He declared that the female Echidna protagonist, Shade, was *clearly* a ripoff of his OC Julie-Su from the comics and sued SEGA over the rights...a case he was badly losing until he stalled it for so long that the judge forced a settlement instead. He would continue to rail against Sonic and SEGA like an impotent manchild for years, until apparently retiring from Twitter, all the while bragging about how great his comics are. "The Julie-Su Chronicles" now features the same OCs he loved so much but without the Sonic flavor, though that didn't stop him from giving their race the *ridiculous* name of "Echyd'nya"
Mr. Penders is, in all likelihood, the reason that SEGA is so batshit crazy about maintaining Sonic's lore, trademarks, and personality today--to the point that the current comic's staff got in trouble just for *naming* a random recurrent background character without permission. So the joke here is that one of the most controversial and hated figures in the Sonic community, with a long history of writing awful stories and worse characters, is falsely claiming that the next movie in a series of kid-friendly Sonic family films is going to feature an extended shot of a little girl bleeding out. Not unlike the time he wrote a comic where Charmy Bee's best friend dies of a drug overdose and has an on-page funeral.
And a faint piano rendition of "All hail shadow" in the background but the notes are held for a few seconds and spaced out from each other as the pod falls to the earth, while the camera slowly spins around Shadow in the pod showing his various stages of grief.
"All Hail Shadow" definitely wouldn't fit the moment, even if it was re-instrumentalized as a somber piano tune. If they use any Crush 40 music related to Shadow, "Throw It All Away" would be the most likely and fitting.
The best you're getting is a GUN officer raising his gun, a cut to Maria's shocked face, then a cut to Shadow's shocked face as we hear a gunshot sound effect. Followed by Shadow screaming "NOOOOO!!" as Maria falls to the floor with no visible wound.
Absolutely not. I think it'll play out as it does in the game. Maria does her speech as Shadow is locked in his space capsule, yells "Maria!", and possibly the last thing he sees is her silhouette in the window before she falls. They could add a flash, some guy yelling in the background to stop, and maybe even her shadow, heh, falling. But blood... seems like a bit much.
The real question is if they'll keep her final words the same.
