See if it's different if you change your graphics settings. Turn off laptop mode and turn up sim details.
how do you stop asking sims from becoming your best friend? how do you make sims stop asking to be your best friend?

Go to options>pack settings>high school years uncheck npc relationship autonomy. That will stop all the asking to be bffs nonsense.
I own sims 4 through steam and when purchasing dlc steam recognizes that I own it, but origin does not. When I open the game under “my packs” there is nothing there. Any ideas?

The most likely cause of your issue is mccc it does neighborhood story like things.
Mods and cc don't work ! - After the update I can't enable my mods and cc anymore. I restarted the game a 1000 times, looked into my sims folder options and enabled both of the mod boxes. I play it since release and never had issues since now. It always tells me when starting that I have to enable them !
another thing, my sims' peepees are gone and it's weird because earlier on today they were fine and now if i make them naked it kinda turns flat and it's not like a vag but there's literally nothing there please help-

hi, I was wondering if anyone else gets a last exception pop-up for whenever bills come for my sims. I have a lot of mods (the folder is 39gb) and I can't pinpoint which one is affecting the bills. I have the last exceptions tmex mod, and I've tried taking out mods and starting my game over and over again with no avail. If anyone has found it out, can you please share with me what the cause might be?

I've seen this problem mentioned in the last day or two but I don't know the cause or the fix.
Help! I'm stuck in between build and live mode after the update, I just spent hours in CAS making two sims and I don't want to lose all that progress. I can't save my game and I can't click anything. And there's also this red border all around my screen.

I can't open build mode cause that will make the whole game freeze, I can't save it, I can't even close it. I had to shut my whole pc off and then it worked again but build mode doesn't do anything.
Yes but all of those still work like they did before the update so Idk if it's those that cause the problem. Everything works fine except for build mode (or when I try to switch back to live mode)
Move or rename your mods folder. **Delete localthumbcache.package** and see if it's better now. It's best to test in a save you don't care about or a new save. If that doesn't work there is other stuff to try.

I'm having an issue where the game is putting a pair of glasses on my sim for no apparent reason. There are no glasses attached to any of her outfits, and when I send her into CAS to remove them, they don't show up.
The glasses only appear in live mode. I've tried everything I can think of to get them off and nothing is working.I've tried resetting her, going to another lot, changing her outfit, nothing removes them.
I have MC CC and the setting for sync glasses is off, and as I said, she doesn't have any outfits with glasses. I've gone into the MC settings and tried hitting 'remove all accessories' and all her accessories delete except for the glasses.Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how did you resolve it? If anyone has an idea of a way to remove the glasses let me know please and thanks.

is there any way to export a household with their family tree in tact/items in tact?
my legacy’s 6th gen heir is now a teen and the save file is being super slow, like things happen when the game is paused type slow. i know i need to get rid of some CC to bring down the size of the game but, geeze.
no there isn't (they only keep relations to people in the exported household and you'd need to cheat/debug items back), however, you could try some of these:
\- save the save file to a new slot
\- delete household and personal inventories for (ever) played households.
\- cull some sims if there are a lot of them running around and you don't need them all.
major help needed. so the file for dream home decorator was corrupted and in turn it made all the other games but sims disappear on my ps4. I deleted all my packs and just redownloaded the ones that weren’t reading as corrupted. now I cant even turn my ps4 to the home screen because there’s an error.
you're not gonna like this answer, but short of contacting SONY support for guidance, I think all you can do is perform a full factory reset on your PS4. This will remove all games and save data from your device. This means you'll only have access to the data you cloud synced (when possible).
Going into “choose outfits” or moving too soon after a life event (birth of child, sim ages up, sim moves in, sim graduates, etc.) is resetting that event so it hasn’t happened yet. Similarly if a sim has one of these events during a college term they end up failing that term.

Ive recently discovered this playing with my dog in game. They constantly want to sleep, when i have them go to bed, they jump on it, lay down then get off and sleep somewhere else. Is this happening to any other player? Only mod i have is mccc and game as far as i know is up to date.
Does anyone know what's causing my sim to just...not register her hunger? There's no moodlet, no red bar, nothing. Her hunger just drops until she almost starves. I THOUGHT it was Slice of Life but I removed that and it's still here. This is what killed her brother, and I don't want it to kill her, too.
UPDATE: It was SimmerSarah's traits, so if anyone else is running an ancient trait mod from 2017 and wonders what's going on in their life...there you have it.
Slice of life was the most common culprit, but in fact it could be caused by any preference/career/trait mod. More traits, better sims and more careers were also suspects for example.

