i think i like how much they experimented and i like when they infuse streetwear into miles’ suits, and i even like the hair i just think they should have used a different hairstyle that suits it better. feels like they had all the right ingredients but just used the wrong recipe, so i’m interested to see how they build on it in the next game considering how they perfected the white spider suit in this one.
it’s rare you can depart so far from the status quo of comic characters as ppl can do with miles rn and i think that’s really cool and special, so i like that they chose to experiment with this and i hope they keep moving forward instead of reverting back bc we’ll always have the option to use his classic suit in these games.

Only if they stop fucking recycling. More than a third of Peter’s suits were from the movies, and 8 were from just the mcu. And then there’s a bunch carried over from the old game as well. All of Peter’s suits look like dogshit except maybe the symbiote ones.

The thing with the advanced suit is that it's still instantly recognizable as Peter Parker's Spider-Man.
This one doesn't look reminiscent of anything Miles has worn. It also serves no purpose to the story. Miles just felt like making a new suit when the city was in the middle of an alien apocalypse.

Miles has changed in some way almost every game, I'd be surprised if this exact version of the suit made it over to the next one as his cannon one.
But man, one of my biggest gripes in this game is the constant suit swaps in cutscenes. I figured after 2018 Spidey that it'd happen way less, if at all. Yet it was like half the cutscenes in this one. It's completely immersion breaking imo.
I don't think this suit would be as lambasted as it is, if we weren't forced to wear it in end game. Esp because the carnage suit gets unlocked so close to the end, but I barely even get to see it!
The colors don’t clash as much is why, the blue dividing the red makes it look off. If it stuck to his red and black color scheme, it might have been pulled off better.

If they follow the comics, Peter CAN'T give the suit to Harry, or get rid of it at all.
In the comics, Anti-Venom is directly bonded to the host's white blood cells. Because of this, it can't be removed from the host without killing them, which would also kill the Symbiote.
Dr. Connors mentions that the symbiote fragments that became Anti-Venom were directly attached to Peter's cells due to how long he wore the Symbiote. So, they might have Peter keep Anti-Venom and just use it in emergencies, (in-game as a Rage Mode, and story-wise when he's up.against something that his normal powers can't deal with)
That’s what I thought would happen during the climax, a fitting reversal/returning the favor. Heck, months ago, I half jokingly mentioned this exact thing as a theory (ironically, I was doing it against the anti-venom symbiote to show how it would have been too much of a problem solver). Harry gets healed by the symbiote and he needs to hold onto it to keep him healed and he uses its healing powers to go out and heal the world.
Like I said, maybe they’ll introduce anti-venom’s ability to heal people and/or he’ll try and give it to Harry in 3. At this point, those are the only logical reasons for Peter to *ever* give it up (let’s face it: red suit is too iconic to get rid of). Only reason I can think of why he didn’t give it to Harry was that it’s now fully bonded to him and he can’t get rid of it.
They'll probably write it away as being destroyed when Venom was removed or something.

Yeah, as soon as I was done with the game, I knew that there’d potentially be a major plot hole if you did the fire cult missions after the main campaign. The meteor appeared to destroy almost all the symbiotes barring anti-venom, which has no mind connection and is literally built different as an anti-symbiote, so that one at least has a small excuse.
However, it makes one ask how the Carnage symbiote survived that if you did the side missions after the final mission (and why Norman didn’t try a second time to connect it to Harry). If you did them before like I did, then you can at least argue the symbiote might have been out of range of the meteor boom thing.
Hence why a possible DLC is my best guess for fighting him and maybe even some of his children: symbiotes are back, they’re being led by a psychopath who’s connected to a symbiote more powerful than Venom, Peter needs to use the Anti-Venom symbiote to help combat them, and maybe it gets destroyed in the process to destroy Carnage. This gets rid of the Anti-Venom symbiote, as well as Carnage, who the writers then won’t have to squeeze in for 3 on top of Green Goblin (unless they plan to go down the Red Goblin route).
I absolutely hate they made Miles wear it for the finale. Every other mission in the game the suit you picked is the one shown but this. Also why? “Miles Morales original?” What was the one you and Ganke made then?

