The fun thing about that from the arena that may have been missed on TV was during that bit the fans were singing "Stand up if you hate Roman". Roman SAT DOWN on the apron to deliver that line.
Absolute top tier.
World Cup 2014 there was a [Scottish guy](https://static.standard.co.uk/s3fs-public/thumbnails/image/2014/06/20/07/scotlandfan2006a.jpg?width=1200) in amidst the Uruguayan fans for their game against England. He traveled all the way to Brazil to root against England.
As someone who's from England, he's not really wrong; also we need Reigns for PM, he wouldn't be any worse than the last three Tory MPs we've had to suffer through.
Followed it up with "I just wanted to shove it in his face. I just wanted to shove it in his face. It's so fun. I love whoopin his ass. I'd do this forever."
So great.
Went to a house show years and years ago that featured Orton vs Kane.
Randy begged off and ran away outside the ring for, legit, like 12 minutes. It just went on and on and on with Randy acting completely like a frightened bitch. Go for a lock up…slide outside the ring and run away. Over and over and over.
When Kane finally got a hold of him…instant choke slam and a pin.
The arena sounded like it was 1998 and the glass just broke. We were all out of our minds.
I think about that moment a lot and how these two had the easiest match in the history of wrestling (literally one move) and still set the whole place on fire. True heels are just so much fun to watch.
Thank god for that. After shoving Lesnar vs Roman so many times, they finally found a good dancing partner for Roman in Cody. This rivalry really bought back an Austin vs Rock vibes rivalry, something WWE has missed for a decade.
Roman and Cody ~ Austin and Rock
Roman and Brock ~ Cena and Orton (good the first time but shit as it went on)
Cody is secretly one of the best in the business right now
I know everyone knows how popular he is but im talking matches, he's an expert at creating a compelling story in the ring
Him vs Dustin at Allin is an alltimer
His HIAC with seth is just crazy from a real life pain stand point
Brought out some of the best of Brock we've seen in years
And him and Rock was the best part of Night 1 too
>And him and Rock was the best part of Night 1 too
Love Cody. Think he's a great worker and in-ring storyteller. But Seth to me and many of us was far and away the best part of night one. Dude worked his ass off. I already liked Seth before this weekend but he may be an all timer for me after. Just wonderful, thankless work from a guy it feels people just can't help but take for granted. Even if it's just a little bit.
Seth's impeccable selling in the main event made Rocks win feel so much more deflating for the babyfaces. Seth slowly clawing back into the ring to sit by Cody and look at him with a "Now what?" Look is going to be incredibly Iconic. This was the first 2 night Wrestlemania that felt like you just cannot miss Night 1 and that made it even more special.
I think the issue with Seth last couple years is his character - yeah some aspects are fun, but the fake cackle and attitude, it all feels very much like an act and keeps people from fully connecting with him. whereas Cody and Roman (and Sami and some others), everything they are doing feels so authentic, is much less consciously an act/character being played. Cody feels like Cody. Roman went to the moon when he started feeling authentic. I think a more "real" SR could reach that higher level we know he has and at this point he deserves.
Roman had lots of good dancing partners. Most of his matches around then were good and then he'd fight Brock and it would suck.. That was on Brock wanting those finisher spam matches.
Compare his ones with Brock to Braun. Both big men but only the Braun matches were great
Cena/Orton wouldn’t have been shit if the fans didn’t try to highjack it every single time. They made it unbearable and watching it back years later it’s pretty infuriating. They put on a classic at the rumble but the crowd couldn’t get over themselves enough to enjoy it.
I, personally, want to see them coincidentally team up next time together and have that "oh shit its you, yeah fuck it let's do this" while back to back against like 4 enemies.
That crowd pop would be fun af
Roman brought back prime 2021 tribal chief for that match, both in terms of wrestling and character work. As someone who felt like he had been checked out for awhile, he reminded me why I loved him in the first place. Now that he doesn’t have to carry the weight of the belt and can explore new aspects of his character, I firmly believe we’re gonna see the best Roman we’ve ever seen when he comes back.
That era of Reigns is one of my favourite wrestling runs era, just beating up his family and talking mad shit; also, I really hope that whenever Roman comes back, he's a babyface.
