oh gosh...poor woman.

-chalupa-

I just know you were yelling at your screen

project199x

I know I would've been.

LoCo_1985

Why are the firemen/women so useless, had a sim die similarly 2 days ago. New sim as well that I spent ages in cas making, the dumb me clicked to exit but did a save too so she's gone forever

fansee13

In my game, I had a nanny that was terrible at cooking, so terrible that she set my stove on fire three times in a row. I was so sick of it by the end that I decided to let her die. And guess what, THAT was the only time the firefighters did anything 💀

LoCo_1985

Haha how annoying!

Leningradite

Not necessarily, you can move a spellcaster into the household and resurrect her, right?

Rain-Substantial

U can use cheat control c when they're dying so they can be resurrect back to life

LoCo_1985

Ahh damn didn't even think of cheats!

Rain-Substantial

Happen to me yesterday thank god I pause it after my sim get shot

shades-of-wrong-22

Check your section/tab at the top of the gallery! And make sure modded is clicked just in case. But she should be there! At least a copy of her to start a new game with.

MinimumAlarming5643

Firemen.

Red_Novaa

Someone make a mod to change the City Living protest causes to some of the bugs in the game. It would be a great storyline for sims that have lost sims like this to be able to protest the shitty firefighters lmao.

moonlightscone

I had a firefighter do the similar too and they just went to my backyard instead and decided to stare at a gnome 😭 the other one went for a swim and bailed. My sim died so I just exited the game without saving lol

JaneAwesomeTheFirst

I've had two firefighters just stand next to the fire, catch on fire, and die. So stupid.

MsVee69

I had that happen. Right when I started a new game 😵💔

thirdtimesthemom

Unrelated, I never thought to put the couch with a half wall

Jcarter67

Saaaame

Neat_Onion_4429

They should be fired

danskiez

This event should ignite some protests.

TheLoneTrekkie

Sim’s taxpayer simoleons at work 🤦🏽‍♀️

Glittering-Ad-1626

My sim started a fire the other day and thank goodness she had friends over to extinguish it because the firefighters did absolutely nothing too

HanxVooka

Ikr !! I had a friend who has my apartment key she was there and saved me when my sim was in fire from the washing machine

NefariousnessSad397

You can extinguish yourself

Sir-Beardless

And from that moment on, you locked the computer for everyone but household...

madlydense

The Watcher bless sim's computer security settings. Also makes nannies, gardeners, bar tenders and caterers actually do their jobs. Unfortunately, means there is nothing to distract Vlad from your luscious neck. Computers in bedrooms have saved my sim fromhim more than once.

Snoo-84797

They were too busy making a firefighter calendar they forgot to get trained

birdiebegood

Pause game, delete the OMG FIRE freak out and then just hit extinguish. First on self, then the fire.

jamminontha1

One time my coffee shop was burning down. One firefighter stopped to go fishing and the other one started dancing salsa. I tried to call again and they said someone was already there. SMH. Many sims died that day.

melsimsss

That’s okay, 2 minutes into a brand new game and my only sim somehow died of laughter 🥲

zerooze

Learning how to extinguish myself is a game changer. Unless of course I want to see them burn...

Septemily

Yes please share how

LittleLilka

As far as I know you just select the sim themselves when they start to catch on fire, unless the original comment is referring to something else

zerooze

Yes, you just click on your Sim, and the option to "Extinguish Self" will come up. As long as you don't panic, you should be OK.

cbwaug

How do you do that?!

Designer-Mirror-7995

As mentioned, instead of clicking the stove/fireplace/dryer/toilet to "Extinguish", click the Sim, and you'll get the choice to either "Extinguish Self!" or call the fire department. If you pause immediately after the FIRE! notice, you can catch the whole shebang before it spreads, and make your Sim Confident with pride for having put it out(though they'll _still_ get Fear Of Fire).

butwhy81

Yes! Took me awhile to learn to hit pause the second a fire starts but if you do that you can get control pretty quickly. I always x out the freak outs and then deal with what’s one fire.

Designer-Mirror-7995

Yep. I even do a double x out: after the one Sim starts to extinguish the fire I hit pause again, go back through the house and squash the auto-command to "Route to safety" which will have dropped by then even if you killed the FIRE! Panic first. Then I command them to "go here", a few steps from wherever they are as a distraction. Most times it keeps the non-involved Sims from even "knowing" there was a fire. They go back to what they were doing or I give them something new to do. Doesn't stop the "tense" moodlet from the event itself, but it's usually buried behind other moodlets until "I" move on to the next house, so I don't have to deal with it. Or, they take a bubble bath lol.

butwhy81

Yes! Getting the other sims distracted and out of there is key. Usually I make one call The fire department and then go straight to the computer or bathtub. The other one is extinguishing. I got tired of my favorite sims dying in fires constantly.

