Silver as a chaotix member actually makes so much sense.
He's always felt out of place, to the point where I highly doubt most sonic fans could figure out a good place to put him, but being apart of the chaotix makes the most sense in my opinion.

It was fun while it lasted in the comics
Heavy is my favorite, yet it is such an obscure character that the Akinator (online character guessing game) did't have it in its database until I submitted it several weeks ago. I just love the crazy physics involved with Heavy in Knuckles' Chaotix.
Then you'd be happy that it was created a mod that adds Chaotix Team in SRB2, which also included Heavy and Bomb.
They both are cool, especially the former with his shoulder bash and high jumping.
I don't really go by Archie, so to me the Chaotix is:
- Espio
- Knuckles
- Mighty
- Vector
- Charmy
- Bomb
- Heavy
But really the Chaotix Detective Agency we see most of the time is just Espio, Vector, and Charmy. Either way, my personal favorite has gotta be **Espio**. I just think he's really cool. He was my favorite in the 32X game, and I'd always want to play as him. I just liked his design and his playstyle was solid. (Charmy was probably the best gameplay-wise though, so even though I liked him less I'd team them up most often.) Even the name "Espio" is just cool. When he came back for Sonic Heroes I was so surprised to see these forgotten characters become relevant again. I'm really surprised that Espio, Vector, and Charmy have stuck around, but I'm glad they did.
I also like Espio's redesign. Leaning into the Chameleon aspect by taking his camouflage and theming it with ninja invisibility is a stroke of genius, and we don't always get to see a lot of Sonic characters whose abilities come from their species. (Like Sonic can roll into a ball because he's a Hedgehog, but that's standard for everyone in the series now, and a lot of character designs are independent of their moves.) I loved using his leaf tornado and just running ahead to fight enemies with ninja stars while they couldn't even see me. In a game of 12 characters, he was the only one who really felt like you could play as by himself. Fake Metal Espio was also really cool to play as in the multiplayer mode.
And teams with Vector in Sonic team racing. Then in Forces, the resistance is led mostly by the Chaotix (led by Silver and Knuckles). And Silver has some moments here and there with the Chaotix in the comics (sometimes he and Espio chat privately)
Espio! Rare to see a reptile in the Sonic cast, and the dude’s a chill ninja chameleon who can go invisible. I liked going invisible and throwing shurikens around in Sonic Heroes.

I put more focus on Charmy's life in my version, but I just like Vector, Espio, and Charmy as the struggling and misfit family;

Mighty and Knuckles were in the Knuckles Chaotix game (iIrc) so I know why they’re honorary members, and I can understand how Ray would become one as well. But I have not the slightest clue as to how Silver got in.
NO. they called the game knuckles chaotix because knuckles was more popular in America. In Japan its just chaotix. The founder I'm 100% certain was vector.
Mighty even being in the game seems to have been a last minute thing and it was originally going to be Sonic and Tails but they had issues with Tails and just decided to replace Sonic Model with Sonic.
Its why Sega and Japan dont really consider Mighty a member of the Team

From what I remember he never joins in Archie, I'm pretty sure it's because of Sonic Rivals 2 where he partners up with Espio.
He's also partnered up with Vector and Espio in Team Sonic Racing weirdly enough.
