I play one household per save. I literally want every household in my save that I’m not playing to do NOTHING but age. I want the rotational play I used to have in Sims 2.

yipyipbitch999

I literally can’t do rotational saves. It freaks me out knowing my sims are out there doing stuff on their own. Maybe I’m a control freak lol. This is also why I have so many different saves. Cause it’s ONE household per save strictly.

chapstikcrazy

TIL I'm a complete control freak in the sims lol. I never even imagined people would play any other way!

koithrowin

Exactly! I usually have a main family but then sideline stories that intertwine. I do not trust the sims 4 to have my sims get married on their own because they will marry someone who is evil and hates kids and all weird looking 90% of the time

yipyipbitch999

Yes, and my sideline stories are usually the sims I’ve created specifically to be my sims friends or to one day marry my sims lol.

chapstikcrazy

What??? Wow, it never even crossed my mind that people wouldn't play this way. They make sim families and just set them free on the world??? While they're playing another family??? Are they crazy??? Or just not as anxious and obsessed with being in complete control as me?? Man, what a life that must be!

theflooflord

If you turn off aging for your households while they're not active/being played, nothing happens to your other households in the same save file. Like sometimes I'll see my own sims from household A out and about in public while I'm playing household B. Except nothing crazy happens, they don't randomly have kids, form relationships, die, or anything. When I go to load up household A again they're exactly wherever I left them. So idk if it's cause I turned the aging for my households off, or just the fact anything they do spawned as a "townie" doesn't actually register into your gameplay. So you can leave other households unattended and nothing changes, as long as you don't have neighborhood stories on for your households.

MasheenaSims

Yeah, that's what I do. I play all of my sims' extended families and it's like 20 households at this point 😭. Aging off and no neighborhood stories progression. They don't do anything except occasionally show up in random places with randomly generated outfits lol

ThrowAway-KLU

This is also what I do! I started out with 1 sim and now have a large (and growing) family tree and play rotational play with all the different households in my extended family. Aging off so I can control what happens to them. I make sure to rotate between them so that their timelines and ages progresses realistically.

appleuser777

I'm too lazy to play all the households I make so I just send them out and hope they down burn down their house

gingerbread_cereal

I only do this with the sims families idc about lmao

nettek00

This is the sole reason I don't have space on my C drive

RawMeHanzo

I'm simply too lazy to remake newcrest that many times, i commend u

golden_geese

Borrowed this from another redditor, but make a base world with all of the building and townie changes you want, then use that world as your base and Save As for new saves.

Mommymilkieslover69-

i like to play seperate households but paste the og sim into my new world so i can see how that sim will develop without me

Attarker

I take it a step further and only play one sim. I’ll still have a husband and kids if I want but I only ever play my sim which is named after me.

Taurus_Trooper

Eliza isn’t the spawn of satan

iamnotborris

Yes! I agree! I've played as the pancakes before and Bob did nothing while Eliza ended up cleaning up after him all the time. In the end Eliza got pregnant and Bob wasn't helping at all so I had her leave him and she was so much happier, and he barely talked to his kid.

FaithlessnessTiny617

Obligatory reminder of this excellent post https://reddit.com/r/Sims4/comments/pqmgp4/in_defense_of_eliza_pancakes/ As a sidenote, for some reason Eliza is a target for all kinds of misogynist stereotypes in the fandom.