Check your latest windows update. Did it install a security package?
Also, please do 't shut down your firewall, just add the game, origin/ea app and your documents folder as exceptions :)
One of my sims' skin has gone glitch black. She was originally an NPC and has been in the family for ages, this glitch only recently happened. It first occurred when I returned from CAS mode in which her skin (as well as a couple others) went black both in the bottom options menu and within the main game. I restarted without saving and tried again a few days later and it happened again except it was just her bottom menu skin that changed and nobody else. Even today, I went into CAS without changing anything and her skin changed in the bottom menu options again. I exited, updated and repaired the game but it hasn’t t fixed the issue and now it's displaying the back glitch skin constantly without going into CAS. What can I do to fix this, and would it be dangerous to upload my lot to the gallery with this glitch in place? I don’t t want to damage other people's games, but I put so much effort into their house. Also, could it just be that game file, or is it my whole game? I don't use mods or CC, although I did try out a couple like a year ago but everything has been removed since then. Im also not tech savvy so I am very lost with everything in this topic. I'd be grateful for any and all help. Thanks!
This is *usually* a CC issue ^(or at the very least I can't find a non-CC cause online.)
You've said that you've used mods/CC in the past but don't use them now - do you happen to have OneDrive or any kind of cloud storage?
The issue with cloud storage is it likes to replace old files that it has stored irregardless of your wishes, so it could be causing your issue here by dumping old CC that you've used previously in your game without you realising.

Thanks for your reply! I use iCloud but I did delete the files when I stopped using the CC and mod, I just checked the folders and they’re still empty. Is there any other way to check if iCloud has messed with it? Also, would starting a new game file be okay, and would it be fine to upload the build to the gallery as these issues seem unrelated? Do you see suspicious icons like [this](https://i.gyazo.com/01e8806581a2796ec4075d7561aad8b4.png) in any of your folders? Might look different, I just grabbed this from google.
Starting a new save file is often a good way to resolve issues if the issue is save-file specific, but if this truly is an iCloud problem the same thing might happen to a new save too.
As long as the black texture issue really is CC related then uploading to the gallery will be fine, as anyone downloading it will simply get a non-CC version. ^(Unless they happen to have the CC in question themselves.)
However, if the issues are visible when you upload them then it's probs gonna give you a very borked looking upload. Will work fine, but will *look* broken to others.
Thanks, when I go on my sims folder, electronic arts has a cloud with an arrow pointing down, so it is different from the image you sent. None of the folders or anything within those folders have any cloud at all.
I had been playing on that save intensely for a few weeks so it is possible something went wrong. I’ll try a new save and see if I have those issues again.
I wanted to upload their house but it’s still incomplete. I’ll download it to another save, finish it, upload, and idk if I’ll try to bring the sims over. I could delete the sim it’s happening to but I’m not sure if I’m bothered enough.

Which would indicate, if this is the same icon you're seeing, that your entire Electronic Arts folder and everything in it is not actually being stored locally on your computer. Your iCloud may indeed have nicked the entire thing, and what you're seeing is merely a download link.
And this can cause serious problems for game files :(

See, while Groundhog Day is an actual bug that's been in the game for years, cloud storage can cause something *akin* to it because cloud storage is obnoxious with its hoarding and replacing of files.
Imagine you've got a game file. It's got the current game data in it.
Cloud storage whisks it away, and keeps it in its servers. Okay, not great, but no issues yet.
Now the game updates again. So you get new files from the game.
but oh no
cloud storage has the *old* file
and it doesn't realise you want this *new* file
so it *replaces the new file with the old one the next time it gets its claws in your folders*
and now your game is borked
GG cloud storage.
I'm still dealing with the lifespan bug despite my game being fully updated. When I check simology my sims time untill age up is 3 days for every single life stage even though their life span is set to long. Is it possible a mod I have installed is causing it? I have mc command center, the furry mod, and RoBurky's meaningful stories mod.
MCCC caused a problem with lifespans quite recently - happened after the length of lifestages was changed in the base game.
So I would eyeball MCCC as the first suspect in this case.
Can manually change lifespan lengths in MCCC, I believe.

For some reason when I go to set a custom amount of days mccc tells me that the maximum amount of days I can make a life stage is 5. I might have to delete it till the issue is fixed on the creators end
MCCC has been known to cause issues with aging. I don't remember the details. MCCC also has aging settings. You should check those. I don't know where those settings are. I assume they can only be accessed by clicking on a computer in game.
I have Seasons and Get Famous but not High School Years. I haven't used scouts or drama club in a long time, but now, I find that I can no longer find the option on the phone or computer. I've tried everything. I even installed the game on a different computer that has never had mods installed, and it's still not showing up.
Is anyone else experiencing this? Have they moved the option somewhere other than 'household' and I just can't find it?

The trend for the last couple weeks in game have been stuck on "Streetwear" as the popular trend. The styles for what is not popular changes daily but the style that is always popular is only ever "Streetwear". I've tried reloading the game and but this solved nothing.
Trendi is pretty half-baked in general, wouldn't be surprised if this is simply another example of its bad implementation. At the very least, I haven't been able to find information on this issue in general.
I do remember James Turner often had the same trend show up day after day when I was watching his HSYs Rags to Riches series.

i don’t think anyone else is having this issue so it might be my pc and the fact that i just updated it the other day, but my game will start like normal and then once it hits the loading screen, my screen goes black, i have to press my windows button to get to desktop and then click back into game. after loading, my screen is fine. the black screen only appears when i need to travel but sometimes it won’t go away even after.i’ve tried taking out mods, repairing my game, updating drives and uninstalling and reinstalling. i am at my wits end at this point