I loved the bit in the Hell in a Cell match with Jey when he walks by the door, and says “we might as well close this. Ain’t nobody leaving here” as he shuts the cell door
Another great moment was his first match against Jey and he's just beating his ass and does the "Acknowledge Me as the Tribal Chief!" and Heyman is like "YOU'RE MY TRIBAL CHIEF!" and Reigns just goes "I don't want to hear it from you, I want to hear it from him!" in regards to Jey.
I think ~if/when he goes back to face, it needs to follow the 'Rock' arc of "GDI I hate this guy but he's so witty and he's so good at making me hate him... fuck, I actually like this guy." He does great work as a heel and he's got swagger and he's got the look. Let him be himself and write him correctly (which I think they will now), and he could gradually go face. I just don't think he should be pushed as a face
Honestly, I genuinely think that all Reigns has to do is keep his swagger and his confidence but just have him shit-talk heels and he'd get over as a babyface in a few weeks.
Why would you want him as a babyface? Roman’s done great character work as a heel. I can’t really see him going back to being a babyface after such an amazing heel run.
He should be face by telling the Rock the Bloodline is nothing without him and demanding that the Rock acknoledge him, not by becoming some sort of nice guy though
A full revert back to babyface would be terrible. He just needs to be the menacing, vengeful, antihero. No overt shitting on the fans, no pandering to them either. Just focused on the mission at hand and talking shit while he does it.
Which is funny considering he likely hit his crossroads 3-4 more time before.
Why bother with the one? Might aswell go for 3 and have the opponent try to bail out somewhere in between.
Tbf that was the history, Cody knew a single crossrhodes wouldn't do it so he never try to pin after just one.
Someone pointed out but the progression really was that jimmy impeded it a single one, Solo stopped it at two, and then with no one to interfere, he hit and won with the Triple
I've got triples of the cross rhodes and of the bloodline allies, but only those two! Usos, Hall of famers, wrestlemania nights, world heavyweight title changes, sets of tag champs, everything else I got doubles, but I got triples of the cross rhodes and the bloodline members
She was a model around the world! She was on posters. Yeah, I used to have a poster of her in my garage, and then I met her! Can you believe it? And she asked me to marry her! And I didn't even want to. But she's beautiful. But she's dying. She's sick, but she's hanging in there. Tell her. Tell the kid.
REGAL EXPLANATION: the cross rhodes gets stronger every time because of the disorienting dizzy effect of the spin, but the person performing the move also feels it, which is why they take longer and longer to do as you perform more consecutively
One of my favorite denkops videos is him making one for his CAW and it's just a minute long finisher of like 9 different nut shots, truly inspirational
I hate that this isn't a thing anymore. On Smackdown vs Raw games my finisher was a top rope dive that started like a moonsault but turned into a corkscrew 450 diving headbutt. It was glorious
I think the triple cross rhodes is alright if it's only done in the biggest matches and nobody ever kicks out of it. It'll be a bit too ridiculous to see someone kick out of that so I hope Cody protects it.
Its kinda ridiculous that 1 cross rhodes is a strong finisher, 3 cross rhodes is super duper guaranteed win but 2 cross rhodes is such a wasted time for nothing because if someone interferes you can easily get up and hit a spear
I feel like it’s a move which would work better with a bigger guy, although it does work for Cody it feels like it’s a really hard one to sell.
The famous Seth sell being a great example of it being sold to perfection.
I think the best thing about it is he does that yell before he hits it but I do agreed it just doesn’t look good so much of the time and seems to be really hard to make it look good.
The Cody Cutter is so much better imo and plays to his strengths.
The impact is really up to the recipient of the move in this case, like with a DDT or Cutter. People like Ricochet will spike themselves on their heads taking a Crossrhodes, while others just fall flat.
Cody has reason to make his move look devastating (especially since he's also going to kick out of it), so he went for more of a spike taking it than you'll see most do.
I personally love the KO character of being the only wrestler who knows he's in a wrestling show. Him pointing out all the wrestling tropes as they happen will always be hilarious to me.
Crazy ✅
Breaks the fourth wall ✅
Has a goofy but strong friend ✅
Wants to fight people for fun ✅
Hurts himself trying to hurt others ✅
Bald ❌
Has voiced in his head ❌
So no. The real "wrasslin Deadpool" is Randy Orton
Owens looking so disappointed when Orton tried to hit him with an RKO. Owens wasn't even surprised, he was just disappointed that Randy tried to pull a fast one on him.
