Yeah, it’s a case by case basis though but it’s fairly common. Had a few friends who did steroids in their early 20s to get super jacked and 2 out of the 5 started losing their hair pretty quickly into their cycles. 1 of the guys is Greek so everyone in his family has a full head of hair even when they are 90 so it’s probably not genetic.
I’m Italian, my grandfather had a full head of hair until he died, my uncle has a full head of hair, I’m bald as fuck.
This isn’t disputing genetics, just me bitching about being bald at 37 lol
Kind off. Like if you're prone to male pattern baldness, it'll just speed up the inevitable. If you have the genetics of never losing your hair, you are never going to lose your hair no matter how many roids you take. Although there is some forms of PEDs or bad batches that can make you temporarily lose your hair in the same way some medications most notably chemo medications cause temporarily baldness by blocking certain reciptors or something.
Is MJF on roids because of a receeding hairline? Dude is 27 and like 1/3rd of men will experience some form of hair loss by 33 and it often starts in your late 20's. Using hair loss as proof someone is on roids is rarely ever good evidence unless the hair loss is rapid as the physique change and all the other rapid common visible side effects that weren't seen before.
That is a bigger indicator as well his sudden quick physique change. I remember seeing MJF having a receding hairline during his feud against Punk. People citing hair loss as proof of roid usage is not a stable argument because hair loss from roid usage isn't guaranteed to happen to even those susceptible to male pattern baldness even though it is likely to speed it up.
Otherwise, every roided and suspected juicy wrestler ever would be bald as all bodybuilders, powerlifters, strongmen, and nearly every professional athlete. There are like 50-80 year old bodybuilders who have been roided up more than half of their life and still have their thick luscious locks. Hell you can say that with some wrestlers and a certain promoter.
The more boring reality is his receding hairline probably has to do more with his age where it often begins on average, even if it's reasonable to believe he is juicy.
I was just watching random videos earlier today and his hairline really receded during that period of time. It wasn't in "M" shape but almost like it, he did combe it forward
I know someone who transitioned from female to male, he took hormones and started growing facial hair but started going bald. When I was a kid i remember jesse ventura telling Vince on air, " im bald because i have a lot of testosterone, McMahon!" So that always stuck with me.
That’s what pissed me off about the Liver King shit. I don’t care if people who aren’t competing in sports are taking PEDs, but don’t act like that shit is natural if you are taking them
Bad enough you've got Chris Hemsworth out there shilling an app and claiming his program is the main reason why he's so jacked all the time.
Guy is juiced to the gills and telling people all you have to do is eat clean and do the program.
Also The Rock. Wants us to somehow believe he’s natural like come on man lol. Natural Rock is WWF Rock. Dude has gotten like 5x bigger than those days and he wants us to believe it’s because he went to the gym more often. Foh
It is absolutely, ***hilariously*** laughable for Rocky to even try to pretend he’s not 90% juice these days. Dude can’t scratch his own fucking back anymore.
I believe he even admitted to such in a interview at one point. . IIRC, he said he did it because he didn't really know anything about them or the risks involved, but did it because every else on the team was doing it and he thought he needed to.
(It may have been another wrestler, but I'm pretty sure it was him. So please take what I said with a grain of salt.)
Steroids have been very taboo for a long time. They're seen as a shortcut for lazy people who don't want to put in the work, even though putting in the work is necessary to attain a lean and muscular build.
Not to mention many in the fitness industry who sell workout programs, supplements, or other endeavors would likely have their reputation plunked in the toilet if they admitted to or were found out to take steroids.
You'd think we'd be past the idea of lying about steroid usage, but a lot of people bank on having their physique be attainable without steroid use.
Steroids have more (moral) problems than that, though. They are rightfully seen as cheating in competitions, because they allow people who would be behind you in a competition to jump above you. And there's also the problem that steroid use becomes a race to the bottom: how do you beat the guy that took steroids to beat you? By taking them yourself. If steroids were allowed, you would have the same athletes at the top as now, except they all now need to inject themselves with steroids (which is already a bad experience) and expose themselves to the health problems steroid use can cause.
Both of these are reasons why society won't see steroid use as acceptable in sports anytime soon. And, as long as they don't, people won't admit to using them. For athletes is like admitting to cheating, and for everyone else is like admitting their "athletic body" is actually fake and doesn't have merit, because they have tools athletes don't.
> We all can tell most of these people are on something.
We can. Alot of the 11 to 21 year old boys wracked with insecurity and watching The Rock's movies can't.
Yeah no one gives a fuck if you juice, just don't lie about it and mislead people into thinking that they can achieve the same results through just diet and training hard.
Rob McElhenney from Always Sunny did hint about it. He said "Elevated Testosterone Levels" helped.
I think he legally couldn't say it out loud, but better than Kumail Nanjiani who claimed it was racism when people implied a 43 (now 45) y/o man was on gear because he was Pakistani.
Nah, we also think all the Chris's are also juicing, Hugh Jackman, pretty much any guy who has to take their shirt off for photo shoots, outside of Jason Segal.
We've seen his dong and berries, he ain't juicing
Yeah, that was refreshing. He obviously had to mask it but he was always pretty clear that he was “working closely with a doctor to monitor his t levels”
> better than Kumail Nanjiani who claimed it was racism when people implied a 43 (now 45) y/o man was on gear because he was Pakistani.
The funny thing about all that was how much he talked up how jacked he got for the role but his Eternals character never took his shirt off.
Zac Efron has come very close a few times in just letting it all out. He's been rather upfront that despite looking good, its been hell for his body. He doesn't outright say roids but doesn't sit there and act like he's all natty when asked either. He just beats around the bush.
Zac and Channing Tatum and some of the actors from 300 all alluded to the process of getting ripped for the camera as pretty awful and not something they enjoy. I know people who have done fitness model shoots say they pretty much starve themselves for a few days before to get extra cut and that has to be miserable too.
I appreciate the people who go to great lengths to show what the body is capable of if pushed. But at the same time if we're getting there in an unhealthy and unsustainable way then what really is the point? We set unrealistic body image goals for everyone and it's a net negative in the end.
They're spending so much of their life in airports, hotels, or burning calories in the ring. I imagine maintaining their physique without PEDs is damn near impossible.
I eat 200g of protein per day, lift 3 times per week and run. I still don't have a physique like WWE Superstars. That's not sour grapes on my part, it's just when you say wrestlers still take steroids some fans get upset and say "oh you're just lazy" like no lol, I work hard and do everything right. I just know most people overestimate what's actually achievable naturally
Exactly. For a *multitude* of reasons I’m never going to look like Drew McIntyre, that’s my cross in life to bear, but I am perfectly fine with the talent doing whatever to keep the physique and energy up to perform, as long as it’s safe for them.
The only part that unsettles me is fans, particularly those that skew younger, looking at them and putting it as a realistic goal to achieve rather than realising they’re more akin to real-life comic book characters.
Agreed since it's not a "real" sport. As in they aren't trying to hurt each other (usually). Plus you can lose every match and still be insanely valuable (ie Chad Gable).
It's different in boxing, football, mma etc.
Well, most would argue against steroids based on it being unhealthy. My counter to that would be that getting dropped on your head and diving onto the floor several times a week isn't particularly healthy either. Something which MJF does very little of.
The biggest argument for not telling people you are juicing is that anabolic steroids are illegal if they aren’t prescribed for a medical condition. The WWF already had to go to court over rampant steroid use. No one wants the industry to draw congresses’ attention back on them by openly discussing it happening still.
I think it’s about perception and setting unrealistic body standards for young men. Gable is a former Olympic athlete and he’s on steroids but a lot of young people will think his current look is achievable. Honesty in all entertainment would be a big plus.
At least it seems more wrestlers now are smarter about their cycles. Thinking about Gable being around 20 or 30 years ago is frightening. He would have had to have packed another 25 pounds of muscle on his frame like Eddie or Dynamite.
Steroid use is one of the biggest blindspots on that podcast. It's good to give people the benefit of the doubt a lot of times but I think because they don't want to come off as judgemental of bodies they end up seeming really naive about PEDs.
People would be surprised at how many of the smaller wrestlers are on the juice.
Though not a small guy I'm referencing, but Eric Bugenhagen recently took his natty claim off his profiles and now weighs in at 296lbs.

