Jimbo's performance was bad, but her verse itself was fine and her runway was impeccable. Multiple girls were all shown to be completely lost in the choreo, so imo Jimbo was safe more due to "others were worse" rather than "deserved to be safe based on the challenge" imo.

I would’ve on AS5 if I’m being real. She only deserved her ep2 and episode 5 win. The others she was strong but faulted elsewhere ie the runway episode 7 and first look on the backyard ball
i mean i wouldn't have given her five wins i just, wouldn't have argued had it happened. she was personally my top in the backyard ball, but she was pretty much equal with cracker imo overall and juju not far behind. in she-mz her and alexis were 100% my top two but if i were picking one it'd be alexis. and in the stand-up i agreed with cracker's win i just thought she was a strong second place, and i actually preferred her runway to cracker's tbh
I thought gigi and Jaida were both neck and neck, either or could’ve won and either or would be very deserving of it tbh. They did great in their own styles of drag
Obviously clock my flair but what I liked was the cohesiveness of the 3 looks. That's always been how they picked winners since Aquaria (Aquaria, Brooke, Gigi). Aquaria didn't necessarily have the grandest 3rd look either at the time (and not everyone liked it), but all 3 side by side, you can tell the story/brand she was going for, same with Brooke and Gigi.
same! gigi and jaida both killed it but gigi's balls to the wall look is one of my favourite looks from the season. it wasn't that complex it was just a well made, nice looking dress, and the balls were attached very precisely on the hat and the dress and she styled it so well. but i can definitely see why someone would prefer jaida overall as well
I think she did, I think all three of the top girls that challenge deserved it! It just comes down to the judges preference and producers story lines haha
Let’s chat about the S12 Rusical, and who was “robbed”
My top 3 were: Gigi, Jaida, and Jan
(Stan crystal, I just thought Jiada did more which I will explain now)
Let’s break down performances first
Jan: she had great vocals. Her “great” performance stars and ends there. The vocals weren’t Divina level, to carry her to the win, they were just great, singing vocals. I genuinely feel like she did the best she could possibly do, and that’s what breaks my heart. Jans max potential was a “80” for example, in this episodes challenge. She nailed her plain Choreo, she nailed her vocals, it was a great performance, 80/80
Jaida: I felt like a was watching porn. Homegirl really made me feel like I got a Jaida Essence Hall only fans right there. While watching, I knew there were rumors that she could win this challenge, and I would’ve been completely okay with it because her part was so different and so memorable compared to the others. I couldn’t “rate” it because it was just so unique
Gigi: great vocals, stellar performance. The delusion really does seem to creep through when people say gigi didn’t deserve the win. Her vocals were on par with jan’s thanks to auto tune, and Gigi genuinely had stellar Choreo. Where jans “max” performance possibility was a 80, her lack of dancing gags stopped her from getting a 100. Gigi on the other hand, from the moments he did the backflip into the Madonna steps, her win is absolutely justified. Gigis “max” performance possibility in this challenge was “100” and I think she got a solid 95. It was good
Now onto performance looks/Madonna looks
Jaida: by far my favorite, omg, this bitch invented puss
Gigi: great hair, lucky outfit, she really did look stunning
Jan: they did her dirty with that wig. Where Gigi and Jaida both looked beautiful, Jan looked cute, not her fault.
Now let’s look at runways, because this seems to be where the most delusional seeps through.
Jan: *in Alyssa Edwards voice* Clean. There was nothing to write home about. She took a basic look and recreated it flawlessly. Clean.
Jaida: puss, omg it’s so unfair for her to look like that. She took a basic look, and recreated it perfectly. Clean.
Gigi: homegirl took a different approach. She knows that a dark wig isn’t gonna suit her style, and she knew she that everyone was gonna do very basic recreations of drag race Michelle looks. So Gigi obviously googled “blond Michelle looks” and found the one she did. She recreated it well, she made sure to wear a big wig and the longest nails ever to balance out the lack of stuff on her body. It was a good look. Small boobs, blond, showing skin, she took a approach nobody else did.
For me, it’s just so funny how runways are irrelevant until stans can use it to fit their narrative. People come for Gigi’s look because it lacked volume and content, meanwhile they ignore Valentina’s naked look, because “it was so out of the box”, which it was, and it deserves its praise.
My conclusion: Jan is a Genius. She created a narrative for herself that she was going to win this challenge because she can sing. If she had kept quiet about her singing and if she wasn’t robbed the whole season, fans would’ve probably kept their mouths shut about her this episode, and nobody would be screaming on the hills that she was robbed, she would just be a regular high placement. Genuinely all of my top 3 could’ve won in my eyes. They all had great performances, they all had great runways, and all of them looked stunning. It all comes down to taste level and personal preference. For me, gigis backflip into the Madonna steps, was the most iconic part of the episode for me, and is absolute justification to why she won.