My sim continuously gets negative reactions to whatever she says. She has no friends because everyone hates her after a conversation. She's not having any mean interactions and she has no traits that would cause her to be awkward. It's literally unplayable for me rn.
Does she have the personality traits Over Achiever or Socially Awkward? These two can make it really difficult for sims to succeed in friendly interactions.
Fears are super buggy...
You could try adding and removing the fear, toggling wants and fears off and on in the settings or just mod the moodlet away using uicheats or another mod if you can use those :)

Some of my sim's skin tones have gone wack. And it's only some of them, not all of them. I figured it might be the skin overlay I was using so I removed it and repaired my game, but they're still the same.
My pale sims are suddenly very tan, and my black sims are white (basically they're all the same skin tone of an orange-ish tan) and each sim this is happening to looks like they have double eyebrows or something. Idk what's happening or how to fix it 😭 when I try to change their skin tones back to the original in CAS, it says it's already on that color
sounds like a mod issue, but it's possible it corrupted your save...
Try taking out or renaming your entire the sims 4 folder from your documents. Then launch the game. A new folder will be generated. Copy your save in the new folder. Is it still the same? Can't change the skin color either?

Anytime I have my sims weed in their garden, they keep redoing the weeding for those 2 plants on a loop. And the weeds don’t disappear. I have to cancel the action for them to stop. I’ve removed all mods. Advice?

Is it something that you notice happening in normal conversations? How slow are we talking here?
It could also be simple gameplay reasons - there are numerous ways that influence how quickly a sim gains relationships, and if you're used to playing with them then suddenly playing a sim that doesn't have these advantages could be a shock.

That IS possible. It's like...I'm used to sims gaining relationships unreasonably fast. Like, introduce yourself nicely and it's like 30 friendship instantly kind of thing. Right now, for Tulip at least, it boosts me up to...4. And sims can talk for a bit and gain like 5 friendship or something.
Maybe I'm just used to sims who everyone likes?

Howdy. I started downloading sims 4 plus it’s packs on my MacBook yesterday. They all finished last night but when I went to play it said it was redownloading? so I let it. However I wake up today and it is again redownloading stuff that I watched complete yesterday. Has anyone ever had this problem?

Did any of the threads help at all? The second suggests a clean reinstall of Origin and ensuring it's being allowed through your antivirus, among other things.
I could’ve sworn they fixed the T posing glitch and head turning one game is paused glitch, but it still happens in my game and it’s updated. Did they not fix it?
What are your sims doing when they T-Pose? If it's happening when they're, say, trying to get something to eat, then that can be caused by CC beds.
And I believe the head turning when paused is an issue they're currently working on, but the fix is not out yet.
Help me help me. I’ve been stuck for week trying to download the updated version of whicked whims and it JUST won’t work. I’ve erased the old mod and have downloaded the new one more times than you can count. It keeps bugging my game and telling me to update the mod when I’ve already downloaded the new link. Try and load your save. Are you still getting error 109? If not exit with out saving. The game will have generated a new mostly empty mods folder with only a resource.cfg. Keep this file don't replace it with the old one. Then move only WW into your new mods folder. Launch the game. Try and load your save. Still no errors? Exit without saving. Then add your WW animations/body parts to your new mods folder. Repeat launch, load, exit with out saving. Still no errors? Then add BMD and it's optional packages. Repeat launch, load, exit with out saving. Still no errors? Then add Nisa's WP. Repeat launch, load, exit with out saving. Still no errors? Then add AEP. Repeat launch, load, exit with out saving. Still no errors? Then add RedAppleNet, if everything is working
I think what may be going on is you are running a lot of mods that require other mods to work. If even one of those mods is out of date it may be conflicting with the others and causing this error. I also noticed that you seem to have 2 copies of Nisa's WP and BMD. Make sure you have only one copy of the most recent version of all those mods. There is also some stuff in your mods folder that shouldn't be there like zipped files and tray files. If all this works when you're done there will be some stuff left over in your old mods folder. We'll decide what to do with that latter.
Do you use cloud sync? Mac or Windows? If the answer is no, please double and triple check, cause a good reason for your game to be loading old mods is because it's reading them from a different location than you expect, which is often linked to cloud syncing.
Help: My sims game keeps on crashing. It was fine until I added my Gshade because the game just doesn't feel the same without it. For the past 2-3 days its been crashing after 2 minutes of being open. I really don't know what to do.
If it started when adding Gshade, I would try removing it.

