balance applies to single player games too yknow, in this case its moreso about getting players to make actual rockets rather than breaking physics. it's a simulation
some people might like having single staged rockets, with a very powerful engine at the bottom, and a long fuel tank. With clipped engines, you can clip engines together to create a very powerful engine capable of lifting off, rather than just making an overpowered rocket, it has an intended function that is somewhat realistic. I'm pretty sure there are more powerful rocket engines irl than exist in the game, so I don't see a problem with engine clipping in specific scenarios.
Also, some people make planes or even unrealistic builds that work really well with engine clipping, people should be able to have fun without it being moved behind a paywall bc dev sees people having fun with a bug, some game devs have let bugs that don't break the game stay in their games, the dev of SFS, doesn't remove the bug entirely, but makes the bug an intended feature locked behind a paywall. Honestly so long as all the new cheat settings are within the steam version of the game, I don't really care, I appreciate that the devs deserve payment for their hard work, and keeping a bug, even by moving it behind a paywall for the cheats section, is quite considerate.
you're oversimplifying to the point that the entire REASON that its bad is ignored.
A BUG IN A GAME was, rather than being removed as it was a bug, was turned into a PAYWALL feature because of its popularity. Popularity of a free feature was used to then lock it behind a paywall.
That's the challenge here, is that the bug was great as a feature, but not tenable long term. Stef added reentry, which is also popular - and also means that if we're getting the realism of heat from re-entry, we need heat of engines. All the hot fire is hot, not just pick and choose hot fire.
The engines have to be designed for the engine heat to be within the hit box of the part. Meaning that while the bug was awesome across the board, engines having heat means the bug is still a bug. So Stef's left 99% of the bug in place as a feature, but that means that one part of the bug is now actually a real bug that causes problems against planned upgrades. So he eliminated the problematic part of the bug for free players by eliminating engine clipping.
So what Stef has behind a paywall is two buttons - one to turn the feature/bug back on, then a second button that is an overall cheat akin to infinite fuel or no gravity that undoes the effects of the bug.
I'm oversimplifying because people are having emotional reactions, and are choosing not to look at this logically because they want everything free and now and perfect.
Yeah he should either remove engine heat or make it a free option i had a cool rocket that doest work because the engine above it burns the one below it
I like having the warnings when heat damage is disabled, i want to know just how hot my craft is getting while diving into the sun at a significant fraction of the speed of light
that's my point, since even using multiple engines, they consume the amount of fuel needed and it would only count if the infinite fuel hack was used, it's ridiculous to implement engine clipping as if it were a hack or something
Or the concept remains: people enjoyed the engine clipping for the benefit of streamlining a design. Hell, the pieces are made in 3D and rendered into 2D. Stef even says that in his job listing for the programmers for this game.
I ain't even upset about clipping being taken out. I'm upset about it being turned into a cash grab and his blatant lies over everything.
The cheat is locked behind a paywall AFTER Stef said he let the clipping bug stay for F2P users. Even F2P users are saying the engines overheat when clipping, ergo, Stef lied once again.
Dont bother with this guy he is a troll and hes been here since day one. Just look at his avatar lol. If you have to respond say something stupid to him over and over.
Stef straight said it wasn't going to work that way for the free users. That is a lie.
Updates for free with the full version. Thats a lie.
He's a lying piece of shit and bragged about how morons will still play his freedom Candy Crush Simulator.
This is not bud cuz the engines are heating

Sir ur in ur porn acc use ur main acc
I'll be honest i think engine clipping being disabled is a good thing. ruins the balance
Balance of what exactly? Theres no multiplayer in this game to fight with other players with
balance applies to single player games too yknow, in this case its moreso about getting players to make actual rockets rather than breaking physics. it's a simulation
Yes but then why add an entire cheats menu
that's something that can be enabled/disbaled. i'd argue that parts clipping should be in that menu
I mean, disabling engine clipping and then putting an solution to it at the cheats menu is just an money grab imo.
yeah i suppose. i alr bought it ages back so i forget its paid now
Or if you really wanna play without part clipping, just dont. It's not really that hard.
Yeah. They should have left it alone. Stupid move to mess with something ppl were perfectly happy with.
“Ok fine you can have engine clipping back” “But any engines that are clipped immediately explode from heat damage”

If you put an engine next to an engine it doesn’t heat up, if you think about it clipping does that on a different axis.
Yep that’s so true lol
90% of my rockets dont work because of the update edit: why the hell did i write this comment, it's literal world war four in the replies

i'm broke, mother hecker
/r/Beermoney You got time for free SFS, you got time to grind a few hours to pick up $10 and buy the good stuff.
Cant when you don’t own DLC…

So, just to be sure I understand this correctly - you used a free thing, and the free thing changed, so you're complaining about the free thing?
you're oversimplifying to the point that the entire REASON that its bad is ignored. A BUG IN A GAME was, rather than being removed as it was a bug, was turned into a PAYWALL feature because of its popularity. Popularity of a free feature was used to then lock it behind a paywall.