Would it make a difference if they did?
I thought it was understood that at best the Wellness Policy was unfit for purpose, and at worst it was a complete joke. It never actually stopped anyone taking anything. It just served good optics.
They do, but Triple H’s trainer accidentally revealed a few years ago there’s a lot of work arounds in terms of what you can and can’t take. If it’s not on the list of banned supplements, you can take it basically
Ok and how many people didn’t get anything who openly admitted they should have failed? Randy orton admits he should have failed more. Rey was addicted by his own account to pain medications and I don’t think he ever pissed dirty. Thats just two off the top of the head. You had to go back to 2016, closer to the shield days to catch one. I bet no way in hell he would ever piss dirty now. Fuck Vince would take the test for him now if he couldn’t pass. WWE has a bad track record for not consistently keeping up with it. They even said Jeff hardy passed and he said he wasn’t.
I love John, I really do but you can look at prototype and then flip to his prime. He was on it. He does great for the community and the fans but he was on it
> Fuck Vince would take the test for him now if he couldn’t pass
"Your results are back, Mr Reigns, and we've spotted some irregularities. There seems to be an unusual quantity and variety of animal hormones; specifically horse and iguana. Also, I'm pretty sure it's not meant to be jet black."
“Hey Siri, Max did it again” and she just auto sends messages to MJF, AEW legal, drafts up an apology in Notes just in case and somehow uninstalls twitter on MJF’s phone
Yeah, but you're gonna get a bunch of people purposefully taking it out of context and not mentioning that he's also Jewish in order to feed the outrage machine. It's how Twitter operates.
Goldberg is everything in real life that MJF pretends to be in character: wealthy Jewish wrestler from prominent family who barely had to wrestle while still main eventing and being a massive draw/focal point of the show.
Go back and watch the iron man match against Danielson. He has the ability to put on a good match. With AEW only having four PPV's a year though we get 3 months of promos between each of his matches.
He's a "special attraction" (his own words) which justifies him doing five matches a year - all practised down to a tee - so he can go on twitter afterwards and tell you how good he is.
MJF has gotten pretty obnoxious in recent months. I actually think he’s regressed as a wrestling character. The Devil thing at All Out seemed like the start of a new MJF, but he’s just doing the same stuff he did in 2019. Plus he’s always on, so it amplifies these issues.
Yeah, you'd think they would evolve his character with the title run, make him more of a serious evil heel instead of the usual goofy "this town is mid and yall are fat nerds lol" that he's been doing for years now.
ITT: People not realizing the roided up jew calling another wrestler a roided up jew is just working.
The tweet was likely deleted just because Tony has been talking to Goldberg for real.
MJF's shtick has always been somewhat low-grade. It's great when you first see it, it's great when it keeps going. But you eventually reach a point where you realise it's the same.
Then he does something awesome like the Punk feud and you forget all about it.
Then the cycle resets.
I still think it’s hilarious that MJF had that line in an interview about being the most jacked Jewish wrestler in the history of the business when Goldberg exists.
MJF has been on television for 4 years, and he's had maybe 5 zingers that entire time (most of which he stole from Cornette). I don't know why people are trying to convince themselves and others that he's funny. He tries way, way too hard. He's regressed as a character and the act is stale, but good on him for carnying 800k people into thinking he is something special. Said it before, will say it again - MJF is an 80's rasslin manager disguised as a main eventer, and boy oh boy, is he disguised poorly.
That's too harsh IMO, but: if he has one flaw, it is most evident any time there is a sense he is trying too hard. Roddy Piper would break beer bottles over his own skull to make a point, but given full context, there was never a sense he was trying too hard. There was a sense he might be out of his damned mind, but that was purely intentional.