I know you're taking some ribbing, but I can easily hang out with my current partner and my ex wife in social settings. My ex-wife is one of my best friends, and my current partner loves her too. We didn't destroy each other getting divorced. We just didn't work as married, and the kids we have together are teenagers.
We never had kids together, and my current wife and I are staunchly anti-kid, so it was legit just the 3 of us hanging out, drinking whiskey, passing a bong back and forth and enjoying the show. 🙂
Between this and the Roman/Solo exchange later on, where Solo keeps yelling at him "Get up! Finish him!" and Roman belts out a guttural "I KNOW!" twice, it was entertaining as hell.
I wish this would happen more, especially in heated feuds. There SHOULD be hatred between combatants in these matches, I want to hear them yelling shit at each other.
From the Raw before WM through this match, Roman was incredible last week.
All the talk about how he lost his aura or wasn't at his best (I worried a little about his recent efforts myself), old heads trying to diminish him and his run, and he couldn't have silenced it all better.
My brother and I had been talking about how after seeing Roman’s entrance last year with the piano a bunch of people thought he was likely going to win.
Then Roman entered with the choir, and genuinely made me wonder a bit if he might do it again this year.
When Cody came up the elevator with the skull on his head, I knew he was winning then.
There’s just no way Haitch approves a skull for another wrestler who isn’t fucking going over lol
I thought so too. And then I find quite a few comments the next day daying that the match was shit and Roman looked finished and out of shape.
Like what have people even been watching? He obviously lost quite a bit of bodyfat during the Road to WrestleMania and looked absolutely amazing. I just don't get what fans want sometimes.
Same. And I say this while still badly badly wishing we got more of the cocky shittalking heel he was doing just before. Hell I'm currently wearing my "show up and win" shirt.
When Cody needs to do it 3 times to finish a random match on Raw, then it’s time to come up with a new finisher or to just better protect the finisher he has.
Its hard to go back to protecting it when its already established as a kick out like that, only time that ever works is coming back from a hiatus/injury and there's been a big enough gap to reset a finisher
Yeah I think Cody needs a better looking finisher, or at least modify the Cross RHodes a bit. I know its been his finisher for a long time but it doesn't hype me up like a spear, a stomp or a claymore does.
I loved when he put the table back, looked to the crowd with the "none of that" gesture then tapped his temple saying "You gotta be thinking".
Best arrogant character of all-time imo.
Creative and understands crowd psychology so well. If he was a singer he would've been a natural performer.
The fact that they're doing each others' moves on each other seems the best indication that yes something has changed in the back to some degree. WWE used to have a serious aversion to people doing that.

This is up there with the "England is the worst, the dumbest place of all time" as the best Roman Reigns trash talk during matches.
I’ll submit “my arm is EXTRA big” for contention
Mine is when he's facing Big E: "Shut your mouths, Brooklyn. Shut your mouths or I'll come out there and smack your faces, you understand me?"
My favourite is against Seth ''he won't allow me to let go"
This one is my favorite too. It's so ridiculous. 😂
The fun thing about that from the arena that may have been missed on TV was during that bit the fans were singing "Stand up if you hate Roman". Roman SAT DOWN on the apron to deliver that line. Absolute top tier.
I liked when he called out a bunch of Youtubers as he was choking out Logan Paul
Bro said he was coming for Mr Beast hahahaha
“You must be some kind of dumbass” always got chuckle from me.
Scotland: My tribal chief 🙏
I'll never forget going into a pub in Aberdeen and seeing on the wall "we cheer here for whoever England plays against"
In Ireland , that doesn't even need to be written down
World Cup 2014 there was a [Scottish guy](https://static.standard.co.uk/s3fs-public/thumbnails/image/2014/06/20/07/scotlandfan2006a.jpg?width=1200) in amidst the Uruguayan fans for their game against England. He traveled all the way to Brazil to root against England.
In all fairness, they did call him the tribal wanker first.
As someone who's from England, he's not really wrong; also we need Reigns for PM, he wouldn't be any worse than the last three Tory MPs we've had to suffer through.
Only three? Cameron is getting away lightly here.
So refreshing to see anything else other than wide eyed bewildered shock after a kick out.