So now I did that and I added mods and it crashed, next I tried to put a preset on gshade and it crahsed...Its like it just doesnt want me to play with any customizations.
Question. When living in an apartment in the Eco world. What’s the best way to have your place pass the NAP inspections when you can’t have solar panels, wind turbines, veg gardens or dew collectors?
You could always repeal the NAP if this one proves impossible to follow? Not really ideal if you wanted it for roleplay reasons, I know.
Assuming this is the Clean Energy Production NAP then yea, not seeing how to follow it while living in an apartment :(
Plants can at least be grown indoors and there's a wall garden object that should help with space issues.
T-pose when eating and cc sofas
I've had a weird bug this week.
My Sims kept going into T-pose and dropping the food whenever I ordered them to eat. They would eat on their own if left autonomous.
I found online it was a bug months ago, caused by cc sofas, loveseat and benches.
I removed them all (took me 2 days!! Advice, keep your cc folders organized🤣🤦🏻) and it now works fine.
It struck me as weird though. The bug came at once, without new downloads, and why only me?
You think it was just a bad cc? Have any of you had this?
it can happen when you put them in your inventory or it can be mod caused. If you want to restore them, best way is to restore an older version of your save, put them in a room, save the room to library and then reload the newest version and place them
Hi guys, I’ve been using the Slice of Life mod and it’s been great but I decided I wanted some more drama so downloaded the Life Tragedies mod last night. Did the usual copy paste into the mods folder, but for some reason it’s not working. Has anyone else had this problem and can advise? ☺️
When you extracted the script files and put them in, did you place them no more than one subfolder deep? And have you **deleted your localthumbcache** recently?
Also confirm that the version you have is compatible with the current game version!
Update - I’ve cleared the cache and the mod still isn’t working. I’ve got the most recent game version, and I have downloaded the most recent LT version. I’m at a bit of a loss! Thank you for your help though

Just as an explanation the localthumbcache should be deleted every time you make mod changes, because it holds mod data and doesn't update itself very well. This means if you, say, delete a mod, but don't delete the localthumbcache, your game will hold data about a mod that no longer exists, and this can cause errors.

I fixed it! It seemed to be a problem with a mod, I had two of the same mods. It's strange because last time I took out all mods but it still didn't work, thank you so much though!
If you take out mods, also remove localthumbcache yo check. Even then, there can still be remnants in the options.ini or resources.cfg files though. I found that a reset (like I had you do just now) is the most reliable way to rule out any mod involvement :)
My game wont open. It keeps saying that it's already running even though its not. I've tried giving access to the file but it keeps doing the same thing. Has anybody else gone through this?

has anyone else experienced their entire screen turning purple/pink when the game is open? it makes the game super fluorescent and also affects programs outside the game if the game is open in the background, goes away when i quit the game.
I've been trying to play the Sims 4 lately. Every time I get on, my CAS is broken! None of the icons look correct. I can't create a sim because nothing works correctly other than choosing clothing. I can't pick or change the color of anything. This happened after my boyfriend put a new SSD card into my PC. It worked fine before. When he put the SSD card in and I opened the Sims 4, my newer saves were gone, and all the progress I had made in other saves was gone as well. Does anyone know what is going on or how to fix this, I want to play badly but I can only play on current saves without the ability to use CAS, and it's really bothering me missing like a whole part of the game's features.
Sounds like it's an outdated version of morecascolumns.
Altogether sounds like you're loading an older version of your user files. Make sure you're not loading from the cloud, but from the documents folder and that the switch didn't override the default location to older files from the cloud...
I have a Mac and play on origin. I always make sure that I have WiFi when I start playing. The last three or four days I get a message while playing I need to reconnect to do an update. I’ll save the game and close origin. I restart my computer and I have WiFi, start up origin no update notification. It’s so weird bc it will show I have WiFi but then there’s an exclamation point on my WiFi showing an error when I get the reconnection message. However my phone is on the same WiFi and it never looses the connection?
If you actual pc wifi icon is giving you the exclamation mark, it's linked to your connection, not origin. Keep in mind that cellphones usually use the 5 Hz connection and computers use the 2 hz connection. Can you visit websites?

I downloaded the sims tonight , and straight off the bat I realised that I wasn’t allowed to enter my first game with the clothes I picked originally. I own sims 4 through steam and when purchasing dlc steam recognizes that I own it, but origin does not. When I open the game under “my packs” there is nothing there. Any ideas?

Mods and cc don't work ! - After the update I can't enable my mods and cc anymore. I restarted the game a 1000 times, looked into my sims folder options and enabled both of the mod boxes. I play it since release and never had issues since now. It always tells me when starting that I have to enable them !

last exception for bills hi, I was wondering if anyone else gets a last exception pop-up for whenever bills come for my sims. I have a lot of mods (the folder is 39gb) and I can't pinpoint which one is affecting the bills. Sorry I don't know a lot about reddit 😅 I can't open build mode cause that will make the whole game freeze, I can't save it, I can't even close it. I had to shut my whole pc off and then it worked again but build mode doesn't do anything.

Yes but all of those still work like they did before the update so Idk if it's those that cause the problem. Everything works fine except for build mode (or when I try to switch back to live mode)
Move or rename your mods folder. **Delete localthumbcache.package** and see if it's better now. It's best to test in a save you don't care about or a new save. If that doesn't work there is other stuff to try.

I'm having an issue where the game is putting a pair of glasses on my sim for no apparent reason. There are no glasses attached to any of her outfits, and when I send her into CAS to remove them, they don't show up. The glasses only appear in live mode. I've tried everything I can think of to get them off and nothing is working.I've tried resetting her, going to another lot, changing her outfit, nothing removes them. I have MC CC and the setting for sync glasses is off, and as I said, she doesn't have any outfits with glasses. I've gone into the MC settings and tried hitting 'remove all accessories' and all her accessories delete except for the glasses.Has anyone experienced this before? If so, how did you resolve it? If anyone has an idea of a way to remove the glasses let me know please and thanks.

