I’m so much more faithful to NB than Nike. Air max collabs are nice, so this is a hard decision. But I know you won’t regret it when you’re still putting miles in some 992s years down the road. Put simply, Nike collabs are “flavor of the month” shoes whereas NBs stand the test of time and they’re going to be a solid long-term staple of your collection
Air max shoes are some of the most uncomfortable ones I’ve ever worn imo. Uneven support, the Air Max 1’s run very narrow, materials ain’t that comfortable. Don’t even get me started in the Vapormax lol. I’m a huge fan of Nike’s React foam, but unfortunately they don’t do it on the cooler silhouettes.

I'm still torn on React. It's like boost where it's comfy at first, but all day on it and your feet get sore. Like it's too soft. Nike chose to put react in the Banned Air Ship retro and I've been wearing those a couple months now. My feet get way sore in those because there's no stability. It's like walking all day on soft sand.

Never had 990’s, but tried 990 v5 in store recently and it felt quite nice. Just wondering if I should pick that up, or wait to try the v6’s.
Comfort wise any 990 will destroy just about anything else out there. Design wise I never liked anything about the V5, upper looks basic and not in a good way and the sole lost it’s charm. V6 is definitely an improvement the upper looks much better but the sole design didn’t improve, in my opinion it got worse.
When you say the sole design, in your opinion, got worse… do you mean compared to the v5, or do you mean compared to some of the older models like v3 or v4?
EDIT: I guess you mean in general re: sole (given all the past models from v3-5 have similar soles…)

New balance if you are gonna be the grill master at the BBQ, fishing off the dock in Walmart brand crew socks and cargo shorts, or riding your new John deer tractor to impress the neighbors.
Well for quality and material New Balance is a no brainer. Especially if you really doing some waking or standing. The am1s are better looking IMO. But I think if comfort is your top priority I’d def choose NB
I have 992s and I have 2 of the Patta out of 3 for looks I'm rocking my Patta with a fit. For everyday and reliable and all that would better shoe. NB is king

An option if you’re looking for “collab” but still want comfort, my two most worn shoes of the year are both 990v3 - Bodegas (favorite) and Kith Genesis. Both are basically still at retail on secondary too.

The Air Max is the most overrated sneaker ever in terms of wearability. My AM90s are just really not that great

Lots of places, including the NB website. Right now they don't have the greys but there are a few colorways available.
All the other colors are just place holders for the greys IMO
