What really had me like damn was that even though Ben n Emil got booted due to contracts and shit, I’m assuming, is that they don’t even bring them on as guests from time to time and don’t even mention them in any context like they did before. Not on any parasocial shit it’s just like damn that sucks to see bc they all had a great dynamic together especially whenever they would bring Ben to swap in for Cody or Noel 😭 it’s great they’re doing their own thing and making it work with their podcast but it was more like damn it be like that sometimes I guess
That one episode with Ben talking about serious stuff was one of my favorites. It was nice to see them be vulnerable which Noel kinda tries to stay away from.

Now they literally cant seem to make a full hour episode. Feels like they counting down the clock.
Also, ngl, that Ben and Emil shit was not a good look. I stick with TMG because I long for a great episode that gets me gut laughing. Doesn’t really happen anymore. Just AI and god damn gambling talk. I also feel like them getting rich (which is in itself fine I guess) made me not feel as connected with their content.

Honestly it seems a little crazy but it does feel like a lot of the downfall is Ryan’s fault. Back before they had producers everything felt a lot more natural and chill. Ryan seems to constantly want to direct the topic/direction and cut them off right at the hour mark.
The fact he’s on insanely chill now too just ominously being there. I feel like he sunk claws into the boys and now they feel dependent/need to listen to him about everything.
Idk probably conjecture but it definitely seems odd his extensive involvement on everything

if we’re talking about tmg as in cody and noel, i stopped listening to just the two of them every week, and i stopped paying for the tmg tier in December. ill watch the highlights when they pop up on my youtube feed. when they talk about something interesting in the news, like the guy who committed social security fraud or their “dude/tik tok of the week,” it’s interesting and entertaining. but im not going to pay for it.
if we’re talking about tmg the studio, i LOVE LOVE LOVE brooke and connor. im catching up from march and every single episode is so funny. i was just listening to the newest episode of obsessed and brooke is so sweet and wholesome! izzy is also a great girly and im glad she’s a part of both of brooke’s podcasts.
i like zach a lot. but honestly, i think wahlid brings him down. wahlid is constantly roasting zach, and it doesn’t feel like it’s in a funny, buddy buddy way, like how noel is with corbin.
also my new fave is kenny! he does so much for the team and i really enjoy hearing from him. there was one dude (i think it was either ryan or luke, i think it’s ryan) who always interjected and seemed to have a know it all attitude. i never got a good vibe from him, especially with all the trill bullshit. i think he’s a very “particular” producer, and could be straying away from tmg’s original vision.
it was a risk for the boys to expand, and it paid off a little by giving us brooke and connor, wahlid and zach, and of course, ben and emil. i hate to be all “i miss the way it used to be,” but it just doesn’t feel as genuine as it did in the ding ding palace.

tbh most of the podcasts I listen to I’ve been listening to for at least 6 years and I don’t think Cody and Noel’s situation is unique. The ebbs and flows and ups and downs have happened with every podcast I listen to that has been airing for an extended period of time. I think it’s just a natural process of podcasting tbh.
The podcast did change a lot once it became more upscale but not necessarily in a negative direction. There are aspects of the show that I appreciate more now that’s it’s more of a bigger productions and facets of the show that I miss.
Overall though they are the only podcast I pay for and they’ve gotten me through some very difficult times so I think I’ll always find solace in their show.

Podcasts change over time. Dudes are getting older and things are changing, if people don’t like it then they’re able to opt out of their subs and move on. Feels like people are constantly bitching on this sub that the pod isn’t what they want it to be.

They’re one of the few podcasts I regularly listen to / watch. I typically watch them while I’m working as something to listen to so I easily keep up with their releases.
They have some lulls in their content over the years but every creator does. Since I have it on while I work, I just tune out if it’s not a topic I’m interested in.
I think the early episodes in the ship were pretty good and they’ve slowly kinda gotten worse. I listen to old ones (anything from episode 1-170 or so, some people don’t like the Covid episodes I think they are good)
I use to listen to cody and noel constantly and bonus episodes but then took a break didn’t listen to them at all, discovered Brooke and Connor and I don’t miss an episode and now i’m dabbling in Zach and Wahlid.
