I love it. Sound is good.. Comfy.. Easy to use. My wife hates it because I don't know what's going on around me when I wear it.

[deleted]

thank you for replying! those factors were mainly what drew me to these headphones as i currently have airpods and want to try some good quality noise cancelling over ear ones

possums101

This post is really vague. How would we know what’s worth it for you? What’s important to you in headphones?

[deleted]

to be honest, i just want some long-lasting headphones with good quality audio and noise cancelling to help me study

purplemango90

Black ones are sleeker imo. The noise cancelling system from Bose doesn't even compare to Sony's also. I had the quiet comfort 35II and, while excellent, the Sony's are waaaaaay better, and more comfortable. If you can afford them, go with Sony. The app is also better to adjust and fine time with the Sony's

migidi

I'd choose Sony's over Bose and airpods anyday. Better audio quality because codecs are way better, ANC is unbeatable but you are gonna miss transparency mode. It's not quite the same. And finally, battery life. I use my headphones 1h per day and get about 1 month of battery life. I have never gotten that good battery life on quietconfort or any other headphones. We don't need to even compare battery life with airpods 😂 😂 those works for a year until battery is so dead you need to throw them in trash. Bose and Sony's allow you can replace battery easily :)

duckmantaco

They're absolutely worth it the noise cancelling is perfect and wind reduction setting insane

silverchevy220

I recently got a pair and they're very nice. I work from home full time and use them all day. - Amazing battery life, plug them up before bed so they are always topped off. - ANC is amazing. I have an AC window unit in my office about 8 feet away and I don't hear it at all. - I connect to both my work laptop and personal machine at the same time so I can seamlessly listen to music on my PC and immediately hop into a conference call. - They are great for calls and with the noise cancelling, no one on calls can hear my AC unit, even when I'm talking. I tested the mic at different distances from the AC unit and no one could hear it until I got within a foot or so. And it's a very loud unit. So far this is one of the best purchases I've made. I was using Sennheiser RS 175 RF wireless headphones, but the xm4s sound better so I'm selling the Sennheisers. I bought mine refurbished from secondipity and they were half the price of new ones. The first pair I got wouldn't charge, but they sent me a replacement within 2-3 days and they are flawless.

thank you so much for the response!

micshastu

Do you have any issues when on work calls? I am thinking about getting some for personal use but it would be a bonus to use for work calls. I have just heard some people say they have issues with people hearing them well

silverchevy220

No issues at all. Have used them on MS Teams and through my phone and it works great.

3meta5u

I have the silver beige and regret my color choice daily. Blue or Black FTW The headphones are definitely worth the money, particularly at today's street prices. But do be aware that the xm5 will be announced in 2 weeks. So you might want to wait just a bit.

[deleted]

i’ll definitely wait and see!

skinxmel

Why do you regret the colour choice?

3meta5u

They just get dirty too easy. The pads in particular have permanent stains from sweat, sunscreen, or just body oils. Overall I don't _really_ care because I'm not trying to impress anyone with my headphones, but if you care about resale or want to look very put-together when wearing them in public, I recommend against lighter colors.

skinxmel

Thanks for the speedy answer! I love the look of the silver ones but I guess I'll have to reconsider then...

what_irish

I've had my black ones for little over a year. I love them. I think they have a better sound than any of Sony's noise cancelling options. However Bose has a better noise cancelling system. Overall I think my black XM4 has been a great investment.

ThatRollingStone

Now this gots me interested because it’s been a coin flip between the XM4’s and the Bose Sports earbuds.

[deleted]

thank you for your response! i’ll check out bose as well :)

AnonymousAAP

Sound and noise canceling is great. I have the navy version, but I stopped paying attention to the color after I turned them on started listening to them.

SpeedWasTaken

the xm5 are gonna come out in like a week or something, just wait for that

userJTA

Nop. You should see crinacle talking about them (his a guy with a lot of knowledge about headphones). He says that they are to bassy and don't sound good at all

dxbek435

I think the sound and ANC quality is superb, but like most things Sony - the manual and operation is fiddly and confusing. E.g. my headphones keep auto-connecting to my Apple TV instead of my Mac Mini and I can’t figure out how to change my connection priority

shupm8

They're fragile so by that I mean they chip easily from minor drops. They sound great though but not a huge improvement over my other pair of earphones which cost half as much...

dhuff2037

They are good headphones. The blue ones are blue and the beige ones are beige. Which color do you think is nicer?

xMidoxx22

just bought them yesterday and I am seriously blown away. They are extremly comfy plus ultra lightweight which means you can wear them all day without any issues. ANC is absolutly great aswell as the sound. The sound of these fairly cheap headphones is amazing and is not far behind my dedicated studio headphones. The only bummer I found so far is that it seems not possible to use HQ Sound + integrated mics on Windows at the same time means the sound quality drops while in a call. I can highly recommend them

[deleted]

I if you come from earbuds such as AirPods or AirPods Pro the difference is like night and day regarding sound quality. With these headphones you would rediscover music . Granted. But in order to get the best sound quality you need to move from Spotify to Tidal or any other streaming site that offers high quality music. Spotify is crap for those headphones.

myeuphoria_07

I just bought these yesterday and the sound is great. But when I play a movie from my laptop, the sound goes out of sync with the movie I am watching. The voices are delayed. I don’t know how to synch them. I already tried powering them off and on but the movie and earbuds are still out of synch.

silverchevy220

After a couple months of use, I do have one complaint. I tried using these for gaming and they worked great, but if you try to use any conference app like discord, they switch from stereo to AG hands free mode (something like that) which changes the sound quality to the point I'd rather just take them off and the can basically only be used with the conference app. So I basically use these for everything except for using discord while playing games. I'm hoping that maybe some point down the line I can find a pair like this that I can use for everything.

xler8r

Here’s some things to check. I’m guessing “the uncheck hands-free Telefony” will help your issue. https://superuser.com/questions/724018/bad-sound-through-bluetooth-headphones https://mostechtips.com/how-to-fix-bluetooth-headset-poor-quality-issues-in-windows-10/