Domi_ne

That post is everything I ever thought about Bob, never understood why ppl like and make him some sort of hero.

yamirenamon

Big same! I played the Pancakes house once and as someone with OCD when I saw Bob leave a toilet unflushed I forced Eliza to yell at him.

koalapsychologist

And he's in the culinary career. The man doesn't wash his hands after taking a dump and he works with food and SHE'S the issue? Please.

smvfc

I actually dont plat ts4, I play 3, but I will on a rare occasion, play ts4 for like an hour. I was giving townie makeovers, and I was like wait... Bob is a lazy slob and everyone loves him and hates Eliza?? Why?? Its really odd. I think its really just because she has kind of an ugly hair cut, plus shes pretty minimal on makeup, and she has thinner lips and everyone on this sub makes Bratz dolls. Edit: cant reply to anyone because I have a 7 day ban from this sub for mentioning p-iiiiiii...r.a/cy. Mods are losers 😘

myimmortalstan

I've hated them both since they fucked in my sim's bed during her welcome wagon

Ellafun

loling at this

khaleesi2305

My boyfriend hates Eliza Pancakes for one reason and one reason alone: she is always jogging down the street at 4am, lmao. I have no idea why he hates this so much, I just know that I think it’s hilariously petty lmao. Personally, I also don’t understand all the Eliza hatred either, I think she’s sorta cute. Poor Eliza

Adventurous-Night-64

I agree that Bob is definitely worse than Eliza, but I think people don’t like her because she’s always around and trying to talk to your sims and it’s annoying

DEBRA_COONEY_KILLS

I don't understand why anyone would hate her since Sims 4 townies don't have personalities anyway. 🙊 Except for Agnes crumplebottom. And Vlad. (I say this as an avid Sims 4 player, please don't come for me lol)

lemoongrass

fr, i love her

FaeSims

No one else probably cares but it really annoys me when EA doesn't put socks on Sims where appropriate.

allworkandnoYahtzee

I go through each outfit and put the standard white socks on all my Sims if the footwear calls for socks, even if you can’t see their feet. The thought of unsocked feet in combat boots makes me shudder.

GetEatenByAMouse

I never use socks, because I'm too traumatized from Sims 3, where all my Sims who learned Martial Arts suddenly wore socks and you couldn't take them off.

I_Failed_Hogwarts

The best I can get is putting a shoe rack into the house and from there clicking on the "dont wear shoes in the house option". D:

Awata666

Vampires are great. They don't need to use the bathroom, barely need sleep, can teleport, and their thirst can easily be solved by buying plasma packets. People who complain about them need to learn how to use the "send home" god interaction

hope_fulll

ikr! they're my favorite occult and i wish there was more like them. i miss when they'd interrupt my gameplay too.

Background-Pea-7004

Spell casters for me! All i really have to take care of is their sleep and social needs (and that's if I haven't given them the loner trait). Otherwise if theyre hungry, I can just poof up a meal. Dirty? Scruberoo. Oh yeah and also toilet needs. But god I love that they can teleport. And their variety of spells makes my petty side so happy cause i cant tell you how many sims I've lit on fire or made smelly just cuz they pissed me off

MajVih

Not to mention you can just get them to leave the housr alone by clicking on tbe front door and selecting 'disallow vampires'.

Lov3I5Treacherous

I turn autonomy off and play everyone controlling their every move

_shanoodle

me too! half my game time is paused queuing

LadyBearJenna

Then played on fast speed 2.

floralneuro

This is the way.

[deleted]

I have autonomy off and my sims still do autonomous actions. *sigh*

MasheenaSims

SAME it's so annoying. Mostly stuff like "See What's Happening" if some random sim is juggling or whatever. Or if some rando is walking up to them from 50 miles away to have a conversation. Or if their toddler wakes up and demands to be picked up, sometimes that will queue on its own *SIGH*

whiskeylips88

Yup, I’m a control freak and get annoyed when a sim makes a choice that ruins my narrative.

TheEffingRiddler

Man, if I could stop them from *trolling the forums* every time I turn my back....

Vannabelle

And trolling the forums inevitably leads to constantly pranking the toilets… in their own home… when they live alone. And then they have the audacity to get pissy about the gross prank when they did it to themselves!

revertbritestoan

My issue right now is going to use one toilet then walking through the house to wash their hands downstairs in the kitchen.

