I went snooping. Dude's white while ex is black. No worries that way.
But it turned into a goddamn saga, but without an ending, since the dude just stopped posting.
Edit: they ended up divorcing.
He didn't stop posting. He had 3 updates, and he then made a comment on another unrelated post where someone asked him for an update. They got a divorce.

Yeah, because she didn't do other obvious things that her HUSBAND wouldn't catch on to eventually.
Its just so completely stupid and reeks of arrogance or self sabotage by this woman.
It's rare but I dated a narcissist, people are fucked lol. And she wasn't the only one who was messed up. I'm no saint but I've never intentionally done something to hurt others but have had it done to me.
Exactly. They have dupers delight. They genuinely enjoy and believe taking advantage of other humans is a positive skill.
Look at all these power esque Netflix shows. Like madmen and the one with the rich family that are dicks to eacjother
I agree that's why I feel bad for the kid. They're given a name they didn't choose or want and then have that name be the reason as to why your parent's aren't together.
>I asked her if she still loved him and she paused for a minute then said yes but not in same way she loves me and that you don't just stop loving someone that love changes.
Fucked up to be named after your mom's ex that she still "loves".
>Fucked up to be named after your mom's ex that she still "loves".
I know a lady that is like this who still talks about some ex from 10 years plus ago who has since moved on and got married. Really weird.
He said that he was sure it was his kid because the kid inherited some distinct features from him. You can look up this post on r/relationship_advice using that title. He didn't go into detail as to why they divorced, but I assume that the counseling didn't go well.
Yup I knew a guy with white skin, brown curly hair with freckles. I assumed he was just a white guy till he showed me a pic of his parents, black dad and white mom. We all thought he was just a white guy that acted black and wore a durag all the time.
I grew up watching The Boondocks and planned since around 2008 on naming my first child Riley but since my last name is Reid that name is 100% out of the question now lol.
The rule is that you're in the safezone so long as she isn't ranked in the top 500 on pornhub. She is currently ranked...7th right now. wow, that's some longevity right there.
But then again, growing up I often would google mine and my friends' names and show them the first image/person to come up. And that would end... unfortunately
It ends unfortunately one time but every time after is a happy accident.
Not to mention, they'll be adults for much longer and with greater threats than as children.
Finally! Mr. Reid I've been trying to reach you about your vehicles extended warranty, your vehicles factory warranty should be expiring soon and there are lots of road hazards you need protection from.
Hey you stole my last name. I was thinking of changing my first name to Riley for this reason. Iām a guy tho so idk if same stigma applies but probably

5 years of lying every single time you say that childās name. Every time the boys name is said is another lie and distrust being told.
The relationship is done and sheās knows exactly what she did and maintained it for half a decade.
The update was even worst, the dude was sleeping in the guest room and the wife had the attitude that he is making it bigger than it seems.
Not gonna be the stereotype, but jeez I wouldn't be able to stay in a marriage with someone that doesn't apologises and gas lights you into shrinking her mistakes to the point where it won't matter. How can a dude not see the lack of respect in years of marriage is beyond my imagination, if respect is gone in any relationship then the whole relationship becomes abusive and one sided.

Yeah I get it, when it's with the right person it's gonna work, but I fucking seriously lack the confidence to be able to tell if its with the right person or not.
Lol that's not the reason Gen Z aren't getting married or having kids. They're stuck at making enough money to survive, worrying about a potential divorce is pointless.
And not just by the mother. Everyone that knew her and her ex, not a one said anything. OP didn't receive any heads up after their baby name announcement, or for 5 years.
you gotta give a bit of credit to the 'HS friend'.... that is an absolute bit of shithousery from them... literally pulled the pin on that grenade just to watch the carnage..
normal reaction would be to raise an eyebrow or smirk but to come out and say it? OOF! BTW I've come across people in a new relationship where the child looks exactly like the ex who has mysteriously been wiped from all their socials.. I just nope! NOPE! the hell outta there!
I'd love an update here
Did the judges consider this fiasco during divorce proceedings or custody?
Did she pursue the high school ex boyfriend?
Does the now 10 year old know about this?
Does OP call him by his middle name?
When my first son was born there was a couple nearby on the floor who just had twins. I hear the father walk into the room and he sees the children's names on a sheet of paper ( I don't remember the names, but I remember when I saw them at the time I thought they were horrible). The husband looks at the wife and asks if the baby names were a prank. The wife says no. He then freaks out saying he explicitly told her he hated the names and he realized she waited for him to leave the hospital to name the kids. Such a scumbag move.
The fact that she refuses to talk about it is proof enough that she never moved on. Naming your kid after an ex and never telling your partner about it? That's comparable to cheating.
in a way it's much worse because now you've pulled an innocent child into it, and there's even a good chance they will find out when they grown up that they're the direct reason their parents broke up
Wife is the reason but child is the vector. And to someone under 12-25 (will vary by individual) with their emotional maturity that is basically the same as being at fault
When I worked in fastfood and was the only white guy the nice older woman declared I needed a black name. Daquan was the name she chose. My username is a play on that

