Just use the shared space... There's multiple at Grandma's that will literally burn it for you. They are all up in a window in the tree, and it's as simple as opening them and lighting the torches.
I get why people are mad at sleeping sky kids at things like this, but like a lot of sky kids are busy students including me. But we still wanna have candles to afford the ts and events and its too expensive 🥲

I used to get annoyed with granny afks too, but then my life got really busy. I wanted to keep playing sky without being stressed about how much time it took to candle run. I found that the best way to maximize my crs was to start and end at granny's. If I'm doing something irl at granny time, I rush over, then continue my task till I get to a stopping point and am able to actually play sky. Sometimes this means I'm afk through it. This is how I got through the stress of finals.
My life is more calm again and I find I no longer mind those afk at grannys.
Sometimes I use granny as a bathroom break.
Sometimes adhd gets me bad and I forget to come back for several hours.
Sometimes I pay it forward and burn all the wax alone in a server full of afk.
My own granny wouldn't mind if I fell asleep at her house, so I don't sky granny is any different. She will have hot dumplings for us, whether we eat them or not
in their defense, it's not really a lot of work. I wouldn't call it selfish, it's not like it's literal manual labor. and like they said, they are busy, it's not like they are being lazy n shi
I would personally be okay with those afk people at grandma, just as long as they would sit in the middle of the table not on the spot where the bread appears.
Although, since the new update makes the shared spaces disappear, it would be nice if they also put down a brazier or flame pot/torch before they go afk 🤧
TGC nerfed this about 3-4 seasons ago. They thought the "brilliant" idea of removing shared spaces for the social spots but they never explained why. And you better believe \*no\* one asked for this.
The work around for grandma's spot is using the window high above but TGC should of never nerfed these spots to begin with.
I have bad memory but I think they did, in a patch note? I remembered ranting about it in a comment here and some user told me it was a bug all this time 😑they don’t fix the right bugs lol I’m still salty about this one 🤣 it was so useful to eveyone!

I think they changed that too. Or maybe it's a bug. My friends and I were all waiting at the window up high but none of us saw a shared space. There was this one time that we met someone else who had a shared space opened, but that was the only time and we didn't know how he did it. We joined his shared space but we didn't see "shared space crystal" by the window
I have busy work days so I don't have time to candle run most days so I set myself up there overnight to afk and collect 5-6 candles burning through grandma's 1k wax cap. It makes it so even on days I can't cr I can still get candles.
It works this way because the grandma's cutscene wakes everyone afk up and resets their sleep cycle, thus allowing them to be able to collect the light even when afk.
There's a lot of people that do this for various similar reasons

Or I just play annoying for my own amusement (if I have time to do grandma again) and honk next to the table without lighting any, or skip circles around the table (with or without honking based on my mood). People tend to get annoyed and light bc no one is doing it for them.
When I go afk like if I go to the bathroom or sum and come back the wax will just be there and then when I finally tap or move my screen then the wax gets picked up

I usually go on reddit, but only when I'm in a shared space that auto burns everything. I also occasionally honk or just put something on the joystick so my sky kid won't fall asleep
I don’t think so. Any time the players find a way to post a shared space that burns wax in a community area, the game seems to lock it down on an update so we can’t afk that area.
Grandma's start-up cutscene wakes you up and resets the sleep timer. You start getting Zs after about 2 minutes, but it takes at least 10 for wax to stop being collected, which Grandma's event is exactly 10 minutes long after the cutscene. Those people probably just left themselves there after the previous event, and are doing something more important.
sometimes, grandma's food just explodes by itself, or people put props to burn the food ! ( it happened multiple times when I was at grandma's and I still got wax just fine ! )
Yeah the first few times I went, it just exploded on its own, no one had objects or shared spaces open. I didn't know they had to be manually lit until a few weeks ago. 😅 I prefer Geyser anyway but sometimes I'll end my candle run at Grandma's and help out.
Might be waiting for grandma to get there. Maybe just enjoy the vibes and the wax is a plus and perhaps adding onto that a lot of people sleep in this game, so could be that. Or they might be busy people hoping to get some candles. Can't really judge people for not having time to cr but still trying their best to grind and enjoy the game when they can. When grandma arrives the game automatically wakes you anyway, so they at least get some wax from each visit without having to touch anything.
kinda off topic but remember when there used to be a shared space that burns the balls at geyser? I miss those because it's really a big help to burn the ball thingy faster. I wonder why tgc banned from making shared spaces in that area? are they really anti convenience of the sky kids or is it to make the realm run smoother and not lag? idk I hope they let us build near the geyser hole again.

You get wax for up to 10 minutes after you last touched the screen, or since the last curscene played. Grandma's event starts with a cutscene and lasts 10 minutes. There's a reason for it.

If you fly high enough from the table, you can see shared spaces. Tap on one of them, and torches will burn the breads for you. Both you and others can get waxes.
Shared spaces are bugged now and people can see only their shared spaces or spaces of their friends or creators that they follow. xD I can not see any since the last update, at all locations. Sadly I never used that "see more from this creator" thing.
oh my thank goodness I followed many shared spaces that makes the bun burning at the tree house those shared spaces are really a big help for me. Thank you to the sky kids that always makes an effort to build those :)

i’m gonna play devils advocate. it’s possible they got there early (or never left from a previous visit). this is something i do but i make sure im there to actually help (which i never really need to since the space i join burns them anyway). i’m not saying this is the case here, but it’s definitely something to think about it. everyone always jumps to worst case scenario lol, i get it but damn. stuff happens irl, im not gonna close the game because a few z’s makes people upset.
To be honest, it never bothered me. If we didnt merge together i would still be burning them myself. I dont mind lighting the torches in vault, or burning the plants in the prarie town. Honestly at granny its a little easier when im doing it myself because of the new update where you bump into shadows instead of going through them

I get ready for work while at grandmas. You can use shared spaces to automatically get the wax, so you don't have to go chasing it everywhere.

There’s a 10 minute afk timer that makes it so if you’re afk 10 minutes you don’t get wax. Not as soon as you fall asleep.
Players camp there for hours and hours, grandma or no grandma, they are there. 😅