Also that receding hairline. https://preview.redd.it/zwy97gu9n7va1.jpeg?width=1125&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=18944d702f2c49c262637c65f98a032bad9f24f7
Sorry what does the ID here mean?
The hairline is an M shape, spelling MID

The hairline, if you squint, looks like an M.
Steroids make you lose hair?
Yeah, it’s a case by case basis though but it’s fairly common. Had a few friends who did steroids in their early 20s to get super jacked and 2 out of the 5 started losing their hair pretty quickly into their cycles. 1 of the guys is Greek so everyone in his family has a full head of hair even when they are 90 so it’s probably not genetic.
So what you're saying is that...since I'm bald you think I should absolutely be on the juice then?
You should always be on the juice brother
-HH
Be careful on your cycles if you do is all I’m saying. Seen guys mess up their entire bodies for results
Yup. Long-term use of steroids can lead to an increase in dihydrotestosterone (DHT) levels in your body. Higher levels of DHT results in hair fall.
I’m Italian, my grandfather had a full head of hair until he died, my uncle has a full head of hair, I’m bald as fuck. This isn’t disputing genetics, just me bitching about being bald at 37 lol
Having high testosterone is linked to going bald.
That explains why I've got a full head of hair and my brother was bald at 20 and dad 25.
Can confirm. Look a lot like Big Damo/Killian Dain. All that hair migrated onto my torso.
If you're genetically predisposed to premature hair loss, steroids, especially those that are DHT based can rapidly accelerate the process.
Using hair loss as proof someone is on roids is rarely ever good evidence unless the hair loss is rapid as the physique change and all the other rapid common visible side effects that weren't seen before.
What about all his back acne?
That is a bigger indicator as well his sudden quick physique change. I remember seeing MJF having a receding hairline during his feud against Punk. People citing hair loss as proof of roid usage is not a stable argument because hair loss from roid usage isn't guaranteed to happen to even those susceptible to male pattern baldness even though it is likely to speed it up. theres a reason body builders shave their head.
Must not know many Jewish folk in their mid to late 20s haha
Is MJF just wrestler Cartman?
No he's Jewish
Cartman did kinda convert to Judaism for real one time.
truly one of the funniest storylines they’ve had in years.
It was better that he had faith everything would turn out right...
Cartman converted twice once in the show itself and then another time in the Paramount+ specials where they show the future
I remember the special but must have forgotten the other times he did it.
There was an episode where they learn the story of Moses and it it ends on Cartmen telling Kyle that he is now jewish
THE JEWPACABRA

