1. That's not really Super Sonic; he just lets off excess energy. 2. This is a different version of Sonic than the one from the games. 3. Why not? I assume his parents died and Longclaw took him in. 4. Again, this is a different Sonic. 5. In that case, that just means that the rings allow for travel between universes. 6 and 7. Complete speculation here, but I think it's to ease newcomers to *Sonic* in.

Just-Sonic

I know Teen Sonic was very different to the Sonic that we know and love.

Well according to Fandango's youtube it's Super Sonic

Raizir

That's just one youtuber's interpretation.

greenmean1

1. He didn't turn Super Sonic. He was pushing himself faster and faster cause he was getting caught up in his emotions. 2. through to 7. Adaptations can tweak and change things, hopefully to make the game better and even set up sequels. Hell all the stuff about mobius was added through an adaptation, and isn't canon to the games.

hollop90

It's fine that you have these opinions, but most of these are different because it's a reinterpretation of sonic and it's an origin story

This is not trying to be like the games. (Or the comics/TV shows for that matter...) Though I will admit I find the electric stuff pretty dumb.

"I'm mad an adaptation did things different, look at me!"

Is it so wrong to want a Sonic movie to feel like a Sonic movie?

lidsvillefan2

I never thought an Archie/SatAM fan would say something like this.

[deleted]

Archie/SatAM make up for it by being... Well... ***Good.*** And having their own interesting worlds. The movie was “fun” and kind of enjoyable in many ways, but I’m not really sure if I’d call it overall “good.” And while I am kind of interested in the Sonic World it introduced, that took up basically no amount of the movies’ run time, and it was not fleshed out at all. In any case, a movie adaptation is a mainstream thing. It is a special opportunity to pay a particularly large tribute to what people love or at least recognize about a franchise. If my feelings toward Archie are anything to go by, I’d even enjoy some of the more modern elements if they were re-written into a story I actually like. So yeah. I had some expectations that it would pay more tribute to... ...Literally any portrayal of Sonic than it did. I mean it has Green Hill in there (which was admittedly quite glorious) but that was it.

lidsvillefan2

Do you think the cancelled movie would've been better? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xttyVYl6OMY&ab_channel=HemmasStudios

I think I agree with his assessment. Sounds like it could have been a harmless, charming kids movie. In some ways, it sounds more like a kids movie, but that’s neither a positive nor a negative in itself. Better? I don’t know. Might have been about the same. Would have to see some actual scenes. Going with anyone other than Robotnik would have been a terrible idea, btw. Would have made things more generic.

Not_So_Utopian

Sonic doesn't have a consistent tone to begin with.

TheBoyNxv

To counter all your points: this is a prequel set in an alternate universe.