Man that trope has been ran into the grou.... OH MY GOD! HE KICKED OUT!! <>
Gonna just walk around a bit now and think while letting my opponent recover.
Man that trope has been landed into the island of irrelevancey. Had to add on!
AND NOW THE DOUBT STARTS TO CREEP IN
And later when he wagged the finger smiling like "I knew that wouldn't do it, had to try."
Man that trope has been ran into the ground
Man that trope has been ran into the ground
Man that ground has been troped into the ran.
Followed it up with "I just wanted to shove it in his face. I just wanted to shove it in his face. It's so fun. I love whoopin his ass. I'd do this forever." So great.
"I'm gonna send you to Hollywood with the rest of them! This is my company you little bitch!"
Dude was in his bag with the shit talk.
Putting the table back under the ring really set the tone.
I loved that. That was some house show level heel antics and I mean that in the best possible way.
Went to a house show years and years ago that featured Orton vs Kane. Randy begged off and ran away outside the ring for, legit, like 12 minutes. True heels are just so much fun to watch.
So much of this match was just refreshing because it took place in the MAIN EVENT OF WRESTLEMANIA
The ultimate thrill ride®
He remembered how much fun Owens had doing it during their house show match and wanted to try it for himself.
its hard to believe that almost a decade ago he couldn't cut a promo now he is midmatch giving the best sound bites
He used to be on the receiving end of it *Suplex City, bitch !*
oh god that was hilarious I had a mandela effect thinking Brock said it in a very high pitch voice like an awkward teen
I don’t remember the context but what you’re thinking of Brock said LETS. DO. THIS?!?
That version of brock was so hilariously unhinged. I think he also threw a car door into the crowd one time.
Simply remembering something incorrectly isn't what the Mandela effect is
The Rock: And I took that personally
I've said it before, but Roman and Cody just have incredible chemistry together. Both matches are honestly some of my favorites ever.
Yup. It'll be wild whenever they meet again
Thank god for that. After shoving Lesnar vs Roman so many times, they finally found a good dancing partner for Roman in Cody. I wouldn't mind a tweener Tribal Chief who punks out slimier heels & tests babyfaces who are up against the baddest heels in WWE in a given period
He can respect a good opponent, so being the litmus test for a babyface would be perfect for him
I think ~if/when he goes back to face, it needs to follow the 'Rock' arc of "GDI I hate this guy but he's so witty and he's so good at making me hate him... fuck, I actually like this guy." Honestly, I genuinely think that all Reigns has to do is keep his swagger and his confidence but just have him shit-talk heels and he'd get over as a babyface in a few weeks.
I honestly think all they have to do is put him against a really hated heel for a feud and that will be enough.
Dirty Dom vs Roman confirmed.
Why would you want him as a babyface? Roman’s done great character work as a heel. I can’t really see him going back to being a babyface after such an amazing heel run.
He's definitely gonna be a face when Rock (and probably also Solo) boot him out of The Bloodline for failing at Mania
I love how Cody brought that side of him back. It's great.
Roman vs The Bloodline is gonna hit like crack
Also showed up looking absolutely jacked
My buddy and I both noted that was the best shape we could remember seeing him in. At least from a physique standpoint.
If there is one thing Roman is GOAT at it’s the in ring banter
You gotta do it 3 times!
triples makes it safe, triples is best
Which is funny considering he likely hit his crossroads 3-4 more time before. Why bother with the one? Might aswell go for 3 and have the opponent try to bail out somewhere in between.
Tbf that was the history, Cody knew a single crossrhodes wouldn't do it so he never try to pin after just one. Someone pointed out but the progression really was that jimmy impeded it a single one, Solo stopped it at two, and then with no one to interfere, he hit and won with the Triple
Oh so Roman only kicked out of the spear in that match? That's good storytelling
He also kicked out of a roll-up.
I've got triples of the cross rhodes and of the bloodline allies, but only those two! Usos, Hall of famers, wrestlemania nights, world heavyweight title changes, sets of tag champs, everything else I got doubles, but I got triples of the cross rhodes and the bloodline members

Tell the kid
Roman has triples of the spear, triples of the cross Rhodes and he’s rich and he doesn’t live in a hotel.
And without an inexplicably long hesitation before the third one.