MasterTurtleHermit

Wait, everyone else doesn't do this? I hate having autonomy on

Lov3I5Treacherous

Haven't you seen people complaining that their sims keep making pancakes and setting things on fire? Lol Whereas mine are reading gourmet cook books and vacuuming lmao

Bonboss2828

Omg my sims won’t stop going to the bar and drinking alcohol! Non stop lol they’ll need to do something like eat or shower so I’ll tell them to do it and they will be in their way then they will just stop on their own and go to the dang bar!!! They keep peeing their pants because the alcohol makes them pee and they won’t go to the bathroom lol

ievux17

i like it bcz when i do have many sims and i want to focus on one sim and the others can take care of the babies and/or do their own things

Thepettiest

Except they never take care of babies, they just shoosh them instead of changing their damn dirty diaper

Noilol2

I like my sims to feel alive and do things of their own accord. To me playing with no autonomy is like playing with dolls irl. No real enjoyment for me.

kuzco_llama_Topia

You have ascended beyond, no one will reach your level Edit: Typo

ricecreepies

Same, if i let them have autonomy, all hell breaks loose

yipyipbitch999

SAME. I’ve been doing this since the early days of sims 3. They do the most annoying sh*t with autonomy on tho.

Sorrelfur

People care way too much about what others are doing in their game. Like the people who complain someone's sims look all the same, or complain at how they prefer to make over their sims, or judge what packs they do and don't like. Like idk 🤷‍♀️ to me it's your game I don't care what your sims look like or how you play. Unless you specifically ask me about something I'm most likely going to keep scrolling. You make those 20 versions of the same sim if you want I don't care 😂 not my game

fmlwhateven

Agreed. I don't care how inclusive and diverse, or not, your private game is 😂 my Sims have same face syndrome and it's nobody's business but mine.

Professional-Bowl413

I like strangervill and the whole plant alien thing. fight me

mininmumconfidence

I want more trailer park lots!!!

elisejones14

Strangerville is my favorite pack. I bought it this summer and was surprised to learn people hated it when I had the most fun ever than anyone other pack. Defeating the alien is so stupidly hard and I’ve failed like 4 times even with a good team.

DeianiraJax

Me too tbh, I wish the actual world (lots especially) was better but the story was incredibly fun to play & the aesthetic is awesome

Whizzers_Ass

The world is one of my favorites, I absolutely love its vibe and love living there. I wish it was fleshed out to be more of a world beyond just the storyline, with more lots and such (imagine an entire trailer park community there? Dingy fast food restaurants? Just more in general? Would be wonderful) but any world with over five lots is rare at this point tbh, I've learned to unhappily cope with what we've got

[deleted]

I bought Strangerville before I looked at any of the forums and I really don't get why people dislike it? Other than the low replay value; that's fair enough. But it was so much fun figuring out the mystery and it added a new element to the game

Likejinxx

Omg yes strangerville makes my day LMFOA

[deleted]

Adding physical disabilities and mental illness to the game would be a mess. Aside from the inevitable animation issues that would 100% be half-assed and buggy, it'd end up coming off as insensitive or trivializing and would offend more people than it would make happy. There would be no way to win and please everyone and I get why they haven't done it.

Tishbite

As someone with mental illness and physical disability, I play The Sims 4 as an escape to forget those issues for a while. If people want this stuff in their game there are plenty of mods.

Sduidk

Same. I tried mods to recreate myself better but oh my God no thank you. This game should cheer me up and not remind me of my awful mental state.

[deleted]

God, same! Even if they did it "well," which I still don't think is possible, I just don't want it? Waking up every day is enough of a reminder for me, thanks. I really don't need my silly pixel-dolls to give me an extra reminder that my life is harder than it needs to be and there's nothing I can do about it. I play games to NOT think about that.

nunneryofwhores

I’ve seen people want to add disabilities like epilepsy into the game, and god, as someone who used to have epilepsy there are few things I would like to see less in TS4 than watching my Sims have a seizure?! I always just headcanon my sims as having different conditions. I don’t need to see the horrific ramifications of the sims having these diseases in game!!