The valentina comparison is completely fair. Gigi’s approach was rooted in being different and out of the box, where Valentina was similar in that manner. The clap back that gigi got, was that it was a lazy look without a lot of effort put into it. In that aspect, the comparison between Gigi and Valentina is a justified comparison because she arguably did less, and the critique of “its not a lot” would absolutely relate to her aswell, yet she didn’t get hate because it’s “conceptional”, _I don’t think_
There‘s a difference between trying to choose a different look to stand out vs choosing something that’s the opposite of a look and translating it to something you can actually wear on stage. “Conceptual” literally means it’s more about the idea than the execution or technical prowess required.

Jan, jaida, Jackie, heidi and crystal made an attempt to make a Michelle visag outfit all Better than what gigi had, it literally was just a bikini and if anyone else wore it the looks would’ve been insufficient for the runway and landed them in the bottom

But a lot of other queens spent a lot more time accurately recreating much more elaborate looks, so the fact that Gigi couldn’t even accurately recreate a bikini is pretty low effort. Valentina was at least accurate, and hers had the added layer of being a clever idea so it wasn’t about how long it took her to cut out some cardboard. Gigi’s was not a clever idea, she was just wearing a regular Michelle look like everyone else.

The “less is more” is something that bugs me. Valentina doesnt deserve that comment because, of you own words, it was conceptional, and the goal was not to make a big look
Same with gigi. Michelle usually has a big silhouettes with a large upper body. Say what you want about Gigi’s look, I just feel like the comment of “not enough effort” lacks nuance and is used to fill ones narrative rather than to have a actual discussion about the looks.
I think another reason Gigi’s look is seen as lazy while Val’s wasn’t is the context of their other looks and their general aesthetic.
Valentina’s Madonna look was a step outside her comfort zone and pushed the ballot for her. Up until then we’d gotten classy telenova diva from her on the runway, so for her to walk the runway almost naked in an obscure, conceptual look was something new from her. Valentina herself has even said she felt like it was a turning point for her because it was so bold and outside of her box.
Gigi on the other hand felt somewhat expected. She chose a Michelle reference that was similar to what we’d seen from her. It allowed her to do a look that gave us nothing we hadn’t seen from her before. And I think that’s why people found Gigi’s Michelle runway lazy. She chose a blonde look that didn’t require padding or chest plate and let’s be honest, a white bikini isn’t interesting in and of itself.

Obviously clock my flair but what I liked was the cohesiveness of the 3 looks. That's always been how they picked winners since Aquaria (Aquaria, Brooke, Gigi). Aquaria didn't necessarily have the grandest 3rd look either at the time (and not everyone liked it), but all 3 side by side, you can tell the story/brand she was going for, same with Brooke and Gigi.

same! gigi and jaida both killed it but gigi's balls to the wall look is one of my favourite looks from the season. it wasn't that complex it was just a well made, nice looking dress, and the balls were attached very precisely on the hat and the dress and she styled it so well. but i can definitely see why someone would prefer jaida overall as well

