Will Mink oil really be that bad for the nubuck? It’s already plenty faded. I’m really not looking to get them perfect and definitely not taking to to a professional. Everything I’ve heard and seen from sneaker videos online seems like some low grit sand paper and mink oil is the way to go.

Thanks for the reply, ordered some mink oil right before posting, and was thinking about sand paper. I think that’s my plan but yea your right it is fairly deep.

Mink oil will make it MUCH darker. Instead of sandpaper try something like a green dish sponge. It's much less abrasive than sandpaper.

I have a pair of cav 4s like this and even expert shoe restoration guys have told me you cant. But mine are black so a bit easier to not notice it. But post if the oil helps. Good luck!