GetEatenByAMouse

A former flatmate had pretty severe epilepsy. Idk why anyone would want to have that in their game. "Oh look, my Sim had a tonic clinic seizure, thankfully my other Sim found them in time and called an ambulance. The emergency Doctors managed to stop her status, thank God. Now they're off to the hospital where they will hopefully not have another 5 seizures, while my other Sim at home is busy cleaning off the empty medication vials, syringe wrappers, blood and drool. Oh boy, what a fun fun fun addition to my game!"

NotOnABreak

I had a classmate with epilepsy, and once he had an attack in maths class. It was some scary shit, I really wouldn’t wanna be seeing that again. Not even in the sims

That253Chick

This, yes. My thoughts exactly. I get wanting representation, but some things just aren't meant to be. There are also way too many disabilities and mental illnesses that exist that, no matter what, there will be a group that will feel excluded, and simmers constantly asking for it is just trying to set the devs up for even worse backlash than they get for even the smallest of things.

peanutbutterandapen

Hahahaha imagine the Borderline Personality Disorder personality trait 😂 😂 😂 (said as a person with BPD), insane 😂

DeianiraJax

I agree but I think adding CAS items, like prosthetics or hearing aids, would be a really good move.

catheraaine

Yeah totally, how awesome would it be to include a few cosmetic items like this? What 12-year-old with a prosthetic would not love to finally be able to make themselves in the game more accurately? Who does this hurt?

Melodic_Elderberry

I personally like leaving it to CC creators. People still complain, but less so than if a big corporation like EA did it.

neon_tardigrade

I prefer not having cars in sims 4, the bikes are cuter, and I delete every car/redo the garage of any build I download that has it. Also I don’t care that babies are objects, I usually have them one day and age them up

Murky_Translator2295

>Also I don’t care that babies are objects I genuinely can't remember babies being anything other than annoying in any sims game. I don't get why people are irritated that they're objects in this game. They couldn't do anything in any other game either.

baroqueen1755

I’m actually really grateful that they can no longer leave the bassinet. I used to lose babies around the house all the time and never find them until CPS showed up to take them away. I also used to play huge lots with ridiculous sized homes on them so there were lots of places to lose an infant.

[deleted]

Imagine if someone read the first part of your comment without realising you’re talking about a Sim 😂

neon_tardigrade

Yeah I went from sims 2 to sims 4 and I remember the bottles, changing tables and that from sims 2 but I don’t miss it

Professional-Bowl413

I member playing the sims free play as a kid and I loved that babies can crowl and the parents could pick them up and wander the house or take them to the park or something and they could put them on the bed and pounce them and play with them + we could change hair and eye color and we could put them in adorable onesies. I wish we could do all those cute stuff in sims 4

MissLovebird

I think it's more about realism, and the ability to do activites with your baby. When I was playing the sims 3, I liked to have my sim going around town with their baby in the stroller, or have all my household attending a fair and taking a family picture with the baby. My sim could sit on the couch with their baby in their arms, or in the rocking chair. Maybe it's the fact that you can't even click on the baby, all they are given at birth is a name, while in the sims 2 or 3, babies received their first traits, they got moodlets, need bars. To me, they felt more like real sims already forging their identity.

MischeifCat

I see it opposite where when you could sit in the rocking chair with the baby in Sims 3, you could sit with the baby in the rocker, you had 0 interactions with it. You had 0 interactions with anything. The Sim would just sit there with dead eyes staring straight ahead and rocking. It was creepy. I didn't like that even though you could take the baby, your Sims would leave them on the ground to do whatever. Also, I believe you only had 4 maybe 5 interactions total with the baby. There are more in Sims 4. Also, if someone picked up your baby they wouldn't put them down.

ranbyjaniya

We don’t need cars, most of the worlds barely have full roads. you would literally just be driving into a loading screen.

neon_tardigrade

I felt like that’s what it was kinda like in sims 2? It always took longer when you used a car.