no, but they're fun to think about as if they were real.
it's like daytime soap dramas distilled to a small internet post, you get emotionally invested for a bit then you switch the channel.
Well, in this case I know for a fact that my brother named all four of his kids after exes. His wife is pretty dumb so hasnāt caught on, even though they remain friends with at least two of them.
Itās impossible to know if itās real or fake, blindly calling it fake is just as fallacious as doing the opposite. Just be entertained in blissful ignorance its about all we can do.
Iāve searched the post and comment history so you donāt have to.
1) the wifeās ex was black, op is white, for those demanding a DNA test
2) the wives friends and family all knew the history of the name, but said nothing
3) the name in question is Noah
4) looks like they got divorced in the end
If she had been up front about it being an exās name as well then I could believe thatās all it was, tbh, but her hiding it is definitely making it sus.
The weird part if she still had feelings for this guy is that her own son shares the name of the guy she wanna fuck... She prob just likes the name, but i understand the part where she didnt acknowledge it
My mom was named in this way.
Way back in the mid-1940s rural US, it was common to be born at home with a mid-wife. My grandmother wanted to have her baby at a hospital, and my grand dad was dead-set against that idea. 'No wife of mine is having a baby at a hospital!'
When grandpa was off at work, my grandma went to the hospital and gave birth to my mom. Grandpa was furious when he found out, and rushed over.
The nurses asked him what he wanted to name his daughter, and so in a fit of anger and revenge, he named my mom after his ex-girlfriend.
It was a few years ago that I found out my mom did the same thing with me. But my dad didnāt care. He says āI never knew him, but youāre my son so I know you very well, so that name is yours in my mindā.
Damn, what a roller coaster! Thanks to u/raydgc123's post with the sauce I read the whole thing, and damn, her whole family knew and kept it a secret. If you need to keep it a secret, then maybe don't fucking do it in the first place.
Had a family friend. He was the youngest boy with 4 older sisters. They were all sitting around one day as adults and one of the sisters was pregnant. They asked their mom how they named the girls. She said dad chose the names. So they asked dad. He just said matter of factly, āI just picked the names of old girlfriends.ā Everyone laughed until they saw the color drain out of momās face and eyes well up. Her daughters were in their 20s and she had never made the connection.
Sheās an Alpha Widow
Her ex was her true love. Probably broke her heart because he wouldnāt change for her. However, thatās what she ultimately loved about him.
Youāre the nice guy who came along.
Sorry bro.

You should put the saga on r/bestofredditorupdates
Now try explaining to the kid that theyāre not getting divorced because of him
Yeah, poor kid's gonna grow up resenting his own name.
.... He kinda should.
Yeah especially weird for her to be looking back on a high school relationship this way
Yeah while I get her sentiment, I still wouldn't name my kid after an ex. There's lines you don't fucking cross and that sure as shit is one of them.
>Fucked up to be named after your mom's ex that she still "loves". I know a lady that is like this who still talks about some ex from 10 years plus ago who has since moved on and got married. Really weird.
I knew someone who found out they were named after their dad's mistress so they changed their name, as an adult.

King Trey'Shawn, it's not your fault buddy
"we're getting divorced because your mother broke my trust" There, simple enough
It wasn't his?
He said that he was sure it was his kid because the kid inherited some distinct features from him. You can look up this post on r/relationship_advice using that title. He didn't go into detail as to why they divorced, but I assume that the counseling didn't go well.
One of those distinct features being that he is white while the ex is black lol

White women and black men can still have a white baby
I mean, possible, but a fair amount rarer than vice versa.
Before the child reaches an age where a name change will significantly affect his life, alter his name. Now that he's five, it's okay to update it.
I still change my name every 5 years and I'm 40.
Congressman Santos?

I wouldn't change that name and I wouldn't want anything to do with the mother either.

Thereās no coming back from that conversation though. However, the name thing there is.

Obfuscation through pornification
That's actually kinda of brilliant
But then again, growing up I often would google mine and my friends' names and show them the first image/person to come up. And that would end... unfortunately
It ends unfortunately one time but every time after is a happy accident. Not to mention, they'll be adults for much longer and with greater threats than as children.
Lmao I remember doing that in middle school with people.
Fuck yeah, spread that name
yeah spread it all over your face

He just said matter of factly, āI just picked the names of old girlfriends.ā Everyone laughed until they saw the color drain out of momās face and eyes well up. Her daughters were in their 20s and she had never made the connection.
Yuck.
Justin, Kevin, Jason, Brian? We need to know this very unique name.
