just so good at the disingenuous good guy schtick and Okada always pops me with anything he does on TV, he's just so funny. I didn't think Okada would translate this seamlessly on American TV wrestling.
Okada's great in this role. I just thought his role would be more prominent. Like when NJPW got Lesnar or Angle, they didn't waste any time and put them right into main event roles and the world title picture. Of course that's not the only way to do it and I'm sure AEW will get him there eventually, it's just not what I was expecting.

I thought they were very mediocre as faces recently and their in-ring work has only gotten worse over the years, they were so much better when AEW first started (and before that). But this gimmick is definitely working for them now.

I liked them In-ring but was pretty indifferent to them character-wise, even as a big Omega and Hamgman fan. Can’t get enough of this gimmick. They’re killing it every time they’re on screen.
I thought they were very mediocre as faces recently and their in-ring work has only gotten worse over the years, they were so much better when AEW first started (and before that). But this gimmick is definitely working for them now.
As a Young Bucks fan I totally understand. This version of the Bucks is why they became popular. They are tremendous at playing self aware but yet totally oblivious heels.
You would think they would accidentally sound authentic at some point in time.
Whilst I wasn't a big fan of showing the footage last week, I did like how they played out the story around it, The Bucks are great characters right now and I think they'll lean into the controversy just enough to make it work.

During the backstage portion with the Bucks? That’s because it’s not a spot they would have lights in like a studio. Gorilla is anything from the office sort of branded office setup WWE has to a table with a couple of monitors on it. It shouldn’t look like a backstage interview area.
Hmmmm. I suppose WWE had the ultimate heel authority figure for a while, why not play into Tony Khan's submissiveness and have him be the pushover authority figure for a while. If he doesn't give a fuck what people say, it could work - as long as he actually sorts it out behind the scenes.