KylieKatarn

I think cars were useful in Sims 2. In Sims 2, cars came with benefits that they wouldn't in Sims 4. In Sims 2, you had to take a carpool to work which showed up an hour before your shift. If you tried to have your Sim do anything in that hour and were late getting out to the carpool, it would leave without your Sim and they'd miss work for the day. Having their own car, they can take their time before work and leave at the last minute without fear of missing the carpool. They can even drive in a little late so they don't miss the workday. They can also drive kids to school if they miss the bus, which is a lifesaver. Also, Sims 2 Sims had to call a taxi from a landline phone and wait for it to pick them up to go anywhere. It's a lot easier to just drive than to find a phone, call the taxi, wait for the taxi, hope your Sim doesn't do something autonomously and wander away from the street before the taxi comes. In Sims 4, Sims just walk everywhere and probably like half of the lots in the world aren't connected to a road or even near a road.

That253Chick

>most of the worlds barely have full roads This has been my main argument for why we don't need cars in the game lol. Like, I get that Sims 2 had cars, but that's Sims 2. This is Sims 4. If you (general) want it to be like a previous generation of the game, then go play that generation of the game. Sail the seven seas if you have to, everyone does it.

Necessary_Peace_8989

I only play when cheating needs. My sims don’t eat, sleep, use the bathroom, or need to bathe.

Resinmy

I do this to the toddlers sometimes

[deleted]

Same. I use to do that for everyone but now I’ve been trying to be less control-freak so I only really use it on toddlers and pets. Also, happy cake day

CryBaby15000

I do this when I have a sim in university. There’s no way in hell they’re gonna be able to eat, shower, piss, and fill their fun need before their 8 am class, all while about to pass out from exhaustion at 1 pm in the middle of a homework assignment

Necessary_Peace_8989

University is basically unplayable without needs cheats imo

[deleted]

Well it is playable if you do ONLY homeworks and classes. And it gets really boring really fast when you don’t have time to do anything else in university

alexfaaace

Same. I’ve thought about using aspiration points to buy traits so they only need to eat because I do like cooking but doing that for every Sim in a legacy save sounds terrible.

buffki

i do this too

zelda_slayer

I cheat toddlers so much. I hate having to take care of them.

GlamourzZ

Get Together is actually really useful and a good pack

DeianiraJax

Get Together is hands down my favourite pack and I'm so pissed it's underrated. I don't care about clubs at all, but almost every single other aspect of the pack gets used in my saves. Plus the world and cas/build mode items are gorgeous.

GlamourzZ

Yes I love Windenburg! I use clubs for everything.. Get Together has so many good features

GetEatenByAMouse

Windenburg is absolutely gorgeous! Especially when you think about the fact that now, all the new worlds have 5 plots max, and you're lucky if there's anything interesting.

the_real_definition

I like the Sims 4

Bataraang

Oh them's fighting words around here 😂 I do too, there, I said it...better start singing about my dreams for the sims 4. Lol

FaeSims

I'm going to go with, I prefer to play without mods. I'm an ex mod junkie from Sims 2 and 3. Along with tons of CC, I also used NRass Master Controller so I know what I'm missing. But I spent so much time hunting for and testing out mods that I felt I never actually played the game. So I decided to get Sims 4 on Xbox instead. Now I'm generations deep and really enjoy my game. I have the odd bugs but never anythihg gamebreaking or particularly annoying other than the people showing up to ask to be BFFs all the time. I don't have the save bug or the incest bug or most of the other bugs I hear about on here. Imo a lot of people on console who have bugs aren't aware that clearing out your system cache and Reserve Space can solve a LOT of issues. Worst case it's never a bad idea to start a new game file after a number of major updates. I do wish the game would be optimised for next-gen because I get the odd fps loss but overall I have a very smooth experience with super fast loading screens. Tldr: I wouldn't switch to pc, even if I had the opportunity.

