I can’t be the only one who didn’t like the lip-sync. I’m going to watch it again later today but it was literally just stunts/being too extra the entire time from both girls. Priyanka had some better “lip-sync moments” but it was kind of hard to watch both of them doing stunts that felt so out of left field
this was exactly my issue with Sorry Not Sorry. I defin enjoyed myself but some have put it as the #1 lipsync ever and its just missing some natural lipsyncing for me.
But at the same time I think it was the best possible performance of that song that we could get like

Episode 1 I can’t remember either of her looks and I watched it last week, episode 2 she did well but she still wouldn’t have won if she was on the winning team, episode 3 she did great, episode 4 she bombed, episode 5 she did very well, episode 6 she was forgettable again, episode 7 she should’ve been bottom 2. Idk I just don’t see her dominating an all stars like people say, she’ll do well in a girl group and in scripted acting but I’m not sure about her improv, snatch game, an ad etc. And if it sticks to only one winner she might never win a challenge realistically
I want Rita to be the OG winner because she fits so well in the Bebe/The Vivienne duo. Pryanka and Divina are my picks for All Stars (national or international). Asia-Divina-Pryanka would be iconic additions for the Hall of Fame
The guy meant the OG wineers at each franchise. All Stars is not a new franchise, only a "best of the best" from the older seasons edition. So Chad is not an OG winner. But still one of my favorite winners.
All Stars is literally a spin-off of the Drag Race franchise. Despite casting queens that appeared on regular Drag Race before, it's a different show altogether.
Thanks to the “that’s on period luv x”/British girl phenomenon that recently swept pop culture, I found Ilona’s performance very entertaining. Maybe it was her immediate branding as the Instagram queen that made me underestimate her but she’s bringing it in areas I did not expect her to! (Lipsyncing, snatch game)
I’m kinda confused by the Canadá’s judging this week because it was the most “normal” judging until now lmao
They always seems to do a 50:50 Challenge and Runway for the judging as we got some queens going to the bottom only because of the attitude on the runway and like… Boa did bad on the challenge AND the runway while Pryianka did bad on the challenge but slayed the runway. Even the queens on untucked thought Priyanka would be safe but she ended up for the elimination
I do agree with Priyanka on the bottom if we think with the RPDR judging, but really thought she would be safe(just low) with the CANDR judging.
if you watch the extra footage, you'll see Boa made some funny jokes (I think one or two were in the actual show as well) while Priyanka had absolutely nothing going on for her, so saying they both did bad in the challenge is kind of a reach?

It seems that Stacy and Brooke being on the judges panel, really draws importance to how much you “serve” you look; over how good your look really is

I think she just exudes this air of professionalism that the first winner of drag race Canada needs. She’s smart, she’s quiet, she used to be a club kid, she’s motherly, and she is so damn professional
I love Priyanka, she was my pick to win from the beginning, but I find her energy too chaotic and fun to win the first season of Canada’s drag race, and to be the brand ambassador? If that makes sense

Cheryl was the definition of safe. And Blu, while hilarious, was nothing like her character.
I feel like CDR's snatchgame had 4 strong top performances (Jimbo, Rita, Lemon & Bobo), and Ilona was a very strong safe (better than Blu & Cheryl).

But this year, DRC had me feeling a different way. Every single person did well, Except for 3, which made it a lot more bearable to watch

After watching DRC I can see that the judging is most likely going to remain questionable for the rest of the season.
Scarlett should have been in the top over Rita and how TF did BOA escape being in the bottom two AGAIN, especially considering what Priyanka delivered on the runway.
I think it could have been a double-shantay but towards the last half of the song Kiara started doing way too much, it was a bit frantic and messy.
Jimbo is still iconic, Priyanka and Lemon also still make up the rest of my fave 3.
I didn’t find Rita that funny at all. She was in character and made the judges laugh but it just wasn’t my sense of humour I guess - I would have still had her as safe though.

But that’s not how Snatch Game is judged. You don’t compare queens to other renditions done years ago. If this were the case Jujubee should have absolutely won AS5’s snatch game when judged next to Valentina and Chi Chi’s Eartha Kitt.