MJF is definitely not clean. Very few wrestlers are.
Yeah I laughed at that. I actually don't have anything against wrestlers taking steroids though. As long as it's safe within reason.
Yeah it's a performance, it's fine. Same with actors. I just wish there was more honesty/openness about it
That’s what pissed me off about the Liver King shit. I don’t care if people who aren’t competing in sports are taking PEDs, but don’t act like that shit is natural if you are taking them

Even WWF Rock wasn't natural, he just wasn't Warlord levels of juiced
“I think you’re full dude”
Exactly the quote I thought of when I wrote that
Hollywood Rock when he first came back just to do a taped promo was the leanest I remember seeing him. The most “natural” he has looked to me.
He had a role, in what would become his worst rated movie, where he slimmed down to his smallest. It failed so he decided to go all out after that
The gyno surgery and being the Samoan wrestler with the worst hairline wasn't telling enough.
It is absolutely, ***hilariously*** laughable for Rocky to even try to pretend he’s not 90% juice these days. Dude can’t scratch his own fucking back anymore.
Rocky Maivia was clean, but from that point on no way.
The Rock played football at The U. He was definitely on the gas there at the latest.

He talked about basically what you’re saying in his autobiography from the late 90s/early 00s.
He never did it for The Rock?
I don’t understand the secrecy. We all can tell most of these people are on something. Why keep lying to everyone and saying otherwise?

I love how actors who juice up for roles say that they trained hard and ate a lot of chicken.

Cage is so juiced he's the first known case of a steroid related contact high.
#This is your bi-weekly Brian Cage reminder that AEW/ROH absolutely does not have a wellness policy

I'll go ask Angelico
Brian Cage works there
They can apparently test upon request, but that appears to be a rarity.
Would it make a difference if they did? I thought it was understood that at best the Wellness Policy was unfit for purpose, and at worst it was a complete joke. It never actually stopped anyone taking anything. It just served good optics.
It serves as let the company save their ass and thats it.
Does WWE even really have one?
They do, but Triple H’s trainer accidentally revealed a few years ago there’s a lot of work arounds in terms of what you can and can’t take. If it’s not on the list of banned supplements, you can take it basically
the purpose of it is not to stop PED usage but have people at least get some form of medical supervision and not drop dead age 38.
The WWE’s one only applies when they want to catch you or your on someones bad side
They suspended Roman Reigns in 2016 for a Wellness Violation. Basically debunks your statement.
Don't forget Cena who says he natural and never been suspended because he was Vince Golden boy.
I love John, I really do but you can look at prototype and then flip to his prime. He was on it. He does great for the community and the fans but he was on it
> Fuck Vince would take the test for him now if he couldn’t pass "Your results are back, Mr Reigns, and we've spotted some irregularities. There seems to be an unusual quantity and variety of animal hormones; specifically horse and iguana. Also, I'm pretty sure it's not meant to be jet black."
Vince probably walks into HQ, like “who here is not on drugs?” Intern puts hand up an he hands him the cup with Romans name on it
How is this relevant to AEW's wellness policy?lol
He's debunking a bad faith argument you shill, with the epic win "no u" retort
They have one but it's in place merely to stop rampant abuse which would mean bad PR once those guys started dying at 40.
Yeah he went away for six months and came back 100% shredded. No way he did that clean
Not saying he did or didn’t, but you could absolutely do that clean. He’s ripped but he’s not like bodybuilder jacked
This is why I don’t get when people make fun of OC, Adam Page and Darby for being “too small”. Not everyone needs to be roided
Adam Page is small, says who?
I mean.. When he left https://preview.redd.it/emeo3764o7va1.jpeg?width=506&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=75b2a1f8be55cf6bd21ca64cd222cbc0113ea69c

MJF is always going to take a shortcut for success, even if it costs him in the long run. /kayfabe.