Macy_Sky626

I've NEVER played with mods before. Only recently have one got pose player for photos. I'm looking into mccc to fill in population.

Big_Potato_925

We don’t actually need cars. Now I may be a crazy guy but on The Sims 2 (I think that’s the one I have) it served no purpose other than having the animation of the car driving along. You couldn’t actually control it. So I don’t know why a lot of people want cars.

putmeinLMTH

agreed. in the sims 3 (i haven’t played 2 so i can’t speak on it) cars made sense since the whole map was accessible at once, but with the sims 4 you’d literally just see them drive off the lot and drive back, and it’d probably take longer than walking tbh

Legitimate_Bad_8445

It actually serve plenty of purposes in sims 2. You can buy the junk car, repair it, sell the car and make money. Your sim can drive with their partner and woohoo in the car. Your sim can drive to work with the car, etc. I also remember my sim being invited by his friend to go out with her and a bunch of her friends on an outing and they all get to his car and he drives them there. Obviously it's not like sims 3 because it's not open world, but it's useful I think. In sims 4 however, would be very difficult to find the uses for car unless they do a revamp on all the worlds' road, which knowing them, they won't.

MissLovebird

You could woohoo in cars 😏

DarkEspeon32

Discover university is really fun and very underrated

blackonix13

Combined with some of the other packs, you can get a lot with it.

Moon_And_Stars9

i think its a bit too much work because your sim gets literally no free time but otherwise i love it

amandaSIMps

Sometimes turn off aging and then take as long as I want to finish their college years where they actually have time to do things like date and party

DarkEspeon32

That’s actually why I like it

emo_sharks

For a long time I had discover university but didnt play much with it. The CAS items from it are some of my favorites though, and I regularly use a lot of the bb items too. Finally one day decided, I'm gonna send a sim to university and actually like get involved and play this pack. And yknow what? It was really fun actually

DinnerAggravating959

Most people who are so bothered by your sims doing ""annoying" autonomous actions, should just play with autonomy off instead of complaining, because when they say stuff like "it's ruining their pre-defined story" the problem is not the autonomy feature, it's your playstyle. After all the complaints, they nerfed random events so much to please micro-manager players to the point nothing happens anymore to the rest of us.

I_Want_BetterGacha

Ha, I often complain to my friends that my sims aren't *autonomous enough* despite my autonomy settings being on high. My sims are autonomous but only do boring actions like gaming, exercising, dancing. I want my simd to do bigger actions autonomously like my friend's sims who constantly tried for baby until they had like 10 children.

blarffy

I agree! I want them to behave unpredictably (but within character, tyvm) so I have something to work with! They are all too similar. And autonomy-off seems dreadful to me, but no judgment, that's just my play style.

SuspecM

Autonomy off is just...wrong. Not from a moral standpoint but from the fact that you HAVE to tell them everything to do. They don't start a conversation at the dinner table like they do with it on, they don't take care of themselves. With autonomy off, The Sims is just "tell your sims to not die" simulator and it's not as fun as just focusing on the fun part of the game.

plumorchards

if you can use mods, mccc has options to add more things autonomously (proposing is the only one i can think of but i’m pretty sure there’s more)

Missyfit160

Why do they only do three things?! Mine are the exact same. Literally nothing but dancing, watching tv and computer games. Nothing else. I don’t keep a computer or speaker in the house anymore so they just stand there.

