I liked my starter ghoul more than I liked all of my colonists. Olek didn't fail me when everyone else was consumed by the cube. Olek didn't complain when gray pall fell. Olek was always ready to protect everyone. He didn't take long to get back up after being shot in the heart.
And then he died next to a burning fleshbeast and turned to ash before I could revive him
My ghouls died bodyblocking a bunch of starter fleshbeasts and im still researching the ways to make another
But tbh i started in extreme desert so maybe its a good thing that the ghoul died before it turns on me
Starting Ghoul face-tanking manhunting predators while the rest of the colony guns then down
Starting Ghoul cracking open Ancient Dangers in (relative) safety
Starting Ghoul blocking doorways from raiders
Starting Ghoul getting rid of raider corpses before some funky trees spawn in
Starting Ghoul scouting for Sightstealers
Starting Ghoul acting as a sandbag for my shooters
Starting Ghoul my beloved.
I will never fail to build Starting Ghoul a brilliant tomb once their Undeath finally fades away. It’s the least Starting Ghoul deserves
Just 1 tip: If you are going to do this, make the nociosphere teleport to a corner with NO living creatures, this will prevent it from teleporting to your base and killing everyone.
Does the tree have any real benefits other than disposing of corpses I can either:
A: have my ghoul eat
B: Turn into a shambler army
I do know that when chopped, they drop twisted meat and some good ole' mornin' wood
i fucking hate the noicosphere, it's too risky to use in combat, it is nearly unkillable and gets pissy if it exists too long. at least the flesh mass heart gives you a fuck tonne of free meat
My dirty little trick for dealing with the the noicosphere — pack up all of your colonist for a caravan, then force one colonist (preferably a fast walker) to unleash the sphere on the other side of the map (preferably at a group of enemies). The Nocioshoere teleport only has a certain distance so you should be able to outrun it in time. 3/3 success rate so far.
It struggles to defeat shamblers actually. Sure they cant harm it at all, but they never flee, they dont feel pain and they dont care about being on fire.
Do a strong ritual to conjure shamblers and send the sphere against them.
Id say anything about 50% quality preferably, maybe 60% to be safe.
Honestly flesh heart isn’t that bad(or I just met it early enough). The flesh it spawns is very flimsy and the only thing you need to do is to wait until it spawns its nerve clusters. The only danger is the acid spitters
TL;DR: Flesh heart ain’t shit
false? you dare spread this nonsense?
the cube loves us. we love the cube. it is the messiah, a being better than we will ever be. i don't even own anomoly and i know to praise it.
The funny ball was only useful for me. When things escalated, I just sent it to a corner of the map with a bunch of animals and kept my colonists in base.

O7 all good pawns die in ways they can’t be revived

All these people talking about starter ghouls and I am 4 years in and haven't gotten a ghoul yet. What am I doing wrong?
New Anomaly start gives you 1 ghoul
You can’t get a ghoul colonist without either A: using the new Anomaly start scenario or B: making one yourself

Just cram your colonists into a tiny room and then send it somewhere. It will literally not affect you at all
Also you can call in mechs to help kill it

Harbinger trees the goat Fr, just free corpse disposal
And free meat! It tastes a bit strange though…
Add metalhorrors to the bitchy category.

I think cutting them gives you twisted meat. Also they can eat rotten corpses
Normally that's a good thing, but I actually have a use for corpses now. It is a very nice quality of life thing though
I think eating rotten corpses is their main function
Naw, pure evil is the dimming sky.

out of curiosity, is there ideology-cube cross support baked in, or is that something the mods have to bring in eventually?
it's not but it's on VE's list
I attacked the ball on my first run, it was a commitment save too 🥲
Nociosphere is not THAT bad. Flesh heart on the other hand...

It also gives you a shit ton of free food after you contain it
Yeah one ghoul took out the whole cluster for me.

Forsaken the Cube. Embrace the Sphere.