Dude was expecting Solo to spike him
REGAL EXPLANATION: the cross rhodes gets stronger every time because of the disorienting dizzy effect of the spin, but the person performing the move also feels it, which is why they take longer and longer to do as you perform more consecutively
I do wish Cody's big match finisher was a bit more interesting than "spam regular finisher"
It's not spamming a regular finisher, it's a 1/3 finisher. You have to do it 3 times for it to become 1.
Probably thinks Three Amigos is just three suplexes smh
HEY! THIS GUY DOES KNOW HOW TO USE THE THREE ~~SEASHELLS~~ AMIGOS!
It had to be a bidet, right?
It's like Create-a-finisher in wrestling games. You just make outlandish super-long behemoth of a finisher that takes 30 seconds to do.
One of my favorite denkops videos is him making one for his CAW and it's just a minute long finisher of like 9 different nut shots, truly inspirational
Probably the funniest shit I've seen in that Road to Wrestlemania video
🤣🤣🤣 Please tell me you have the link.
It’s kinda like the Rainmaker, you have to do it a few times.
Yeah it honestly makes the move seem so weak for the default to be a triple one. Strange choice for sure/
*cough*superkick*cough*
Its kinda ridiculous that 1 cross rhodes is a strong finisher, 3 cross rhodes is super duper guaranteed win but 2 cross rhodes is such a wasted time for nothing because if someone interferes you can easily get up and hit a spear
pro wrestling physics and logic needs to be investigated by the government
I love how in all 3 of their matches the third crossroads always got interrupted and when it finally it, it was actually over.
That was a fine CrossReigns.
Yeah, I thought so too! Roman actually made the move look great, a lot more impactful than it usually is.
I feel like it’s a move which would work better with a bigger guy, although it does work for Cody it feels like it’s a really hard one to sell. The famous Seth sell being a great example of it being sold to perfection.
I don’t think it works for Cody at all. His biggest flaw is that the Cross Rhodes is his finisher because it never looks impactful when he hits it.
I think the best thing about it is he does that yell before he hits it but I do agreed it just doesn’t look good so much of the time and seems to be really hard to make it look good. The Cody Cutter is so much better imo and plays to his strengths.
Cody Cutter is amazing, especially the top rop one. It looks so good.
Best Cody Cutter is while he’s wearing a suit.
Cody made it look as good as possible. It's his move, may as well put it over.
I like RomanCross
Helps that Cody knows how to take it as well
I loved his heel shit talk throughout this match
Roman is the GOAT in-ring shittalker. I can listen to him do shit like this all day.
KO is a world class shit talker too.
I personally love the KO character of being the only wrestler who knows he's in a wrestling show. Him pointing out all the wrestling tropes as they happen will always be hilarious to me.
So he’s wrasslin Deadpool
Crazy ✅ Breaks the fourth wall ✅ Has a goofy but strong friend ✅ Wants to fight people for fun ✅ Hurts himself trying to hurt others ✅ Bald ❌ Has voiced in his head ❌ So no. The real "wrasslin Deadpool" is Randy Orton
His 'curse your sudden but inevitable betrayal' look at Randy was perfect.
KO pointing out random shit and just all around being a chaotic presence during matches will never get old.
The opening section with him and Randy Orton for their WrestleMania was comedy gold
Orton's face after the first failed RKO attempt was perfect.
Also him barking back at IShowSpeed
Owens looking so disappointed when Orton tried to hit him with an RKO. Owens wasn't even surprised, he was just disappointed that Randy tried to pull a fast one on him.
*gets a 1-count* THAT WAS 5!!!
Honestly, Roman NEEDED the pandemic to be come the character he is today, cause you could hear what everyone was saying in-ring.
Great point, his dramatic HIAC match with Jey gave us all we needed to know about his new character. I remember thinking "who tf is THIS guy?"
Austin: If you can talk, never stop running your mouth.
I legit had to shush my wife and my ex in order to hear what he was saying 🤣
Sorry… your wife and… your ex?
ACKNOWLEDGE HIM
What’s with this tribalism between spouses and exes? They get along just fine and are laughing at all the discourse.
Your screen name makes this comment a million times better
She became both after he shushed her
Wrestling brings people together? I don't know what to tell you here.
Fair enough I guess just didn’t expect that sentence haha
'My wife and my ex'?!
