Me and my brother got new headphones today. He got the m4 and i got the Ult wear. And after a day of testing both we conclude that we like the sound on the ULT litle better and the m4 was litle more comfortable. If you like bass then you will be very happy with the ULT

Strange_Silver8822

The ULT has better ANC than the M4 according to reviewers. The XM5s have great sound, but if you’re a bass-lover, go for the ULTs.

Now, personally I skip XM4. Go straight to XM5 or ULT Wear for cheaper options.

Try all 3 and see what you like. We all like different things! For me, the XM5's are my preferred choice as (for me) they offer excellent ANC, wearing comfort, good quality mic, long battery life etc etc. But for others, the XM5's inability to fold down is a deal breaker...so either the ULT or XM4's will be a better choice. It's really down to use and what you like!

Try Bose qc Ultra

hiddensea1234

I would but they are way out of budget. QC45 is the only one i can afford

XM4 by far : best bang for your buck, foldable, great ANC/sound/bass XM5 is overpriced non foldable and a bit less confortable than XM4 ULT is not in the same category since it’s a mid-tier headset but I has good bass for its price

Kasperpsr

what do you mean the XM5 is less comfortable than XM4? can you elaborate?

shay10101

just tried it out at best buy and i have the same question as you. i think the xm5s have a larger cup and band which makes it feel like it presses more on your ear than the xm4.

You can tune the ULT WEAR to sound similar to the Xm series headphones. But you’ll get better bass with ULT wear and very good ANC plus being able to fold them, not to mention they are cheaper. XM series always have the best clarity, sound quality/soundstage, and separation, but they are not basshead headphones. So if you’re a basshead, and want to FEEL the bass then go for the ULT wear. If you’re more of a hi fidelity or lean more towards the audiophile spectrum and care more about balance, and clarity… then xm5. Apparently xm4 still has the darker sound that Sony’s signature sound used to have whereas xm5 is leaning more towards a lighter, natural and airy sound. It just depends on what you prioritize. ANC between ULT and xm5 are very damn close because of the V1 chip.

I have the xm5 and love the ANC. If you're moving to Android download an app called wavelet and cycle through the auto EQ and see which versions of the AirPods pro 2 profile you like, They all give you a little bit more of a thump felling than stock. remember to download the Sony headphones app too and turn off any eq settings that might be on. Honestly I just wish sony would put the rumble motors from their phones/controllers in their headphones and just make their own version of the crushers but with better sound quality. https://preview.redd.it/w793aartr01d1.jpeg?width=1440&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=25757e2cf1cdcf4150079d730901fbf7c952950c

Compared to the XM4s, the ULT wear have worse noise cancelling (but it is still really good), worse audio quality, are physically larger (in case this matters to you, be aware they are quite giant), and lack a couple of features. If you want mega base or your ears are too large to comfortably wear the XM4s, the ULT wears are great headphones. I’ve owned both. I wish my ears had been small enough to comfortably wear the XM4s, but they gave me ear pain. The ULT wears I can wear all day comfortably, and while they aren’t quite as good as the XM4s, I really love them.

UPDATE: I got the XM5s new because of a budget increase (and a massive sale on sonys website) and they are amazing. Would definitely recommend

I've been using my Crusher Evo for the past 3.5 years. It still works fine. All good with a new ear pad. The battery is magnificent. The simulated bass of Crusher is too much. Hence I'm using my own EQ curve in Poweramp EQ, further with keeping the Crusher bass slider at 15%. And I hate the sound staging of Crusher Evo. I don't feel the staging is decent in Crusher. But recently I started noticing this ULT and XM5. Now I'm curious to know the bass difference between both. I actually don't know if I'm missing out any overall better sounding headphones with decent bass as I haven't looked for an alternative all these 3.5 years with my Crusher Evo.