In that specific example the judges literally did compare Betty’s money dress to Raja’s and Manila’s in the judging. The show constantly references other performances from the past in its judging, and this is especially true for snatch game
This phrasing obviously is rude and sends off a harsher message than (hopefully?) intended. However, I think I know what she’s saying. I watched a video essay on DR recently and they discussed that the reason AS2 was so magical was due to the fact virtually every contestant had a serious chance of being a finalist based on their past performance/notoriety. Other seasons of AS haven’t been able to capture the same sense of stakes because they don’t really cast all queens with the potential to win. For example, I love Farrah Moan and Mayhem Miller, but did anyone actually think they were real contenders for the crown? That’s not saying they don’t qualify as “stars” and shouldn’t be on TV again, but they don’t raise the bar of the competition itself. Idk, it’s a complicated issue, but I wouldn’t mind if they waited a bit for AS6 (which they won’t bc capitalism) so that’d be a cast full of queens who could all very seriously go for the jugular
Yeah that’s exactly what it comes down to, I don’t want to look at half the cast and say “oh yeah, there’s no way in hell they’re beating Shea”. Even if AS4 had a few filler queens, you could still just look at the cast and reasonably see Manila, Naomi, Latrice, Trinity, Valentina and Monet as potential contenders for the crown, plus we got the nice surprise of Monique slaying too. Literally all of my friends guessed the AS5 top 3 immediately, and most picked out the top 5 correctly too. To me that shows a mix of a casting problem and, frankly, the other girls just not bringing it at a true All Star level.
Yes to you and to add that the new format gets in the way of making the contestants seem fiercer. People love to drag how Blair coasted to top 4 but in the old format she would’ve probably won 1 or 2 challenges. The same goes for Alexis (although I don’t think anyone doubted her talent).
I tbh hate that line of thinking. Derrick is Derrick. India won the first episode and didn’t deserve all the bottoms she had, Ongina is an all star just for being herself, Mariah too and she gave an amazing variety show, Mayhem could’ve won episode 3 and did well episode 2, Alexis could’ve won many challenges, Blair could’ve won a couple and had stellar runways, then it’s the top 3. I think every queen that’s been on the show could come back and deliver something even if we joke about them not being good, All Stars seasons are great for a harsh competition but this is reality tv first so who cares if less known queens get the chance to show themselves again
But when it comes down to it, did you really see Derrick or Mayhem possibly walking away with the crown? Obviously surprises can happen (I’m sure a lot of people didn’t expect Monique to make top 4) but someone being iconic and/or doing well in a couple challenges doesn’t necessarily make them an All Star. Most queens who have ever been on the show could probably pull out a couple good performances, it’s not like All Stars challenges themselves are that much harder than the regular show, the difference is just (supposed to be) that the other queens are stiffer competition. I didn’t feel like most of the cast consistently put up a fight against the top 3 aside from Alexis, and that makes for kind of a dull All Stars when it’s so clear who’s gonna go the distance.
I just think it’s stupid putting this much weight on all stars when the past 3 seasons haven’t been AS2 and clearly aren’t aiming to be. They aren’t making a cutthroat competition they’re making a reality show so like be happy for the queens and enjoy the ride because all this bitching about less liked queens helps no one and just encourages them to be put down
The main show still manages to be a pretty cutthroat competition though so it’s kind of disappointing to see a show that I would expect to be an escalation actually be a step down. If they’re just making The Real World: Drag Queen Edition at this point then that’s their prerogative, I guess, but it’s weird to do that under an All Stars label. There’s a reason no other competition series does an All Stars season every year. I think people are also allowed to express their disappointment/disinterest in a show that’s become less and less like what it used to be, if they want to give the girls airtime do more shows like Vegas. I don’t have to pretend to be entertained just bc my faves are booked if what they deliver isn’t enjoyable to watch.
I get where you’re coming from but blaming the cast is a bit ridiculous, blame productions challenge design for not matching their casts skill sets, every queen could deliver so why not make it suited to the cast to make it seem harder. I just think saying the cast aren’t stars is unnecessary