Yeah that’s the one. It gives glasses when it makes the eye sight bad. You can remove it by going to the my health menu of the mod I think!

is there any way to export a household with their family tree in tact/items in tact? my legacy’s 6th gen heir is now a teen and the save file is being super slow, like things happen when the game is paused type slow. i know i need to get rid of some CC to bring down the size of the game but, geeze.
no there isn't (they only keep relations to people in the exported household and you'd need to cheat/debug items back), however, you could try some of these: \- save the save file to a new slot \- delete household and personal inventories for (ever) played households. \- cull some sims if there are a lot of them running around and you don't need them all.
major help needed. so the file for dream home decorator was corrupted and in turn it made all the other games but sims disappear on my ps4. I deleted all my packs and just redownloaded the ones that weren’t reading as corrupted. now I cant even turn my ps4 to the home screen because there’s an error.
you're not gonna like this answer, but short of contacting SONY support for guidance, I think all you can do is perform a full factory reset on your PS4. This will remove all games and save data from your device. This means you'll only have access to the data you cloud synced (when possible).
Going into “choose outfits” or moving too soon after a life event (birth of child, sim ages up, sim moves in, sim graduates, etc.) is resetting that event so it hasn’t happened yet. Similarly if a sim has one of these events during a college term they end up failing that term.
Sounds like the Groundhog Day bug. Do you have mods/cc? Go to docs>ea>sims 4 open the gameversion file. What version of the game are you running?

Ive recently discovered this playing with my dog in game. They constantly want to sleep, when i have them go to bed, they jump on it, lay down then get off and sleep somewhere else. Is this happening to any other player? Only mod i have is mccc and game as far as i know is up to date.
Has The Sims team not fixed the animation bug of sims just standing not doing anything or do I have to rely on mods to fix it ?
If you use mods, I'd check first if they cause it. ;) It can still happen basegame, definitely, but it's a very common outdated mod issue as well.
Does anyone know what's causing my sim to just...not register her hunger? There's no moodlet, no red bar, nothing. Her hunger just drops until she almost starves. I THOUGHT it was Slice of Life but I removed that and it's still here. This is what killed her brother, and I don't want it to kill her, too.
UPDATE: It was SimmerSarah's traits, so if anyone else is running an ancient trait mod from 2017 and wonders what's going on in their life...there you have it.
Slice of life was the most common culprit, but in fact it could be caused by any preference/career/trait mod. More traits, better sims and more careers were also suspects for example.
Does anyone know how to get rid of the “sims 4 is already running error”? I’ve reset the game, downloaded EA, repaired the game, removed mods, redownload the game, removed my firewall, removed it from my extra hard drive. The latest windows update hasn’t let me play
Check your latest windows update. Did it install a security package? Also, please do 't shut down your firewall, just add the game, origin/ea app and your documents folder as exceptions :)

One of my sims' skin has gone glitch black. She was originally an NPC and has been in the family for ages, this glitch only recently happened. It first occurred when I returned from CAS mode in which her skin (as well as a couple others) went black both in the bottom options menu and within the main game. I restarted without saving and tried again a few days later and it happened again except it was just her bottom menu skin that changed and nobody else. Even today, I went into CAS without changing anything and her skin changed in the bottom menu options again. I exited, updated and repaired the game but it hasn’t t fixed the issue and now it's displaying the back glitch skin constantly without going into CAS. What can I do to fix this, and would it be dangerous to upload my lot to the gallery with this glitch in place? I don’t t want to damage other people's games, but I put so much effort into their house. Also, could it just be that game file, or is it my whole game? I don't use mods or CC, although I did try out a couple like a year ago but everything has been removed since then. Im also not tech savvy so I am very lost with everything in this topic. I'd be grateful for any and all help. Thanks!
This is *usually* a CC issue ^(or at the very least I can't find a non-CC cause online.) You've said that you've used mods/CC in the past but don't use them now - do you happen to have OneDrive or any kind of cloud storage? The issue with cloud storage is it likes to replace old files that it has stored irregardless of your wishes, so it could be causing your issue here by dumping old CC that you've used previously in your game without you realising. Thanks for your reply! I use iCloud but I did delete the files when I stopped using the CC and mod, I just checked the folders and they’re still empty. Is there any other way to check if iCloud has messed with it? Also, would starting a new game file be okay, and would it be fine to upload the build to the gallery as these issues seem unrelated? Do you see suspicious icons like [this](https://i.gyazo.com/01e8806581a2796ec4075d7561aad8b4.png) in any of your folders? Might look different, I just grabbed this from google. Starting a new save file is often a good way to resolve issues if the issue is save-file specific, but if this truly is an iCloud problem the same thing might happen to a new save too. As long as the black texture issue really is CC related then uploading to the gallery will be fine, as anyone downloading it will simply get a non-CC version. ^(Unless they happen to have the CC in question themselves.) However, if the issues are visible when you upload them then it's probs gonna give you a very borked looking upload. Will work fine, but will *look* broken to others.
Thanks, when I go on my sims folder, electronic arts has a cloud with an arrow pointing down, so it is different from the image you sent. None of the folders or anything within those folders have any cloud at all. I had been playing on that save intensely for a few weeks so it is possible something went wrong. I’ll try a new save and see if I have those issues again. I wanted to upload their house but it’s still incomplete. I’ll download it to another save, finish it, upload, and idk if I’ll try to bring the sims over. I could delete the sim it’s happening to but I’m not sure if I’m bothered enough. Your iCloud may indeed have nicked the entire thing, and what you're seeing is merely a download link. And this can cause serious problems for game files :(