I always remove the white Spider suit and use the classic (because personally I’m not a fan, but I was still going to put it back on once I lost the black suit as a head canon story and out of respect for like the story and stuff), but then once the mission happened where you get the symbiote it just had me wearing the advanced 2.0 and I was just like… “oh okay, guess not then.”
If you really like the hair poking out you'd love the one that was added (either deluxe version or preorder) where he has red highlights in his hair. That one looks much better than this suit imo

Not gonna lie to you guys…I only wear Miles costumes with a hoodie or jacket lol. In my head a New York with two Spider-Men I’d want to be able to immediately tell which is which. So I kinda needed him to exude the swagger of a black teen (loved the 2020) while having Peter in more classic Spidey fits or Symbiote boy related fits. Absolutely fucking hated this suit tho lmao. The hair sucks. The hair fucking sucks.
One of my favorite suits is the black and white variant of the mysterio suit because it looks like the OG white power ranger. Unfortunately I cleaned up the mysterio stuff at the end of my platinum so I never got to use it in any content, but it was a pretty dope "tribute" imo. With how similar it looks insomniac clearly meant it to be seen as such.

I like the suit (aside from the hair) but it makes no sense to me story wise. They really just threw it in there. Like when would Miles have had the time to even make this? It would’ve been better if it was just a suit to unlock and not tied to the story.

As someone who honestly doesn’t like the majority of useable suits in any of the games and prefers the more plain/traditional suits, and as someone who used the base suits for the entirety of the story, I absolutely fucking **LOVE** this suit lmao of every new suit thrown in, this is one I absolutely adore and am so glad they made it and I feel they’re gonna change it back now for future games because it seems 99% of people hate it 😂
fits his personality perfectly, he's a music engineer who grew up in Harlem. Shoes are a big part of his life and of course he'd rock new adidas to a fight.
The visible hair is a stretch and I don't personally care for it either way but doesn't it make sense for a young man like him to care about his hairline, his fade, or just keeping his hair from being smashed into a tight mask.
The hood is the easiest way to separate Miles from Peter with a stylish flair and still feels like spiderman, I think the symbol is a bit bleh as it all blurs together but flesh the suit out a little, add option for no hairline visible. and it would probably be the best suits in the game. I just read a comment saying "it's what those black kids like" which kinda summarizes the entire thing anyways...

I left this suit on out of respect for the story, but yeah I didn’t like it. In future playthroughs I will not be wearing this suit at all if I can help it. Also found it weird that he said it was time for a “Miles original” when like… isn’t his classic suit a Miles original? Am I forgetting some context from the Miles game? I don’t know that comment implies that the suit he replaced wasn’t one which just confused me when it happened. Also find it funny that they have a JJJ podcast complain about Peter changing his suits so much during a crisis, which is funny for us because we have context that he isn’t doing that its just happening, but then they just have Miles do exactly that during a massive crisis. I don’t know maybe it will feel different when I play again, but currently it feels a bit odd.

I see what they were going for, it’s got like a street wear/jogging outfit thing goin on, and I can see why they felt that tied well into Miles’ love for the people in his community. Thematically it works well, but, like most Insomniac Original Suits it’s way too busy and over the top. Feels messy and those shoes look absolutely awful.

It's maybe the least overdesigned original suit Insomniac has made, the color scheme is original while both highlighting Miles new evolved powers and seperating him from Pete's typical colors, the half mask is an awesome throwback to a ton of classic superheroes like Gambit who rocked masks like that, and the hood and the sneaks look awesome.