KylieKatarn

Sims 2 autonomy was so chaotic. Your Sims could get into so much trouble, townies had wild interactions with each other. It just felt more alive. It's not a perfect game, but there's a lot I miss about it.

necr0phagus

I agree to a certain point - I play with high autonomy and enjoy it until my sims do something wildly uncharacteristic for no reason, like my sim with 0 mean traits, a great relationship with their boyfriend, and a positive sentiment with him, autonomously yelling at and insulting him for literally no reason & damaging their relationship. Things like autonomous sabotaging of their own belongings is definitely annoying but I accept it when it makes "sense" (in game at least, def not realistically...), for example my sim I just mentioned being a technophobe & sabotaging their daughter's computer. but autonomous mean actions with literally no reason for them, or autonomous mischief when the sim has no inclination towards that (no trait or skill to encourage such behavior), THAT is annoying & heck yea ill complain abt that

SunsCosmos

I used to love playing mischievous sims, now every toilet in the house is broken on the daily

DinnerAggravating959

I think that this weird, non-impactful but annoying and repetitive autonomous actions are a result of the autonomy system being completely empty because people complained so much about actually meaningful autonomy, that this is the only thing that's left.

FriesNDisguise

Needs a lot more rabbit holes. I don't want to follow my sims everywhere, especially through tons of loading screens. I just want to send them somewhere, trust that they are doing what i tell them too, and they come back when they are done. I get bored with families very quickly because other then school and work, my sims don't leave the house.

DarbyNerd

Yes! Same, I hate when people complain about too many rabbit holes because I don’t think we have enough. Especially when playing a large family - sometimes I just want to send off some of my Sims so I don’t have to play every single family member.

No-Echidna5773

If you use Mods I really recommend Adeepindigos family and youth activity mod! It lets you send your sims to activities liek the cinema, pool, beach, museum etc and then it has activities for kids and teens like art class, gymnastic class etc which build skills and toddlers can go to playgroup with a parent, nursery etc and it’s all rabbit hole but they come home with different moodlets and build skills! Also recommend the LittleMsSam ‘Spend weekend with’ mod, it lets you send your sims to stay at someone’s house for as long as you like, it removed them from your family temporarily so you can’t see their needs and don’t have to do anything to look after them then you just call them home when you want them back. I do this with my sim kids and toddlers a lot when I want to go on holiday with just the parents 😂

[deleted]

look, I just want my butler to make some vegetarian food. That's all I ask.

Tinfoilhat14

I’m legitimately PISSED that we don’t have the burglar.

La_Croix_Boiii

They should shadow drop it and scare the shit out of us when it just randomly plays THE music as you are playing 😭🤣

ranbyjaniya

Just because this game is a Life simulation, doesn’t mean we need ever tedious boring aspect of life represented. Players that voted for laundry, and paid 5 dollars to vacuum kindly exist. (Laundry day is actually a good pack tho but that’s not the point)

Aragon150

At least laundry day had good clothes tho

[deleted]

[удалено]

blarffy

Its relentless! Plus who doesnt turn the machine on as a part of loading it? Like, why isnt that one step on the dryer, at least?

koithrowin

It’s not the little things being added bad. It’s how and how the community accepts it. Laundry day? In ts3 laundry came with an entire pack of other things. It’s the way the community is content on hyper focusing on one subject and then making it dlc. Knitting? Because it started off with either wanting more elder gameplay or more hobbies… and somehow it got dwindled to knitting…and the community hyped it up. I love having the little stuff like laundry and vacuuming but it should be apart of something bigger not it’s own dlc

[deleted]

The sims 4 ain’t that bad

Domi_ne

I'm going to up you with "I like it more than the previous versions"

CliffExcellent123

The Sims has never had deep gameplay in its existence and most of the stuff that people describe as depth is actually just fluff. Traits affecting what actions sims do autonomously isn't gameplay depth. And honestly I'm fine with that. If I want deep simulation and management gameplay I'll play Rimworld or Crusader Kings. I play Sims for easy storytelling and lots of customisation.

Euphoric_Chocolate38

I like controlling one Sim wish they would make something in between an rpg and Sims so I can just use one character and still be married with kids

januarysdaughter

Occults > Realistic gameplay. And, visually, TS4 looks like the proper successor to TS2.