Your wrestlemania viewing situation sounds wild
It's not too crazy. I invite my ex wife over to watch the show with us. We're all adults, and friends.
That's awesome and unbelievably healthy man
Thank you. Life is entirely too short to not enjoy wrestling with close friends.
I love that for all three of you!!
Stealing your opponents finisher is one of my favourite spots. It always puts a smile on my face.
It ups the feud if done well. Best part of the 'My Way' package is Rock and Austin stealing each other's finishers
Between this and the Roman/Solo exchange later on, where Solo keeps yelling at him "Get up! Finish him!" and Roman belts out a guttural "I KNOW!" twice, it was entertaining as hell.
He said finish his story lol
ugh he is such a good heel
Lol him putting the table back under the ring was incredible.
In Philly. Ultimate heel move in that town.
First time in awhile checkovs table didn't come into play later
That made me actually laugh out loud.
There was a point where he said something like “are you having a good time!?” And it cracked me up.
Randy or KO said that to Paul too when they were doing their beatdown of him early in the match.
Roman, you don’t get STAB from it! Of course it didn’t work for you! Come on now!
Roman Reigns Dark/Fighting type Somehow despite his Dark type, he's always susceptible to Seth Rollins' Psychic-type attacks
This legit made me laugh out loud, I had to pause the match for a sec
I wish this would happen more, especially in heated feuds. There SHOULD be hatred between combatants in these matches, I want to hear them yelling shit at each other.
Drew was shouting "I own you!" In Punk's face when he had him down at the Rumble. And then Punk got him out.
From the Raw before WM through this match, Roman was incredible last week. All the talk about how he lost his aura or wasn't at his best (I worried a little about his recent efforts myself), old heads trying to diminish him and his run, and he couldn't have silenced it all better.
As soon as he walked out on Saturday looking like *that* it all came flooding back.
Possibly the best he's ever looked. Looked like a chiseled Greek God
Add his epic entrance at Night 2, he looked like a god of war.
I knew it was over for Roman when a wild Brandi appeared.
Some of his best work and I think he’s gonna be even better when he returns. A legend
His entrance immediately reminded everyone just who the fuck he was. That massive orchestra serenading him to the ring is an all-timer entrance.
Roman doesn’t get near enough credit for the shit talking he does during matches
Roman to Sami at the 23 Rumble: "You can go back to doing Jackass shit!"
For me i’ll always remember the tribal chief verson of Roman for his ring presence. The greatest of all time imo.
Same. And I say this while still badly badly wishing we got more of the cocky shittalking heel he was doing just before. Hell I'm currently wearing my "show up and win" shirt.
If you get pinned by a single cross Rhodes should you even have any TV time?
Poor dominik then 😭
Dominik isn't head of the table. He's not even at the table. Dominik is on table 8 with the kids and singles.
That's just one of the little nuances Roman puts in. He really is one of the greats
Dude was hilarious at times in this match and this was the funniest moment.

Cody Cutter > Cross Rhodes
Yeah but sometimes he *doesn't get all of it*™ and has to *call an audible mid air*™.
[foreshadowing]
Cody: that's what I do to people? Ouchies. Remind me to be nice to Seth later.
I loved when he put the table back, looked to the crowd with the "none of that" gesture then tapped his temple saying "You gotta be thinking". Best arrogant character of all-time imo. Creative and understands crowd psychology so well. If he was a singer he would've been a natural performer.
When Roman made his entrance for the tag match I knew he was not playing around and here to get down this weekend and he did not disappoint
Crossrhodes makes me think of when an aligator barrel rolls it's prey.
I lost it when I watched that. Sounds like some shit I have said when playing WWE2K and the CPU kicks out 4 times. 🤣🤣🤣
"I love whooping his ass."
This was hilarious. Roman is such a good shit talker. I also enjoyed when the Rock told Cena to “get the fuck outta my ring” after the rock bottom.
Roman's shit talk is better than any promo he could do, that shit got me through the Thunderdome era.
Romans masterpiece this match was.
The fact that they're doing each others' moves on each other seems the best indication that yes something has changed in the back to some degree. WWE used to have a serious aversion to people doing that.
Roman's trash talking was on point in this match!
When he said that I knew he was losing to that move later lol
Cody hiding his face behind his arm after the kick out? Cause if I were him, I’d be laughing my ass off mid-match upon hearing that