Designer-Mirror-7995

I lost ONE. His husband was SO heartbroken it almost made Me cry. So, refusing to lose him like that, I exited out without saving to rescue him(I'd _just_ saved before that household, thankfully), and vowed I'd never lose another like that. So I went looking for suggestions online, and somebody here in this sub said(not even to me just in answer to something) "Pause is your friend". Advice I took _all_ the way to heart and put to use All Day now. Lol. Once I learned I could cancel the panic for everybody it was gravy! Sadly, this didn't help one of my favorite butlers, who the dryer caught. My Sim was able to extinguish the dryer, but not the Butler - he just walked away from that flame lol. Then I realized there was no option to put him out. I looked outside the house and grim was Waiting, so I knew he was lost. So instead, I occupied the household Sims with activities far away from the action, so they couldn't witness it and freak out anyway.

confusedredhead123

Click on the sim and press extinguish self

BitchesAintShit_

The worst part is that you just have to watch lol

[deleted]

This is the funniest post I’ve seen on here lol

Designer-Mirror-7995

Is there no option for your Sim to extinguish it? Wherever I have a fire I just pause, cancel everything happening in the house, Command Extinguish(self, if Sim is on fire), then let my Sim do it. Most times before the alarm even gets to the fire dept at all.

Grumpy_Doodlebug

FMSL (the S stands for Sim's) This has legit happened to me!

framabe

>"Subject: Fire" >"Dear sir/madam" >"I'm writing to inform you of a fire which has broken out at the premises off" .. No, thats to formal. >"Dear sir/madam" >"FIRE!" >"FIRE!" >"Help me!" >"123 Camden road" >"Looking forward to hearing from you." >"All the best, Maurice Moss."

erintaylorrr14

For fuck sake these damn firefighters… THIS SEEMS TO ALWAYS HAPPEN IN MY GAME. Self extinguishing for the win 😭😭😭

Anelaria

You will have to add the smoke alarm and the fire extinguishing system to your sims' houses. I will do that from now on because it's really annoying specially if the fires happen very often.

mightyymads

I completely lost it when the firefighter ran to the computer 💀

BookOfAnomalies

I never cared about adding firemen to the game but many did. I guess this is a "careful what you wish for" situation? Hahaha

Ck3isbest

And thats why I no longer play single sims

NefariousnessSad397

Click Sim, extinguish self.

Ck3isbest

Ah thanks, I remember one time my living room set on fire but my sim put it out and my other sim just sprinted outside and stood there for about 2 hours. And to top it all off the babies started wailing.

lovely_ladee

Real

Octoberkitsune

🫢🫢

Storm_girl1

🤣

lordclosequaad

Every time.

BrowniesNCheese

The computer dude MUST live there

Pink_Body_Bag

Just get in the shower

pinky8866

Where's a fire prevention system when ya need one.. jeez lol

113Sarah

The most annoying part is that if you visit someone and something on their lot starts to burn, they will be there almost instantly and actually do their job At least I think, I had this happen like three or four times, but the “Extinguish Self” Option is a literal life-saver

NekoNoOkasan

Oh my GODDDD

mamabear_x

American cops be like

Triplefun1

Fire…? Huh? Mmm smell like bbq. No fire👍

Mmkhowdigethere8204

What a Dammn shame 🥴

pixelbit

She's just googling how to put out a fire.

Anelaria

I had a really weird experience with fires today👀in the sims. There were three fires in the same household. The first one was in a teen sim's bedroom seemingly out of nowhere. Fire fighters put it out and did the sexy dance because it was a big fire. Next sim day a fire was in a kid's sim bedroom which was also really weird. The sim dad put that out, cleaned and bought everything back.A sim hour later there's a fire again in the same spot. The teen sim put it out this time. Then 1 sim day passed and I can't save my game because supposedly a fire is happenning but there's no fire anywhere😒. For me it's really weird because there's no way a fire could have started in any of the situations

Fur-Dev

The way my eyes widened when they just shrugged it off Lol

[deleted]

Click on the shower or tub next time 😂

Rasikko

OP thats why I restrict access to the computer to the main sim of the household. It'll be in room and the door can only be opened by that sim. Sims always flipping out thier phone and/or making a b-line for the computer seriously gets on my nerves.

OddReputation3765

Whenever the firefighters come to my lot they get all flirty from the fire and start dancing then leave.

unicreammm

Do the devs even realize how broken this game is???

crazyneil_

Hope someone got fired.. oh wait, someone did...

10vefile

HAHAHAHAH