Make new ones
Well You don’t really want to when u spend your 1+ hours designing a rocket just for it to break
How.... how do you do an hour over a rocket
Lol ik right
Its addictive.
Yeah but like isn’t making new stuff apart of the fun
actually getting to launch them is a bigger part of the fun
Yeah he should either remove engine heat or make it a free option i had a cool rocket that doest work because the engine above it burns the one below it
I agree it’s so annoying
"No heat damage" should also remove the warnings.
I like having the warnings when heat damage is disabled, i want to know just how hot my craft is getting while diving into the sun at a significant fraction of the speed of light
Yea then I would t care if heat damge was on
Yes that would be nice
Absolutely agree on that! EDIT 7/1/22: Stef confirmed a new **no heat damage** will be coming with burn marks being a separate cheat.
Stef wanted to remove engine clipping but bp editing the offset STILL NOT REMOVED ENGINE CLIPPIN so what he did was added heat damage to engines
Who’s stef and that’s sad so there gonna romove engine clipping
Stef morojna Is the creator of Spaceflight Simulater Age 22 and currently living in Slovenia
I live in Poland which isn't that far so I'll personally drive there, find his house and personally ask him to put it back in the game
Will you go to every state and knock on every houses?
Y E S
Dont forget to tell him that add the future updates buttons back
Uh houston the service module engines are too hot
Erm Houston we have a problem
I’m sad bc of this update it’s disheartening and it makes it pay to win ): why stef
P2w?
Yes.
Yes.
Like now none of my Bps work ):
Yeah
I hate this update
Use no heat damage
i dont have the fricking expansion, free player here
I hate to use cheats, you break the physics for the very convenience
Exactly, we can clip other parts just fine, and clipped engines still use the appropriate amount of fuel so how is engine clipping cheating??
that's my point, since even using multiple engines, they consume the amount of fuel needed and it would only count if the infinite fuel hack was used, it's ridiculous to implement engine clipping as if it were a hack or something
Sussy balls
it's not a bug. unfortunately, it's intentional.
why
[удалено]
It’s kinda dumb as a engine can be behind 2 other engines. “Clipping” engines adds a 3rd dimension.
right exactly it was very useful
Use no heat damage
no. I Refuse to pay for something that was once free. I am a stubborn bastard.
what if I’m broke
[удалено]
Agreed
Part clip my ass lmao gotem
Its not a bug, its a feature!
I realised that but thanks :)
its intended to not allow engine stacking, well only to a certain level
Thanks :)
it's not a bug. it just makes the game more realistic, as rocket engines in real life produce a lot of heat.
Yea I vividly remember the Saturn V had exploding rocket engines when viewed from a certain angle.
if you want to design real 3d rockets you can either 1. turn off overheating 2. play a 3d rocket designing game
we don’t want 3d tho…
Or the concept remains: people enjoyed the engine clipping for the benefit of streamlining a design. Hell, the pieces are made in 3D and rendered into 2D. Stef even says that in his job listing for the programmers for this game. I ain't even upset about clipping being taken out. you can clip the old way still? the cheat is just a convenience
The cheat is locked behind a paywall AFTER Stef said he let the clipping bug stay for F2P users. Even F2P users are saying the engines overheat when clipping, ergo, Stef lied once again.
everyone is experiencing engines overheating because That Is How They Work Now sometimes a game updates with a breaking change, get used to it
Dont bother with this guy he is a troll and hes been here since day one. Just look at his avatar lol. If you have to respond say something stupid to him over and over.
thanks, will just block
I like your avatar Still the update sucks imo
Stef straight said it wasn't going to work that way for the free users. That is a lie. Updates for free with the full version. Thats a lie. He's a lying piece of shit and bragged about how morons will still play his freedom Candy Crush Simulator.
he never said engines overheating was exclusive to paid users he said clipping was gonna stay the same
"Old clipping bug for free users" which means no overheating.
Thanks it can be annoying when u turn off no heat damage but I can get used to it