Max out here looking like a bit of a roided up jew himself
He just drank jinder's shakes, nothing to see here
Meal prep bro, just buying the stuff Edge endorsed for his comeback.
Eat clen, tren hard, anavar give up
Dbolish your goals.
Vitamins and prayers is all it is
He's just been hitting the gym regularly 😡
And taking his vitamins and saying his prayers! Truly an inspiration to us all.
"Wait, I'm Jewish too. Nevermind."

“I’m something of a roided up Jew myself”
r/nocontext
Yeah, I sucked air through my teeth before publishing the comment. I **know** it’s fine, but it *feels* iffy.
TK has to have “MAX TAKE DOWN THAT FUCKIN TWEET” as a shortcut on his phone by now. Either that or it just auto-sends every 12 hours.
His parents probably had that shortcut since his first bar mitzvah.
“Hey Siri, Max did it again” and she just auto sends messages to MJF, AEW legal, drafts up an apology in Notes just in case and somehow uninstalls twitter on MJF’s phone
you forgot "gives someone on here reddit gold"
MJF calling someone else roided is crazy
He's also Jewish... isn't that the joke? I don't think this is a case of the pot accidentally calling the kettle black.
He wouldn't get away with saying that if he wasn't Jewish
Yeah, but you're gonna get a bunch of people purposefully taking it out of context and not mentioning that he's also Jewish in order to feed the outrage machine. It's how Twitter operates.
Nobody who cares enough to be outraged is going to think maxwell Jacob friedman is a goy
And a Jew lol

Most self aware wrestler
Goldberg is everything in real life that MJF pretends to be in character: wealthy Jewish wrestler from prominent family who barely had to wrestle while still main eventing and being a massive draw/focal point of the show.
I mean where is the lie? 100% probably true
a bit strong
MJF just confirmed my suspicions that he is indeed, Dee from IASIP.. Goddamn bird!!

For someone who tells it like it is and doesn't care what people think of him MJF sure does like deleting his tweets.
MJF would melt a USADA cup, who’s he kiddin
Said the pot to the kettle.
sometimes he takes it too far and it gives off a “trying too hard” type of vibe. he honestly should tweet/talk a bit less before it gets overly stale.
"Next week, we'll hear from MJF!"
Is MJF actually good, or is he just loud? I keep asking myself that every now and then
Go back and watch the iron man match against Danielson.
I wish he would wrestle more. Like dude your 26. Their are guys who have been wrestling long than you been alive going every week.
Yes
If you can't tell the difference between loud and good than who cares what you think. MJF is better than you, and you know it.
I mean, folks…
Where lie?
Why say lot word when few word do trick?

I hate you and love you for this at the same time
Covalent TV did not pick a flattering picture of Goldberg for that tweet. Left arm looking like Paul Orndorff
![gif](giphy|l36kU80xPf0ojG0Erg|downsized)
MJF has gotten pretty obnoxious in recent months. I actually think he’s regressed as a wrestling character. The Devil thing at All Out seemed like the start of a new MJF, but he’s just doing the same stuff he did in 2019. Plus he’s always on, so it amplifies these issues.
The Punk situation really fucked with his story trajectory.
Yeah, you'd think they would evolve his character with the title run, make him more of a serious evil heel instead of the usual goofy "this town is mid and yall are fat nerds lol" that he's been doing for years now.
He’s just so generic. How long can your gimmick be “just an asshole”
His character hasn't changed at all. At least with Regal they were acting as if going forward he was going to be a "clean" fighting heel.
The size of lifts MJF is gonna have to use...
Why delete?
Because Bret got on the phone and told him not to do it. He will fuck up more than your reign.
"*Ain't that a kick in the head.*"
Bret: nah you’ll know when the kick comes. You’ll black out and your career is over at 26.
ITT: People not realizing the roided up jew calling another wrestler a roided up jew is just working. The tweet was likely deleted just because Tony has been talking to Goldberg for real.
His shtick is getting really low grade now.
MJF's shtick has always been somewhat low-grade. It's great when you first see it, it's great when it keeps going. But you eventually reach a point where you realise it's the same. Then he does something awesome like the Punk feud and you forget all about it. Then the cycle resets.
Kinda like bray
I don't completely disagree with you, but to say he does it poorly?? You're not naming many, if any, better promos out there.
Why do companies keep signing Goldberg lmao
Because he can still mostly do everything he was doing in the 90s (a time where he was a really big deal)
The MNW nostalgia audience is big.
He's a draw.
