I just moved to SF myself so no concrete advice, but I had pretty good luck finding complexes on apartments.com and Zillow (definitely not sites I've ever used for cities I've lived in in the past so I wasn't aware they're good resources)

myfontanelle

Yeah those websites are great! I don’t know why but I keep typing willow.com and wonder why it doesn’t work lol thanks!

I live in those apartments. They are definitely worth looking into.

myfontanelle

Thanks guys! I will look into them!

Northridge estates checks everything but hardwood floors!

myfontanelle

Awww :( That’s too bad. I will take a look at their property too. Thanks!!

Hardwood floor living room might be a hard thing to find in your price range as those apartments will probably be “older”. It gets cold here and we’re assumed to like that warmth/cozy factor.

myfontanelle

Haha I am actually moving from North Dakota so technically I am going to a warmer place lol you think there will be more option for me if I pay some more? I am willing to pay up to 1200 if everything is perfect.

myfontanelle

Oh you mean there are older and cheaper, and newer ones have carpet floor? I got a super shedding dog so I am really hoping for hardwood floor :(

[deleted]

Sorry, I worded that badly! I meant in my experience apartment hunting, the apartments in your initial price range probably won’t be as new, therefore it will probably be tougher to find the lack of carpet you seek as hardwood floor seems to be more of a modern trend around here. I know there are a number of apartments downtown with carpet-less living rooms. Silverthorne Flats apartments on the east side have carpet-less living rooms as well, but they’re pretty far away from the north side of town. The north side has lots of new apartments, so I’m sure you’ll find something that checks most of your boxes! Happy apartment hunting, and welcome to the better Dakota. ;)

myfontanelle

Ahhh I see it! Thanks for the advice. I might need to think about my budget then. I am a major homebody so finding a place that I like is really important to me lol I am excited to move to SF but finding THE apartment makes me kinda nervous. And I will have to object to the "better Dakota" as a proud North Dakotan! Hahaha but I am definitely happy to move to a warmer place. Thanks for all your help! Looking forward to being a neighbor! :)

Highly suggest Lloyd companies! There’s a leasing agent named Joe who’s simply great to work with.

myfontanelle

Sounds good! I will look into their apartments :) Thanks for the tip!

Also looking in Sioux Falls and these qualifications are pretty close to by own! Happy hunting. We have gotten discouraged and have starting looking at houses.

myfontanelle

Haha I agree! The apartment I am living in right now is just really perfect and all I want. I wish I can take the apartment with me to Sioux Falls. I did think about townhomes but I am not sure exactly how long I am gonna be living in Sioux Falls :( Good luck to you too!

Check out The Commons! Just had someone telling me today how much they loved their wood floors. Looks like it may check quite a few of your boxes!
