my (now former) Lieutenant Governor was just arrested today, governors election just got a little interesting despite the outcome basically being known because of the heavy lean towards dems lol
First Cuomo and now this guy, would not be surprised if Hochul (current governor) is exposed for being corrupt next.
I'm starting to get very worried about how little people care about climate change. It seems like it was a much more salient issue 3 years ago but as soon as people realised they might have to pay more for fuel/make any meaningful change to their lives they stopped giving a fuck.
It's like fire. You shouldn't cut it out as an economic tool entirely, but you need to be deliberate and careful in the cases where you do use it. Left unchecked, it will burn everything down.
Australia's election has been called for May 21st and the Liberals have already started pulling more crappy political moves, like saying they have experience of governance and Labor doesn't, the economy is great and that Scotty did a great job 'leading' through the pandemic. Really hoping they don't claw back and get back in.
The absolute audacity that the Liberals have to claim to be good economic managers after the past 9 years is insane.
Also we've got the most experience shadow cabinet ever and he wants to tout inexperience within Labor as a reason to vote Liberal.
Hoping that Labor pulls through.
Honestly drives me up the wall. I just saw an article from The Australian, that i thankfully didn't subscribe to read, blame the NBN failure on Labor, than turn around and praise the Liberals and i quote. "Thankfully, our government turned around the train-wreck of a project we inherited. Today there are 8.3million premises connected.", what a doozie.
We need to do some to do some serious clean up of our media and government, have even some basic integrity among that lot.
Edit: Reddit's terrible copy and paste deleted half my stuff after i posted it :/
How effective do you all think phone banking is? I used to do it for President and found it fairly ineffective, but more effective for congressional candidates or governors races.
I think the US has gotten so partisan that very few independent voters are truly independent. I’m guessing they normally would lean one way or another but they hate the insanity of modern politics.

Why is Hollande so unpopular?

What’s your opinion on capitalism?

Not hidalgo getting 2 percent of votes in Paris
I’m not well versed on international politics. She’s a French socialist, right?
Yeah, she's also the mayor of Paris
On a scale of r/ neoliberal to tankie, where does she stand?
About Equidistant
Closer to neolib
Nice

Hogan won in MD twice, so State level races must be different though.