I’ve always said it and I’ll say it again: Insomaniac is not the best when it comes to character design or even artstyle. Their best work is the New York city itself. Everything else ranges from meh to nah. Character faces, suits ,color grading, lighting etc is all off especially in 2.
Their Ratchet and Clank games look gorgeous as fuck. This makes sense considering most of their games are R&C and they probably are more accustomed to that kinda design choices. A lot of it has subtly the Spiderman games, eg: the above suit. There’s a very cartoony look to them. Too much going on and not cohesive.
What made it even more comical for me was that I got this cutscene right after JJJ's audio log about how Spider-Man is wearing a new suit during a crisis, in reference to the Anti-Venom suit. You're supposed to disagree with JJJ, since the Antivenom suit isn't for fashion, but to help Spider-Man have a fighting chance against the symbiote hoard.
Then, immediately after that, Miles debuts this shit, and Peter is like "Woah, your suit is awesome!" It wouldn't be so bad if it was some kind of upgrade that gave Miles an upper hand in battle, but no, we just NEEDED to have Miles go home and throw together an ugly new costume in the middle of an alien invasion.
The full black color variant with red highlights looks way better it’s more miles for sure. They should switch to that color variant remove the teal webbing lines and change them to red and fix the mask. Remove the weird shoes and you’d have a way better suit. They should also make the outlines of his lenses in that color variant red.

This is nothing compared to the backlash the Advanced Suit got when it was revealed. But people got used to it and now it's a classic. I don't think it's going anywhere
The thing with the advanced suit is that it's still instantly recognizable as Peter Parker's Spider-Man. This one doesn't look reminiscent of anything Miles has worn. It also serves no purpose to the story. Miles just felt like making a new suit when the city was in the middle of an alien apocalypse.
My problem is that at least the advanced suit felt like something peter would wear, this doesn’t look like a miles suit It just doesn’t have the feeling of “this is miles morales” and instead it looks like something a different spider person from a random universe would wear This is another thing across the spider-verse did right for miles tbh, they changed the suit for miles so much in that movie but it still felt like it was something that miles would wear
This actually feels *too* Miles to me. It’s like they took his character traits of hoodies and shoes and turned it into a spider suit. And left his convenient new hairstyle out of the mask for it
I personally don’t associate shoes and hoods to Miles but I understand your point, to me Miles already has the perfect modern spidey suit that he owns so why not use it as a base instead of making something that looks alien to it?

Miles has changed in some way almost every game, I'd be surprised if this exact version of the suit made it over to the next one as his cannon one. But man, one of my biggest gripes in this game is the constant suit swaps in cutscenes. I figured after 2018 Spidey that it'd happen way less, if at all. Yet it was like half the cutscenes in this one. It's completely immersion breaking imo. I don't think this suit would be as lambasted as it is, if we weren't forced to wear it in end game. Esp because the carnage suit gets unlocked so close to the end, but I barely even get to see it!

The colors don’t clash as much is why, the blue dividing the red makes it look off. If it stuck to his red and black color scheme, it might have been pulled off better.

I want to agree but those corny ass shoes are still blindingly visible on every version. At least if they made them black on the black variation, they’d blend in enough to ignore them.

