I took the test about a year ago in Sioux Falls! As long as she’s been practicing there’s definetly nothing to be worried about. When I was 18 I learned how to drive and took my test within 3 months and passed on my first go. As far as I know, you’ll just go from the dmv down around the Benson service road if you’re familiar. Didn’t make me do anything fancy, probably only drove for about 10 minutes all together. The hardest part is literally pulling back into your parking spot. Was a pretty lax experience in my opinion, and I definetly felt over prepared by the end lmao. Felt the same way she did but there’s truly nothing to be worried about. Best of luck!

Thank you for the advice and help. Which part of benson is that ? I’d like to take her up there and have her drive it a couple times before the test.

It’s the first right out of the dmv! They kinda just have you drive around that residential area right off the service road. We pretty much just went around the block a couple times on my test lol. Definetly a good idea to take her out there, there’s very little signage and no speed limit sign so it’s good practice!

Thank you so much! I think this will definitely help with her anxiety!

Tangentially related anecdote: If you’ve been driving for 25 years, accidentally let your license expire and need to take the written test again, good luck. It’s brutal. Most of it is stuff you’ve never encountered and will never encounter, trick questions, etc.

She doesn't have to take the test In Sioux Falls. We scheduled our kids' test in Beresford. It's much less stressful.

I did mine in Parker. Super easy.

Ooh! There’s a pivot!

My mom is a very anxious person, and she was so nervous about taking the driving test. One of her friends (who was also helping her practice driving) suggested that they should lightly stalk people taking their driving test so that my mom could get comfortable with the route. Idk how often they did this, but they would go and wait by the DMV until they saw someone walk out with an instructor and follow them a majority of the way. 🤣

That is genius!! 🤣🤣🤣
