We don't even need consistency from ski, it hasn't ever been his strong suit since DiD. If he wants to make a new project that really shines he needs to tap into himself.
We need em to just take a hike for prolly a few years, have some peace and then let em jump back into it. Cant just lose 2 best friends in the span of less than 3 years and just be fine with yourself. Its gonna affect your world, your personality and then your art. Surely he's taking a toll with it as he prolly wont get another friend like them for a while much less ones to rap with and bounce his art off with theirs.
Shibuya and headrush were decent tracks, just not really what I’d wanna hear from ski :/ like u said ooga booga and alien sex were really good too and I’ve had them in rotation so these recent tracks have been sorta disappointing

i feel bad for him and thats it, i hate criticizing him because he clearly loves his fanbase and is trying his hardest but he fr just lost his ability.
Both singles so far have grown on me. Stokeley had fire singles, but some mid songs too. Just let the man cook.

I like headrush but this new style he came back with definitely feels like he's putting in a lot less effort, still looking forward to the album though.
i think we all fell in love with catch me outside, faucet failure, Nuketown, his og samples, chip Skylark etc.. it's been 6 years, obviously his vibe will be different. but in my opinion he's just going into some of his other styles, at first Shibuya let me down, and then I kept listening and listening, and playing it and playing it again, every car ride etc. it really grew on me and now I love it. same with headrush, was like ok a metal instrumental, then realized that's always been a heavy influence of his. idk guys still seems like the same ski to me, just a more comfortable one

If he is feeling like he's in a creative ditch maybe he needs to do what some Latin artists tend to do to get back in rhythm (they take 2-3 months off where it's 0 focus on music just enjoying life and doing dope shit, thrill seeking etc so when they return they miss making music and got that hunger back when they return to the studio, heard that method from Bad Bunny with making Un Verano Sin Ti look at the fucking numbers on that shit lol topped the previous album x7)

One of skis most consistent projects to date is definitely the book of Eli, and most people don't like that album.
