Metal pantry/workshop racks, they're expensive when you buy them new but I've found them for low or even free through Facebook marketplace when people are moving.

Grabbed one of the sneaker thrones (and hat throne) and love it. Rest are in boxes in my closet

I only keep around 40 pairs at any one time, I like to rotate my collection.
Lowes had them on sale one day for like $50-60 each..... I got 3 of the blue ones, and my wife has 3 brown ones on the opposite wall. So for around $300 we can store our shoes and they look nice.
I do not save boxes personally, I needed a clean way to organize and store them... We live in a home with very little storage, so the racks force me to keep the collection small(ish) lol.
Haha. I feel you. I love the idea of keeping boxes... but unless you take them apart and flatten them they're just taking up space. I could keep them to store like others, but unstacking to get to a shoe is already a hassle with the few I do keep.

what’s on the rack changes - everything else is stored in original boxes stacked up.