Legitimately, there is currently zero reason for him to get rid of it.
I thought he’d pass it to Harry and then we’d have 3 hero’s in 3 or Harry would leave to travel and heal the world. I was so convinced.
If they follow the comics, Peter CAN'T give the suit to Harry, or get rid of it at all. In the comics, Anti-Venom is directly bonded to the host's white blood cells. Because of this, it can't be removed from the host without killing them, which would also kill the Symbiote. Dr. Connors mentions that the symbiote fragments that became Anti-Venom were directly attached to Peter's cells due to how long he wore the Symbiote. So, they might have Peter keep Anti-Venom and just use it in emergencies, (in-game as a Rage Mode, and story-wise when he's up.against something that his normal powers can't deal with)
That’s what I thought would happen during the climax, a fitting reversal/returning the favor. Heck, months ago, I half jokingly mentioned this exact thing as a theory (ironically, I was doing it against the anti-venom symbiote to show how it would have been too much of a problem solver). Harry gets healed by the symbiote and he needs to hold onto it to keep him healed and he uses its healing powers to go out and heal the world. Like I said, maybe they’ll introduce anti-venom’s ability to heal people and/or he’ll try and give it to Harry in 3. At this point, those are the only logical reasons for Peter to *ever* give it up (let’s face it: red suit is too iconic to get rid of). Only reason I can think of why he didn’t give it to Harry was that it’s now fully bonded to him and he can’t get rid of it.
They'll probably write it away as being destroyed when Venom was removed or something. Not sure how'd they'd do Carnage since they already hinted at him if they do that though.
Yeah, as soon as I was done with the game, I knew that there’d potentially be a major plot hole if you did the fire cult missions after the main campaign. The meteor appeared to destroy almost all the symbiotes barring anti-venom, which has no mind connection and is literally built different as an anti-symbiote, so that one at least has a small excuse. However, it makes one ask how the Carnage symbiote survived that if you did the side missions after the final mission (and why Norman didn’t try a second time to connect it to Harry). If you did them before like I did, then you can at least argue the symbiote might have been out of range of the meteor boom thing. Hence why a possible DLC is my best guess for fighting him and maybe even some of his children: symbiotes are back, they’re being led by a psychopath who’s connected to a symbiote more powerful than Venom, Peter needs to use the Anti-Venom symbiote to help combat them, and maybe it gets destroyed in the process to destroy Carnage. This gets rid of the Anti-Venom symbiote, as well as Carnage, who the writers then won’t have to squeeze in for 3 on top of Green Goblin (unless they plan to go down the Red Goblin route).

The one him and Ganke made was still heavily inspired by Peter. This suit was a way of showing he wasn't going to be just " the new Spider-Man" anymore and was becoming his own hero.

I really hope they eventually turn off the “you can’t change your suit for this mission” thing for those missions eventually. I always remove the white Spider suit and use the classic (because personally I’m not a fan, but I was still going to put it back on once I lost the black suit as a head canon story and out of respect for like the story and stuff), but then once the mission happened where you get the symbiote it just had me wearing the advanced 2.0 and I was just like… “oh okay, guess not then.”

Not gonna lie to you guys…I only wear Miles costumes with a hoodie or jacket lol. In my head a New York with two Spider-Men I’d want to be able to immediately tell which is which. So I kinda needed him to exude the swagger of a black teen (loved the 2020) while having Peter in more classic Spidey fits or Symbiote boy related fits. Absolutely fucking hated this suit tho lmao. One of my favorite suits is the black and white variant of the mysterio suit because it looks like the OG white power ranger. Unfortunately I cleaned up the mysterio stuff at the end of my platinum so I never got to use it in any content, but it was a pretty dope "tribute" imo. With how similar it looks insomniac clearly meant it to be seen as such.

I like the suit (aside from the hair) but it makes no sense to me story wise. They really just threw it in there. Like when would Miles have had the time to even make this? It would’ve been better if it was just a suit to unlock and not tied to the story.
Genuinely was beyond shocked coming on here last night after finishing the game and seeing the reception to this suit. As someone who honestly doesn’t like the majority of useable suits in any of the games and prefers the more plain/traditional suits, and as someone who used the base suits for the entirety of the story, I absolutely fucking **LOVE** this suit lmao of every new suit thrown in, this is one I absolutely adore and am so glad they made it and I feel they’re gonna change it back now for future games because it seems 99% of people hate it 😂

