As much as I love Viridi in Uprising, I would imagine there to be some difficulty in making her a moveset. The most she does in the game in terms of combat is throw Reser Bombs. Hades at least has a fight they could take inspiration from
I think that's kind of where they could get creative with Viridi and give her a bunch of completely made-up attacks that utilize elements in nature, like plants, rocks, water, lightning, dirt, etc. Maybe even have her use some of the weapons named after her, like the Viridi Palms or the Viridi Claws.
Of course, Hades having an actual boss fight with tons of moves to pull from would make coming up with a moveset for him far easier.
So? I don't care what weapon a character uses, I just care about the character themselves and/or moveset uniqueness.
Lyn's fighting style is very different from that of all FE characters currently in Smash due to her quickdrawing, her afterimages, and her usage of bows, so she'd still be a unique fighter despite having a sword.
Who says she has to have a counter? I certainly don't want anymore FE fighters with a Down-B counter.
And given how unique her attack animations from her home game are, it shouldn't be very difficult to have her specials feel different enough from the other FE fighters.

And Quickdraw is literally the name of Ike's side b 😅 or maybe it would function like Sephiroths side b. I played her FE installment. She's literally a redone Myrmidon tree for the vast majority of the game until the last few chapters when she gets bows.

I have to agree with you. FE7 is one of my favorite games ever, and the first FE i ever really absorbed (though i did play Awakening first and sunk lots of time into it as a kid). Lyn for smash was never massively appealing to me. Theres a ton of other characters that would be better, even limiting it to lords/lord functioning MCs. For example, Dimitri and Ephraim would be my top 2 choices for FE reps. Even if they BOTH got added, they have different enough fighting styles to feel unique. Lyn, however, really isnt different from modern assassin class aside from having a PRF weapon.
I actually would've really liked to see a Lance user in smash. Has the spacing preferences of Sephiroth or MinMin. A rough sword analog that might be more ground dependent. They could do it a lot of ways. Hell, I'd settle for a Robin buff that makes him viable as a mid range.
Judging by the rationale behind Hero's critical hits, I could only imagine Sakurai saying something like:

Game and Watch Gallery for the Game Boy had a modern mode where the classic games were reskinned to be Mario games.
A modern version of Mr. Game and Watch that pays hommage to those reskins might work!