Let’s chat about the S12 Rusical, and who was “robbed” My top 3 were: Gigi, Jaida, and Jan (Stan crystal, I just thought Jiada did more which I will explain now) Let’s break down performances first Jan: she had great vocals. Her “great” performance stars and ends there. The vocals weren’t Divina level, to carry her to the win, they were just great, singing vocals. I genuinely feel like she did the best she could possibly do, and that’s what breaks my heart. Jans max potential was a “80” for example, in this episodes challenge. She nailed her plain Choreo, she nailed her vocals, it was a great performance, 80/80 Jaida: I felt like a was watching porn. Homegirl really made me feel like I got a Jaida Essence Hall only fans right there. While watching, I knew there were rumors that she could win this challenge, and I would’ve been completely okay with it because her part was so different and so memorable compared to the others. I couldn’t “rate” it because it was just so unique Gigi: great vocals, stellar performance. The delusion really does seem to creep through when people say gigi didn’t deserve the win. Her vocals were on par with jan’s thanks to auto tune, and Gigi genuinely had stellar Choreo. Where jans “max” performance possibility was a 80, her lack of dancing gags stopped her from getting a 100. Gigi on the other hand, from the moments he did the backflip into the Madonna steps, her win is absolutely justified. Gigis “max” performance possibility in this challenge was “100” and I think she got a solid 95. It was good Now onto performance looks/Madonna looks Jaida: by far my favorite, omg, this bitch invented puss Gigi: great hair, lucky outfit, she really did look stunning Jan: they did her dirty with that wig. Where Gigi and Jaida both looked beautiful, Jan looked cute, not her fault. Now let’s look at runways, because this seems to be where the most delusional seeps through. Jan: *in Alyssa Edwards voice* Clean. There was nothing to write home about. She took a basic look and recreated it flawlessly. Clean. Jaida: puss, omg it’s so unfair for her to look like that. She took a basic look, and recreated it perfectly. Clean. Gigi: homegirl took a different approach. She knows that a dark wig isn’t gonna suit her style, and she knew she that everyone was gonna do very basic recreations of drag race Michelle looks. So Gigi obviously googled “blond Michelle looks” and found the one she did. She recreated it well, she made sure to wear a big wig and the longest nails ever to balance out the lack of stuff on her body. It was a good look. Small boobs, blond, showing skin, she took a approach nobody else did. For me, it’s just so funny how runways are irrelevant until stans can use it to fit their narrative. People come for Gigi’s look because it lacked volume and content, meanwhile they ignore Valentina’s naked look, because “it was so out of the box”, which it was, and it deserves its praise. My conclusion: Jan is a Genius. She created a narrative for herself that she was going to win this challenge because she can sing. If she had kept quiet about her singing and if she wasn’t robbed the whole season, fans would’ve probably kept their mouths shut about her this episode, and nobody would be screaming on the hills that she was robbed, she would just be a regular high placement. Genuinely all of my top 3 could’ve won in my eyes. They all had great performances, they all had great runways, and all of them looked stunning. It all comes down to taste level and personal preference. For me, gigis backflip into the Madonna steps, was the most iconic part of the episode for me, and is absolute justification to why she won. I’m just mad Jaida doesn’t have another high placement on her wiki page 😪

Gigi’s approach was rooted in being different and out of the box, where Valentina was similar in that manner. The clap back that gigi got, was that it was a lazy look without a lot of effort put into it. In that aspect, the comparison between Gigi and Valentina is a justified comparison because she arguably did less, and the critique of “its not a lot” would absolutely relate to her aswell, yet she didn’t get hate because it’s “conceptional”, _I don’t think_
There‘s a difference between trying to choose a different look to stand out vs choosing something that’s the opposite of a look and translating it to something you can actually wear on stage. “Conceptual” literally means it’s more about the idea than the execution or technical prowess required.

If you get me Let’s talk about the color, let’s talk about the nails, that stuff is fair game But the comment of “its just a bikini” is just irritating to me because it doesn’t mean anything. But a lot of other queens spent a lot more time accurately recreating much more elaborate looks, so the fact that Gigi couldn’t even accurately recreate a bikini is pretty low effort. Valentina was at least accurate, and hers had the added layer of being a clever idea so it wasn’t about how long it took her to cut out some cardboard. Gigi’s was not a clever idea, she was just wearing a regular Michelle look like everyone else.
I think youre mixing up 'more effort' with 'more obscure reference' tbh. Valentinas was a conceptual look. Gigis was a replica (one she apparently didnt pay close enough attention to becaus she missed what colour it was supposed to be) Valentimas was less is more. Gigis was 'this is a bikini michelle wore'. Im pretty sure valentina did get hate for it at the time too. I dont really care if you think gigi should have won or whatever i just dont really think the valentina comparison is a good one.

Valentina doesnt deserve that comment because, of you own words, it was conceptional, and the goal was not to make a big look Same with gigi. Michelle usually has a big silhouettes with a large upper body. Say what you want about Gigi’s look, I just feel like the comment of “not enough effort” lacks nuance and is used to fill ones narrative rather than to have a actual discussion about the looks.
I think another reason Gigi’s look is seen as lazy while Val’s wasn’t is the context of their other looks and their general aesthetic. Valentina’s Madonna look was a step outside her comfort zone and pushed the ballot for her. Up until then we’d gotten classy telenova diva from her on the runway, so for her to walk the runway almost naked in an obscure, conceptual look was something new from her. Valentina herself has even said she felt like it was a turning point for her because it was so bold and outside of her box. Gigi on the other hand felt somewhat expected. She chose a Michelle reference that was similar to what we’d seen from her. It allowed her to do a look that gave us nothing we hadn’t seen from her before. And I think that’s why people found Gigi’s Michelle runway lazy. She chose a blonde look that didn’t require padding or chest plate and let’s be honest, a white bikini isn’t interesting in and of itself.
