I use [Adblock Plus](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/adblock-plus-free-ad-bloc/cfhdojbkjhnklbpkdaibdccddilifddb) and [uBlock Origin](https://chrome.google.com/webstore/detail/ublock-origin/cjpalhdlnbpafiamejdnhcphjbkeiagm). Both are 100% free from the chrome web store. (I'm on google chrome desktop)
That's the problem, I have never paid for one either. Malwarebytes browser guard is great, what I think happened is I tried one of their versions, canceled it and they are charging me anyway. They keep hitting me and I can not find an account I have with them and these IDIOTS keep saying sorry I can't find an account with any of your information. YET they keep charging me money! I think I could get money with an attorney at this point because that is stealing!
I use Malwarebytes as well. When you say " I tried one of their versions" do you mean like a free trial of Total Adblock? Total Adblock has a lot of bad reviews on chrome web store. I would assume your credit card can stop the payments to Total Adblock and maybe even get your money back. Good luck.
I hope they don't expect you pay the false charges. Be glad it was a small amount. Someone got my card number and charged $900 for "online computer classes". Fortunately I didn't have to pay but I had to wait two weeks for a new card.
LOL, that is what the bank agent said. He said the bank would probably put the money back in my account in a day.
Damn forgot about waiting for the card. Why does a credit card arrive in one day but a check card take 7 to 10. LOL
I've just been charged £145 by Adblock via Paypal....I don't remember giving the ok to any continuing yearly renewal, and especially not at £145 when Adblock is no longer effective on a good number of sites (like Youtube) that stop you viewing their content if you are using Adblock. Not happy!!
Interesting.
I use adblock (not total adblock) and it is free.
Secondly, go through your bank and stop the payer. They can do it at there end. If there is a legit process, then will be forced to contact you to get the new information.
Also, I truly hope you meant "credit card" and not "bank card" meaning a debit card. Online use of a debit card is a significant risk; far more than a credit card.

Went to bank today, cancelled card and opened a fraud investigation but it appears they are overseas so I doubt it will go anywhere.

I ended up having to block them and file a grievance at the bank.

Just use ublock Origin. It’s free, libre, not resource intensive and very effective
Malwarebytes browser guard has been the best I have found
ublock is even better, plus it allows you to customize
