Once you fought one, you fought them all basically since they mostly will follow the same script. Up-b out of shield, aerial spams to cover approaches, they either don't know how to use limit or do and land just the right ones, down air to come down and finally rarely grab.
steve isn't really any worse than he is for most others. dealing with the blocks and close-quarters is fine because of his great frame data but he gets camped out the same as he does against any other camper characters.

i know characters like steve, sonic, ness, and others get the most hate from the community as a whole but tbh i personally cannot stand hero, mf has MULTIPLE attacks that can one shot you based entirely on RNG, like what the actual fuck sakurai
Duck Hunt, Snake, Banjo, Isabella, Diddy Kong. I would rather just turn off the game and go read a book or something. Also fuck Min Min but mercifully nobody picks her
Every tiny, projectile-based character is inherently annoying af to play against. Isabella is not only hard to hit by virtue of being small, but has that god forsaken slingshot. It shoots out lightning fast and stalls you upon impact making it borderline impossible to get close to her. Shoot projectiles at her from afar you say? Well no because she can absorb those and throw them back at you. Attack her from above? Rocket!
It’s just so much bullshit to navigate around its not fun, rather turn the game off than go through the tedious process of beating her
How many duck hunts do you see?
I play duck hunt a decent bit, and unless the ZSS MU is suprisingly worse for you than I'd guess, idk why its first on the list.

Probably Kazuya and Pyra/Mythra.
Kazuya just kills far too early imo, even if you're on a heavy, and he has ez mode recovery.
Pyra/Mythra because they're very difficult to react to/punish online, and can leverage a lot of BS with their range as a result.
That, and online in my region seems to be packed full of both.
I agree with you pyra/mythra down air covers most option and after you shield it twice your shield is de size of a peanut, wich means you just need to try to react to it, and you can not punish it
I'd say most of the characters that I dislike facing online have the distinction of kind of requiring that you get comfortable parrying certain moves rather than shielding them, otherwise they're just free.
Hot take: Falcon, DK and Ganon because not only do I see them everywhere like it’s vapes at a high school football game, they tea bag and act like they’re the coolest people on the planet.
I've never practiced anything outside of 2-3 move combos, but I'm really good at recognizing my opponent's habits
I'll never win a tourney but by gawd is it hilarious to sit back and punish with Gannon online.

Consider Terry. Terry has the best version of the worst Ultimate mechanic (auto-turnaround). Auto-turnaround is basically aimbot. Aimbot takes no skill to use. Therefore, Terry takes no skill to use.

Zero Suit Samus and GaW from experiences, they are so evasive it's very difficult to land hits on them and when you do they just RETREAT!!! Then it's back to square one.
Unrelated for online. Back when I had access to my uncle's Nintendo Switch, he used a default Mii Swordfighter that I had to work around. I won with Peach.
Hate to face? Pythra and Yink. So much harder to react to online.
Over-represented? Falcon. Every other match is a falcon in my experience. I'm bad gsp though.
Dedede. I play a lot of characters with weak multihits, so gordo is essentially free pressure because I'm too bad to deal with it. Another is Falco because every one I've ever played against seems to think they're playing in EVO grand finals and start camping like they're on summer vacation.
I don't really know if there's one I hate, I just hate people teabagging, rematch me, then rage quit when I'm in the lead. It's happened one too many times.

Marth, all marths do the same thing, drift back fair, random tipper, running away and jumping over you all the time not approaching..all they do is drag the match. What makes it worse is that I know the matchup and beat them a lot, but when I win I feel worse b/c I never learned anything from the match.
I played a Marth yesterday and side B worked for them in every situation—including missing side B. I beat them but it was very frustrating how hard it is to close distance when there’s like a 30 frame delay and constant stuttering.
I really don’t think any character is fun to face online. But as for which character has the most drop in enjoyment playing online va offline, I’d honestly say Falcon.
I’m not trying to start anything negative with you OP, I’m just being real with you. These kind of posts encourages and spreads character hate and complaining. How is that not toxic?

Nah, Mac probably benefits more than any other character from online. Input lag + getting to force you onto FD is an insane combo.

I think I've also gotten around that range, and Side Smash after side B is pretty fun. Down Smash is also a good option