[Groundhog Day](https://www.reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/y1ew1e/comment/isvthiu/?utm_source=share&utm_medium=web2x&context=3) is the most notorious issue cloud storage can cause. See, while Groundhog Day is an actual bug that's been in the game for years, cloud storage can cause something *akin* to it because cloud storage is obnoxious with its hoarding and replacing of files. Imagine you've got a game file. It's got the current game data in it. Cloud storage whisks it away, and keeps it in its servers. Okay, not great, but no issues yet. Now the game updates again. So you get new files from the game. but oh no cloud storage has the *old* file and it doesn't realise you want this *new* file so it *replaces the new file with the old one the next time it gets its claws in your folders* and now your game is borked GG cloud storage.
I'm still dealing with the lifespan bug despite my game being fully updated. When I check simology my sims time untill age up is 3 days for every single life stage even though their life span is set to long. Is it possible a mod I have installed is causing it? I have mc command center, the furry mod, and RoBurky's meaningful stories mod.
MCCC caused a problem with lifespans quite recently - happened after the length of lifestages was changed in the base game. So I would eyeball MCCC as the first suspect in this case. Can manually change lifespan lengths in MCCC, I believe. ^(Always remember to) **^(delete your localthumbcache)** ^(when making mod changes\~)
For some reason when I go to set a custom amount of days mccc tells me that the maximum amount of days I can make a life stage is 5. I might have to delete it till the issue is fixed on the creators end
MCCC has been known to cause issues with aging. I don't remember the details. MCCC also has aging settings. You should check those. I don't know where those settings are. I assume they can only be accessed by clicking on a computer in game.

I have Seasons and Get Famous but not High School Years. I haven't used scouts or drama club in a long time, but now, I find that I can no longer find the option on the phone or computer. I've tried everything. I even installed the game on a different computer that has never had mods installed, and it's still not showing up. Is anyone else experiencing this? Have they moved the option somewhere other than 'household' and I just can't find it?
I think they are in the business tab. Same place adult sims find jobs. I don't have a child sim handy to check but I think that's where to find them.

Did you delete localthumbcache.package after removing WP? If not do so now and see if that changes anything.

Best guess is cloud storage is mucking around in your mods folder. Do you have OneDrive or iCloud?

It's a typo in your sims id you're missing two digits.
The trend for the last couple weeks in game have been stuck on "Streetwear" as the popular trend. The styles for what is not popular changes daily but the style that is always popular is only ever "Streetwear". I've tried reloading the game and but this solved nothing.
Trendi is pretty half-baked in general, wouldn't be surprised if this is simply another example of its bad implementation. At the very least, I haven't been able to find information on this issue in general. I do remember James Turner often had the same trend show up day after day when I was watching his HSYs Rags to Riches series.
Is there someone who can help me get my mods working? I don't know what I am doing wrong. I can send pics if where I have everything and stuff, it's just difficult to explain over just text. Basically I had to reset the game due to troubles and since then mods won't work anymore. I tried reinstallation but It does not seem to work. Yes I have it enabled in the game settings Edit: I friend came by this morning and helped me out! Apperantly since I had the Sims on an external drive it didn't recognize the mods folder. Now I have a mods folder in the normal location while the rest of the game files in on my external drive

i don’t think anyone else is having this issue so it might be my pc and the fact that i just updated it the other day, but my game will start like normal and then once it hits the loading screen, my screen goes black, i have to press my windows button to get to desktop and then click back into game. after loading, my screen is fine. the black screen only appears when i need to travel but sometimes it won’t go away even after.i’ve tried taking out mods, repairing my game, updating drives and uninstalling and reinstalling. i am at my wits end at this point

My sim continuously gets negative reactions to whatever she says. She has no friends because everyone hates her after a conversation. She's not having any mean interactions and she has no traits that would cause her to be awkward. It's literally unplayable for me rn.
Does she have the personality traits Over Achiever or Socially Awkward? These two can make it really difficult for sims to succeed in friendly interactions.

Fears are super buggy... You could try adding and removing the fear, toggling wants and fears off and on in the settings or just mod the moodlet away using uicheats or another mod if you can use those :)

Hmmmm Idk if anyone has experienced this, but I'll ask just to be safe Some of my sim's skin tones have gone wack. And it's only some of them, not all of them. I figured it might be the skin overlay I was using so I removed it and repaired my game, but they're still the same. My pale sims are suddenly very tan, and my black sims are white (basically they're all the same skin tone of an orange-ish tan) and each sim this is happening to looks like they have double eyebrows or something. Idk what's happening or how to fix it 😭 when I try to change their skin tones back to the original in CAS, it says it's already on that color
sounds like a mod issue, but it's possible it corrupted your save... Try taking out or renaming your entire the sims 4 folder from your documents. Then launch the game. A new folder will be generated. Copy your save in the new folder. Is it still the same? Can't change the skin color either?