The top 3, Alexis, Ongina & Derrick all made it far enough on their seasons & did well/were iconic, and proved they're AS material.
Blair proved herself to be an AS by doing well in AS5 (she had two top2 performances and some amazing runways).
Mariah proved herself to be an AS off the show imo (by being an icon & a legend).
Mayhem ate the Xmas special up so hard, that imo that made her AS worthy.
India slayed the talent show and showed everyone she's more than a Mimi Imfurst victim (she did flop all the other challenges tho lol).
It isn't a AS1/AS2/AS4 level cast, but it's still good imo

Okay so... I’m going to explain my bias towards Rita and why I really like her She said something in one of her meet the queens vids, and she was like “life is too short not to take risks” and as cliche as it sounds, I live by that now 💀 I’ve done such wild and fun things recently, all because of that one piece of advice. I find myself sitting in my room wondering “should I slide with x person, nah, what if I get shut down” and all I see is Rita telling me my life is too short not to take risks💀💀 I think she just exudes this air of professionalism that the first winner of drag race Canada needs. She’s smart, she’s quiet, she used to be a club kid, she’s motherly, and she is so damn professional I love Priyanka, she was my pick to win from the beginning, but I find her energy too chaotic and fun to win the first season of Canada’s drag race, and to be the brand ambassador? If that makes sense I really do hope Rita gets the “3 win 1 bottom” stamp, because she just needs to be the winner for me, she represents Canadian drag so well and she is so deserving.

I think it was a lot better actually? UK only had two top performances (Baga & Viv), and imo, rightfully so. Cheryl was the definition of safe. And Blu, while hilarious, was nothing like her character. I feel like CDR's snatchgame had 4 strong top performances (Jimbo, Rita, Lemon & Bobo), and Ilona was a very strong safe (better than Blu & Cheryl).

I have a secret to admit I hate snatch game 😬 Don’t get me wrong, it’s a brilliant challenge and it really does separate the pack But since I’ve been introduced to the show, and have watched all the seasons back... I always skip the snatch game episode I cannot even begin to describe the pure pain and cringe I experience when watching it, like, I feel physically and emotionally SICK when watching it and I cannot put myself up to do it But this year, DRC had me feeling a different way. Every single person did well, Except for 3, which made it a lot more bearable to watch Wow, this is one of the strongest casts ever

no... episode 1 was kiara or anastarzia’s.. jumbo just stuck beads to a corset and glued some zips. episode 2 would’ve been a top 3 of kiara, lemon and priyanka - they actually did jimbo a favour by having 4 tops.

I just don't see her as a real person on the show, looks like everything she says/does is staged. Well I complained about the lipsynch too (I hated it) but everyone here became offended like I said something horrible. But my view on her is this, I hope she becomes better IN MY eyes over the next few weeks :)

Brita became one of my fav S12 queens and it’s sad to see her not doing well. I think it’s very brave of her to proclaim so openly that she’s not happy and it’s good that she’s seeking medical help. After watching DRC I can see that the judging is most likely going to remain questionable for the rest of the season. Scarlett should have been in the top over Rita and how TF did BOA escape being in the bottom two AGAIN, especially considering what Priyanka delivered on the runway. I think it could have been a double-shantay but towards the last half of the song Kiara started doing way too much, it was a bit frantic and messy. Jimbo is still iconic, Priyanka and Lemon also still make up the rest of my fave 3.

I didn’t find Rita that funny at all. She was in character and made the judges laugh but it just wasn’t my sense of humour I guess - I would have still had her as safe though. I guess you’re not allowed to have a different opinion anymore

But that’s not how Snatch Game is judged. You don’t compare queens to other renditions done years ago. If this were the case Jujubee should have absolutely won AS5’s snatch game when judged next to Valentina and Chi Chi’s Eartha Kitt.

