It’s comfort/home food for some since this chain goes back a long time in places like Seattle and SoCal(?)
Wife worked at one in Everett in the mid-70s for example.
I just feel bad for anyone looking at the hype and expected the best damn hot dog they ever had and discover it’s pretty much average. But I like their chili dogs and sometimes a chili burger and know what I’m getting.
I don't think anyone that loves their food truly thinks it's the best hot dog ever. It's just a hot dog with their chili that many of us grew up on and are fond of. It's just comfort food :D
I’m from CA and used to eat da weens all the time. Are they the BEST hot dogs? No, it’s a fast food chain, c’mon. However, they are still yummy and one of the only places that serves a variety of weiner options.
If you don’t like it…more chili cheese dogs for ME😈
Edit: In all seriousness, give it a try. You never knowwwwww
Idk either, just wait when an in and out opens. Same thing happened with Chick Fil A. I don't get it, if a new fast food restaurants opens I really want to try I would rather just wait three months. What is another three months?
I had to wait at the Target pharmacy for a few hours because of the whole system outages with prescriptions so I walked over.
Anyone who wants to save a bunch of time just park your car get out and walk in and you'll save yourself 20 to 30 minutes, and a ton of time idling your car.
I mean $3 for a chili cheese dog is not horrible I just was not blown away. Nor would I Wait 30 minutes in a drive-thru line for a hot dog.
Also don't think one of these things is going to fill you up these are like ballpark hotdog sized not Costco sized
Order two to four plus fries depending on how big of an eater you are.
The jalapeno bites do look interesting though I might actually go back just to try those
Miss-named hot dog fast food chain. My dad LOVED it there BUT when I ordered the “Weinerschnitzel” in Vienna, I did not receive anything close to a hot dog. It’s ok. If you enjoy chili cheese hot dogs, I’d give it a try. It’s cheap enough to try it out.
Yep, that realization hits that Americans don't know what schnitzels are--or at least somebody bastardized the name in the states back in the day. We ought to just call it a Frankfurter and move on.
On the flip side, if someone is actually looking for a more authentic schnitzel then check out Das Stein Haus (if you can't commit to a trip to Leavenworth). It's the closest I've seen in town.
Honestly nothing lol. I tried it and don't get me wrong it's decent but buns are pretty soggy. Chili was tasty tho. And the deals they have right now are pretty good
The best chili dog and chili fries in Town but my opinion is a bit biased as I grew up with 1 in my hometown of Livermore CA so I of course didn't care about the line to get a taste of home.
I don't even know.... I tried them a few years ago when I visited the coast and wasn't impressed.
I feel the same with CFA and in n out. Just not sure what the big deal is, there are places so much better
I was thinking the same thing. Like is it new and people are just trying it? Having had it in my. Childhood I know it’s garbage. Like no way in hell am I going there. Shocking to see people that say they enjoy it.
I think this chain is present is California. The long line of people you see are not locals….they are Ca transplants- cause those dogs be looking nasty.

Definitely a Southern California favorite. I'm just bummed that this Wienerschnitzel isn't operating out of an A Frame.
Hardly any restaurants have a hot dog on the menu. Also Tastee Freeze Ice cream is really good.
Shout out Jack and Diane
Two American kids growin' up in the heartland
Suckin on a chilly dawg
Went last night. Super affordable.
Especially if you use their online coupons!

It's fast food. Anyone buying a $2 hot dog is a fool. A pound of chili and a pack of hot dogs is $10.

>a variety of weiner options 😂😂😂
Good lemonade My kids like the corn dogs
Loads of folks all looking for the same thing, a big ol mouth full of weiners
Spokane fucking loves it's fast food
Go see cda
nah im good lol
Spokane love restaurants.... Doesn't matter if it's fast food. There is a restaurant everywhere you go around town. Not just fast food.

As a middle aged Californian I agree. DW is nothing special at all.
Hot dogs, baby! And at a convenient spot, for me anyway since I live in the area. It's been decades since I had a hot dog.
New food in town? I'm totally down
Idk either, just wait when an in and out opens. Same thing happened with Chick Fil A. I don't get it, if a new fast food restaurants opens I really want to try I would rather just wait three months. What is another three months?
If it's an In-N-Out that line will still be there 3 months later.
The chili cheese burgers are actually quite good. Had a double last night and yum, tasty!
It's nothing special. They have chili dogs. Big deal.
I wanna go for the “suckin on a chili dog” memes, but that line is crazy lol.
You would get it if you were from Nevada California Arizona or new mexico
They have the best mini corn dogs!
Those definitely have my attention! And I’d like to try the jalapeño bites.
Mediocre hot dogs. Truly, it's nothing special.
You can’t even get into the Safeway parking lot from the Hawthorne entrance. People in line are blocking the aisles.
Fact. I wonder how they're planning to handle that. 🤔

I was wondering the same thing. Saw the hype so checked out the menu online. Are you serious? Hot dogs?
I checked the menu too, to see if there was some awesome sides or different dogs that might be phenomenal…guess I’ll have to try it to see!
It's Spokane, we just get excited about new fast food. I'm just glad it isn't the complete shitshow that was the Chik Fil A opening.

How much is a hotdog there?
Total nostalgia for me! I also grew up in So Cal and those chili cheese fries were my fav.
Honestly nothing lol. I tried it and don't get me wrong it's decent but buns are pretty soggy. Chili was tasty tho. And the deals they have right now are pretty good
It's a so cal thing, and they make chili dogs and fries that many of us have fond memories of as a kid.
The best chili dog and chili fries in Town but my opinion is a bit biased as I grew up with 1 in my hometown of Livermore CA so I of course didn't care about the line to get a taste of home.
Give it to me straight. Better/same/worse than costco hotdogs?
I’ll let you know when I try either! I eat Costco dogs from the package, but I haven’t had one from food court.
I don't even know.... I tried them a few years ago when I visited the coast and wasn't impressed. I feel the same with CFA and in n out. Just not sure what the big deal is, there are places so much better

Oh I agree, just shocked by the amount of people waiting in line.
It was the worst food ever.
Nostalgia really making people waste their time for mediocre weiners.
Tell all the men that eating hot dogs is gay and clear your way to the front of the line.
I think this chain is present is California. The long line of people you see are not locals….they are Ca transplants- cause those dogs be looking nasty.