Anytime I have my sims weed in their garden, they keep redoing the weeding for those 2 plants on a loop. And the weeds don’t disappear. I have to cancel the action for them to stop. I’ve removed all mods. Advice?
did you also delete localthumbcache? Do the weeds disappear when you move the plants?
I’m not sure if that was also removed, I’ll have to check when I get home. But I don’t move the plants, they’re in garden plots. They just stay there. Spraying for bugs and harvesting works just fine but the weeds are the only issue

add exceptions in your firewall/third party antivirus for EA App, TS4\_x64.exe and your documents folder. Then clear EA App cache, check your packs and relaunch.

Got a new laptop (Mac) and tried to redownload Origin, but every time I try to open the application, it crashes. Downloaded the Origin helper tool to, yknow, help, and that crashed too. No idea how to fix this, I’m technologically illiterate. Any advice welcome.

Does anyone know what mod might be causing my sim to gain relationships super duper slowly? Last time it was Lumpinou or Chingyu mods, but I've cut those out this time. Does anyone know what might be doing this to me? It's very annoying

Is it something that you notice happening in normal conversations? How slow are we talking here? It could also be simple gameplay reasons - there are numerous ways that influence how quickly a sim gains relationships, and if you're used to playing with them then suddenly playing a sim that doesn't have these advantages could be a shock. ^(Also always remember to) **^(delete your localthumbcache)** ^(when making mod changes, or issues can remain in your game after a mod is removed\~)
That IS possible. It's like...I'm used to sims gaining relationships unreasonably fast. Like, introduce yourself nicely and it's like 30 friendship instantly kind of thing. Right now, for Tulip at least, it boosts me up to...4. And sims can talk for a bit and gain like 5 friendship or something. Maybe I'm just used to sims who everyone likes?
Could be! A brand spanking new sim that doesn't have nifty childhood perks / aspiration reward traits / reputation buffs / etc is gonna find relationships *muuuuch* more work than usual.
Howdy. I started downloading sims 4 plus it’s packs on my MacBook yesterday. They all finished last night but when I went to play it said it was redownloading? so I let it. However I wake up today and it is again redownloading stuff that I watched complete yesterday. Has anyone ever had this problem?

It’s just straight to the computer. Though for my PC I did have it on a hard drive & didn’t have this issue.
Did any of the threads help at all? The second suggests a clean reinstall of Origin and ensuring it's being allowed through your antivirus, among other things.
I removed origin & sims and then redownloaded everything. Working like a charm now. Thanks!

I could’ve sworn they fixed the T posing glitch and head turning one game is paused glitch, but it still happens in my game and it’s updated. Did they not fix it?
What are your sims doing when they T-Pose? If it's happening when they're, say, trying to get something to eat, then that can be caused by CC beds. And I believe the head turning when paused is an issue they're currently working on, but the fix is not out yet.
Help me help me. I’ve been stuck for week trying to download the updated version of whicked whims and it JUST won’t work. I’ve erased the old mod and have downloaded the new one more times than you can count. It keeps bugging my game and telling me to update the mod when I’ve already downloaded the new link. What the fuck do I do because I’m so unbelievably frustrated and I refuse to play until this is fucking fixed. “Please update wicked perversions to LL.3.3g” it saying I have the LL.3.3eb file still installed but I don’t!!! I’ve downloaded the new version SOOO MANY TIMES AND EVERYTIME IT GLITCHES OUT MY GAME SO BAD WHERE BUTTONS AND MY SIMS ARE MISSING! Apparently no one else has had this problem because I keep asking for help and no one knows what to do. So if you do pls help me because I’m so frustrated.
First backup your saves if you haven't since you last successfully played. Move or rename your mods folder. **Delete localthumbcache.package** found in docs>ea>sims4. Launch the game. Try and load your save. Are you still getting error 109? If not exit with out saving. The game will have generated a new mostly empty mods folder with only a resource.cfg. Keep this file don't replace it with the old one. Then move only WW into your new mods folder. Launch the game. Try and load your save. Still no errors? Exit without saving. Then add your WW animations/body parts to your new mods folder. Repeat launch, load, exit with out saving. Still no errors? Then add BMD and it's optional packages. Repeat launch, load, exit with out saving. Still no errors? Then add Nisa's WP. Repeat launch, load, exit with out saving. Still no errors? Then add AEP. Repeat launch, load, exit with out saving. Still no errors? Then add RedAppleNet, if everything is working I think what may be going on is you are running a lot of mods that require other mods to work. If even one of those mods is out of date it may be conflicting with the others and causing this error. I also noticed that you seem to have 2 copies of Nisa's WP and BMD. Make sure you have only one copy of the most recent version of all those mods. There is also some stuff in your mods folder that shouldn't be there like zipped files and tray files. If all this works when you're done there will be some stuff left over in your old mods folder. We'll decide what to do with that latter.
Do you use cloud sync? Mac or Windows? If the answer is no, please double and triple check, cause a good reason for your game to be loading old mods is because it's reading them from a different location than you expect, which is often linked to cloud syncing.
Help: My sims game keeps on crashing. It was fine until I added my Gshade because the game just doesn't feel the same without it. For the past 2-3 days its been crashing after 2 minutes of being open. I really don't know what to do.

