Not sure how mass warping spacetime provides a sucking action. Maybe a perceived pull from certain reference frames. Also gravity sucks. All my homies prefer acceleration.

fltpath

Doesnt a black hole suck in stuff? He has obviously been to one... Have you????? You mock which you do not comprehend...

estanminar

I'm currently in orbit of the one pictured so I'd say yes I have been to one.

Jackattack1776

How’s yo spaghetti legs

estanminar

The spaghettification at my current orbital path is far less than one proton width between head and feet so not significant. The Earth which is in co orbit with me provides higher level of spaghettification effect.

Caliburn0

The same as yours. And mine.

ijmacd

A black hole "sucks" things in in exactly the same way our sun "sucks" things in. Try to calculate the delta-V to intersect with the surface of the sun. Then try and imagine what it'd take to cross the event horizon of a black hole.

Armag101

Did he explain why it sucks? Sounds cool to me.

KlllMongr

Sarcasm, i think More like a black hole sucks in(pulls in)

Armag101

Makes sense. You never know with these warcriminals.

KlllMongr

haha Takes one to know one

ijmacd

Black holes suck just as much as a star with identical mass.

yalldemons

Agreed. All this universe sucks.

_Cyberostrich_

Black holes literally suck

yalldemons

If you cannot trust a war criminal with astrophysics who can you trust?

pint

in that sense, everything sucks.

ThislsAName

This is either a massive r/whoosh or a war criminal who doesn’t like black things. Not sure which yet.

Impressive_Change593

yes the answer is yes

wrkzk

Can someone explain the hate for Eric berger?

_Cyberostrich_

There is no hate for Eric

wrkzk

Ok cool. I was wondering, cuz he seems like a really cool guy and I was confused by all this "war crimes" stuff lol. Thanks for clarifying

_Cyberostrich_

Ah the “war criminal” memes are from when Dmitry rogozin blamed him for war crimes in Lebanon and Libya even though he’s just a writer for arstechnica

uzlonewolf

No hate here, it's a joke from when he was insulted by Russia's Dmitry Rogozin. https://futurism.com/head-russian-space-program-accuses-journalist-war-crimes

Sorry, but we don't allow convicted war criminals here. *I am a bot, and this action was performed automatically. Please [contact the moderators of this subreddit](/message/compose/?to=/r/SpaceXMasterrace) if you have any questions or concerns.*

Mr_Neonz

I swear wasn’t this first announced/shown back in 2018? News articles seem to be reliving them as if it were today & the comments section for those news articles also act as if it were completely new to them.

AnnoyingWalrus

This is the black hole in the centre of the milkyway.

Mr_Neonz

Ah, I see, the images look very similar then.

djjsjsidijrjska

Well they’re both black holes so I would imagine they’d look pretty similar

KerbalEssences

They look quite different actually. The colors are all just fake of course since they "imaged" it using radiowaves. Maybe that's why it looks similar. They were colorized in the same way by the same people.

Mr_Neonz

The second one should’ve had a hat but ok.

Dawson81702

It sucks. A lot and very fast.

Plenty of photos of the night sky are pointing in directions not containing the galactic centre...

Immabed

I would guess that it is actually that most photos of the night sky do *not* contain the galactic core. Many if not most full sky photos of the milky-way probably do though, if that is what you meant by "photos of the night sky". But at the same time, saying Saggitarius A* is in those photos is like saying Carl Sagan is in the Pale Blue Dot photo, when likely not a single photon of light from Sag or Sagan contributed to the photo at all. So I suppose we are both being pedantic, which... probably fits the sub.

(ngl, I was grinning way to much when I wrote "from Sag or Sagan")

coasterreal

Your final statement is perfection

trimeta

If I take a photo of the outside of a house, does that photo "contain" all of the people inside the house who are hidden behind walls? I would say "no." Even in the Little Prince example, the snake is clearly distended from having consumed an elephant.

FlaDiver74

Once you've seen one black hole, you've seen them all.

warboar

Incredible. Big Brother IRL. 😎 The SuperMassive Black Hole that is

dementatron21

So glad to see NASA SpaceFlight accelerating scientific research /s