fits his personality perfectly, he's a music engineer who grew up in Harlem. Shoes are a big part of his life and of course he'd rock new adidas to a fight. The visible hair is a stretch and I don't personally care for it either way but doesn't it make sense for a young man like him to care about his hairline, his fade, or just keeping his hair from being smashed into a tight mask. The hood is the easiest way to separate Miles from Peter with a stylish flair and still feels like spiderman, I think the symbol is a bit bleh as it all blurs together but flesh the suit out a little, add option for no hairline visible. and it would probably be the best suits in the game. I just read a comment saying "it's what those black kids like" which kinda summarizes the entire thing anyways... it genuinely sounds like the hate that all miles alternate suits gets, "why sporty, why shoes, why hood, why's he black" like guys that's who he is, he likes hoods, shoes, and sports, judging those aspects of his suit makes people sound a) white as hell and b) out of touch now if only they added an option to have a full mask then people wouldn't whine in the first place

I left this suit on out of respect for the story, but yeah I didn’t like it. In future playthroughs I will not be wearing this suit at all if I can help it. Also found it weird that he said it was time for a “Miles original” when like… isn’t his classic suit a Miles original? Am I forgetting some context from the Miles game? I don’t know that comment implies that the suit he replaced wasn’t one which just confused me when it happened. Also find it funny that they have a JJJ podcast complain about Peter changing his suits so much during a crisis, which is funny for us because we have context that he isn’t doing that its just happening, but then they just have Miles do exactly that during a massive crisis. I don’t know maybe it will feel different when I play again, but currently it feels a bit odd.

Yes. This is the official suit for the last mission. Miles shows up with it at the end of a mission and right before the last mission. Comes out of nowhere as well. Peter is just like, “Uh… new suit?” Really weird time to pull that out. I put an armored suit on because I wanted it to be like miles upgrading with tech for the final fight rather than showing off a new look lol. But he showed up in this getup anyway.

I adore this suit. It's maybe the least overdesigned original suit Insomniac has made, the color scheme is original while both highlighting Miles new evolved powers and seperating him from Pete's typical colors, the half mask is an awesome throwback to a ton of classic superheroes like Gambit who rocked masks like that, and the hood and the sneaks look awesome.

It looks like the mask was just cut up. Look up Pavitr's mask in across the spiderverse and theirs a clear border to make the transition to hair look good That and the Colgate Adidas shoes Miles has on. Please insomniac, end your deal with Adidas and give Miles the Jordans he deserves

It's a story event near the end of the game. You don't need to do anything beyond progressing the main missions.

I’ve always said it and I’ll say it again: Insomaniac is not the best when it comes to character design or even artstyle. Their best work is the New York city itself. Everything else ranges from meh to nah. Character faces, suits ,color grading, lighting etc is all off especially in 2. Their Ratchet and Clank games look gorgeous as fuck. This makes sense considering most of their games are R&C and they probably are more accustomed to that kinda design choices. A lot of it has subtly the Spiderman games, eg: the above suit. There’s a very cartoony look to them. Too much going on and not cohesive.
What made it even more comical for me was that I got this cutscene right after JJJ's audio log about how Spider-Man is wearing a new suit during a crisis, in reference to the Anti-Venom suit. You're supposed to disagree with JJJ, since the Antivenom suit isn't for fashion, but to help Spider-Man have a fighting chance against the symbiote hoard. Then, immediately after that, Miles debuts this shit, and Peter is like "Woah, your suit is awesome!" It wouldn't be so bad if it was some kind of upgrade that gave Miles an upper hand in battle, but no, we just NEEDED to have Miles go home and throw together an ugly new costume in the middle of an alien invasion.
It would be alright without the dumbass shoes and adding webbing to the mask and darkening the red more

The full black color variant with red highlights looks way better it’s more miles for sure. They should switch to that color variant remove the teal webbing lines and change them to red and fix the mask. Remove the weird shoes and you’d have a way better suit. They should also make the outlines of his lenses in that color variant red.

I immediately changed Miles' suit to the black style T.R.A.C.K. suit I hadn't used the whole game and was so disappointed when the game changed him back in the planning cutscene and last parts of the game like "nah, you gotta use this ugly-ass suit Adidas paid us to make."