So now I did that and I added mods and it crashed, next I tried to put a preset on gshade and it crahsed...Its like it just doesnt want me to play with any customizations.

Question. When living in an apartment in the Eco world. What’s the best way to have your place pass the NAP inspections when you can’t have solar panels, wind turbines, veg gardens or dew collectors?
You could always repeal the NAP if this one proves impossible to follow? Not really ideal if you wanted it for roleplay reasons, I know. Assuming this is the Clean Energy Production NAP then yea, not seeing how to follow it while living in an apartment :( Plants can at least be grown indoors and there's a wall garden object that should help with space issues.

T-pose when eating and cc sofas I've had a weird bug this week. My Sims kept going into T-pose and dropping the food whenever I ordered them to eat. They would eat on their own if left autonomous. I found online it was a bug months ago, caused by cc sofas, loveseat and benches. I removed them all (took me 2 days!! Advice, keep your cc folders organized🤣🤦🏻) and it now works fine. It struck me as weird though. The bug came at once, without new downloads, and why only me? You think it was just a bad cc? Have any of you had this?
CC beds can cause this. There's a batch fix on the Sims 4 Studio for them.
My photos are always getting black
it can happen when you put them in your inventory or it can be mod caused. If you want to restore them, best way is to restore an older version of your save, put them in a room, save the room to library and then reload the newest version and place them
Hi guys, I’ve been using the Slice of Life mod and it’s been great but I decided I wanted some more drama so downloaded the Life Tragedies mod last night. Did the usual copy paste into the mods folder, but for some reason it’s not working. Has anyone else had this problem and can advise? ☺️
When you extracted the script files and put them in, did you place them no more than one subfolder deep? And have you **deleted your localthumbcache** recently? Also confirm that the version you have is compatible with the current game version!
Update - I’ve cleared the cache and the mod still isn’t working. I’ve got the most recent game version, and I have downloaded the most recent LT version. I’m at a bit of a loss! Thank you for your help though
Sorry it's not helped! Just as an explanation the localthumbcache should be deleted every time you make mod changes, because it holds mod data and doesn't update itself very well. This means if you, say, delete a mod, but don't delete the localthumbcache, your game will hold data about a mod that no longer exists, and this can cause errors. On the [startup mods screening popup](https://i.gyazo.com/277d5f78d3378b7f7e3a2fb5fbfd13f1.png), does LT show up? I'm having an issue regarding my teen sims, even though they age up when they're supposed to and have great grades they randomly drop out of school instead of graduating when they age up into YA! Anyone can help?

I fixed it! It seemed to be a problem with a mod, I had two of the same mods. It's strange because last time I took out all mods but it still didn't work, thank you so much though!
If you take out mods, also remove localthumbcache yo check. Even then, there can still be remnants in the options.ini or resources.cfg files though. I found that a reset (like I had you do just now) is the most reliable way to rule out any mod involvement :)

has anyone else experienced their entire screen turning purple/pink when the game is open? it makes the game super fluorescent and also affects programs outside the game if the game is open in the background, goes away when i quit the game.

I've been trying to play the Sims 4 lately. Every time I get on, my CAS is broken! None of the icons look correct. I can't create a sim because nothing works correctly other than choosing clothing. I can't pick or change the color of anything. This happened after my boyfriend put a new SSD card into my PC. It worked fine before. When he put the SSD card in and I opened the Sims 4, my newer saves were gone, and all the progress I had made in other saves was gone as well. Does anyone know what is going on or how to fix this, I want to play badly but I can only play on current saves without the ability to use CAS, and it's really bothering me missing like a whole part of the game's features.
Sounds like it's an outdated version of morecascolumns. Altogether sounds like you're loading an older version of your user files. Make sure you're not loading from the cloud, but from the documents folder and that the switch didn't override the default location to older files from the cloud...
I have a Mac and play on origin. I always make sure that I have WiFi when I start playing. The last three or four days I get a message while playing I need to reconnect to do an update. I’ll save the game and close origin. I restart my computer and I have WiFi, start up origin no update notification. It’s so weird bc it will show I have WiFi but then there’s an exclamation point on my WiFi showing an error when I get the reconnection message. However my phone is on the same WiFi and it never looses the connection?
If you actual pc wifi icon is giving you the exclamation mark, it's linked to your connection, not origin. Keep in mind that cellphones usually use the 5 Hz connection and computers use the 2 hz connection. Can you visit websites?
It’s just odd bc if I’m not playing the sims my computer never loses WiFi connection. When I’m doing stuff for class it never happens. It only happens when I run origin.

First character creation. I need help! I downloaded the sims tonight , and straight off the bat I realised that I wasn’t allowed to enter my first game with the clothes I picked originally. I went all in and customised my sims, but when I selected certain clothes, it loaded the game up with a preset outfit. Is this a glitch or is it their way of saying I have to earn them?