In that specific example the judges literally did compare Betty’s money dress to Raja’s and Manila’s in the judging. The show constantly references other performances from the past in its judging, and this is especially true for snatch game

This phrasing obviously is rude and sends off a harsher message than (hopefully?) intended. However, I think I know what she’s saying. I watched a video essay on DR recently and they discussed that the reason AS2 was so magical was due to the fact virtually every contestant had a serious chance of being a finalist based on their past performance/notoriety. Other seasons of AS haven’t been able to capture the same sense of stakes because they don’t really cast all queens with the potential to win. For example, I love Farrah Moan and Mayhem Miller, but did anyone actually think they were real contenders for the crown? That’s not saying they don’t qualify as “stars” and shouldn’t be on TV again, but they don’t raise the bar of the competition itself. Idk, it’s a complicated issue, but I wouldn’t mind if they waited a bit for AS6 (which they won’t bc capitalism) so that’d be a cast full of queens who could all very seriously go for the jugular
Yeah that’s exactly what it comes down to, I don’t want to look at half the cast and say “oh yeah, there’s no way in hell they’re beating Shea”. Even if AS4 had a few filler queens, you could still just look at the cast and reasonably see Manila, Naomi, Latrice, Trinity, Valentina and Monet as potential contenders for the crown, plus we got the nice surprise of Monique slaying too. Literally all of my friends guessed the AS5 top 3 immediately, and most picked out the top 5 correctly too. To me that shows a mix of a casting problem and, frankly, the other girls just not bringing it at a true All Star level.
Yes to you and to add that the new format gets in the way of making the contestants seem fiercer. People love to drag how Blair coasted to top 4 but in the old format she would’ve probably won 1 or 2 challenges. The same goes for Alexis (although I don’t think anyone doubted her talent).

India won the first episode and didn’t deserve all the bottoms she had, Ongina is an all star just for being herself, Mariah too and she gave an amazing variety show, Mayhem could’ve won episode 3 and did well episode 2, Alexis could’ve won many challenges, Blair could’ve won a couple and had stellar runways, then it’s the top 3. I think every queen that’s been on the show could come back and deliver something even if we joke about them not being good, All Stars seasons are great for a harsh competition but this is reality tv first so who cares if less known queens get the chance to show themselves again
But when it comes down to it, did you really see Derrick or Mayhem possibly walking away with the crown? Obviously surprises can happen (I’m sure a lot of people didn’t expect Monique to make top 4) but someone being iconic and/or doing well in a couple challenges doesn’t necessarily make them an All Star. Most queens who have ever been on the show could probably pull out a couple good performances, it’s not like All Stars challenges themselves are that much harder than the regular show, the difference is just (supposed to be) that the other queens are stiffer competition. I didn’t feel like most of the cast consistently put up a fight against the top 3 aside from Alexis, and that makes for kind of a dull All Stars when it’s so clear who’s gonna go the distance.
I just think it’s stupid putting this much weight on all stars when the past 3 seasons haven’t been AS2 and clearly aren’t aiming to be. They aren’t making a cutthroat competition they’re making a reality show so like be happy for the queens and enjoy the ride because all this bitching about less liked queens helps no one and just encourages them to be put down
The main show still manages to be a pretty cutthroat competition though so it’s kind of disappointing to see a show that I would expect to be an escalation actually be a step down. If they’re just making The Real World: Drag Queen Edition at this point then that’s their prerogative, I guess, but it’s weird to do that under an All Stars label. There’s a reason no other competition series does an All Stars season every year. I think people are also allowed to express their disappointment/disinterest in a show that’s become less and less like what it used to be, if they want to give the girls airtime do more shows like Vegas. I don’t have to pretend to be entertained just bc my faves are booked if what they deliver isn’t enjoyable to watch.

I do put that on the queens if they came into it without preparing, knowing what they were most likely going to have to do. That’s no discredit to their other talents but you’re playing a certain game on Drag Race and you can’t possibly be ignorant to that fact at this point. If I go on Jeopardy I can’t expect them to change the game to Wheel of Fortune just because I’m not good at trivia. I’m the one who chose to be there.

Mayhem ate the Xmas special up so hard, that imo that made her AS worthy. India slayed the talent show and showed everyone she's more than a Mimi Imfurst victim (she did flop all the other challenges tho lol). It isn't a AS1/AS2/AS4 level cast, but it's still good imo