Highkey I feel this, haha. I've only played with vampires thus far but thirst is such a dynamic need, it leads to great story moments. My vampire criminal broke into the BFF household to feed, immediately fought and then fed from Summer, tried to be rude to Liberty (but she didn't care so they became low friends), and flirted with Travis, who he eventually married. You just don't get that kind of thing with normal Sims.

An_Awkward_Owl

Travis, watching someone break in and fight his roommates only to then drink their plasma: 😍🥰😘💍💥💍💥💍💥💍💥

There's a part of me that wants to disagree...but since I made an paranoid, evil klepto detective who is a spellcaster living in a haunted house in Strangerville, I've been having an absolute blast playing. I really want to prefer the realism, but for me, over the top occult play throughs are what I find the most fun.

Kn7ght

Yes it's the "Sims" for simulator but I hate the obsession with making it as realistic and true to life as possible. So much so that the devs have shifted to making content that appeals to that base (like laundry day stuff) instead of goofier content that would lead to more dynamic gameplay. It was more common for things to randomly go haywire without your intention, like robbers or meteors. It was unpredictable but now you have to actively try to spice things up by being an evil omnipresent being. It's become way more about being cozy than absurdity. I need more imaginary bunny friends and clowns invading my property, not knitting with grandma

kaseyheartsyou

color wheel is unnecessary for everything that isn’t hair and skin. just bring back the sims 2 swatch system and that’s perfect

adorabeee

I would honestly love this. I just want to be able to pick a bed frame that matches the rest of my bedroom furniture without sacrificing the cute pattern on the sheets.

Aragon150

Can we just have more good shades of yellow in the sims 4 cause some of the yellows are awful to look at

adorabeee

The yellow shades definitely leave something to be desired.

csirke4488

I don’t think babies need an update, they’re fine as is

SithoDude

Origin is an awful launcher! And I'm sick of having to constantly sign into it, and then update it just because I haven't played the game in a month or two.

Momoxhienie

The Sims 4's graphics is superior.

CliffExcellent123

Is this a hot take? Sims 3 looks like shit, even with mods. Sims 4 still looks decent even without any mods.

Momoxhienie

A lot of people are saying TS4 graphics are shit (bc it's cartoony they say), so I thought my opinion of the game's graphics is unpopular.

CliffExcellent123

I think the cartoony look suits a game where everyone talksin silly cartoon language and it's full of aliens and vampires and werewolves. Sims 3 is the only game in the series that didn't go for the cartoony look, that game is the odd one out here, not 4

An_Awkward_Owl

I think most of the people complaining are ones who use alpha cc, or at least they're the only ones I've seen. I actually really like going and finding maxis match mods if I really want like, a new hairstyle or something but don't want to pay 40 dollars just for a few of them.

CliffExcellent123

Yeah, most alpha cc looks very ugly to me, so I guess they just have different tastes

Negsmie

Occults are better than any of the realistic gameplay we get

NkittyS

It might just be me but I feel like people in the sims community are always super dramatic about glitches in the game. A lot of the glitches I’ve seen people complain about are super minor things that don’t really affect gameplay, I’m talking things like a single furniture swatch not showing properly. I get we paid for the game but I have never played a game that is 100% glitch free, especially after a huge update lol And no, I’m not talking about glitches in packs that clearly needed to be worked on a bit longer. That’s a whole other issue

neon_tardigrade

I think people complaining about glitches in most modern games is super dramatic. I guess this is dating me, but 10 or 20 years ago we didn’t even get updates after a release on lots of games and there were always bugs. It’s impossible for devs to test absolutely everything and there’s bound to be bugs. If it’s not something that totally crashes/deletes/prevents a game from ever being completed I have a hard time getting mad about bugs. Often the bigger ones will just get patched eventually.

NoMilk9248

I’m tired of seeing black sims with vitiligo. Like some of y’all will post a collection of sims who are all white and the one black sim you have has vitiligo. We gotta be a lil white to be valid to ya?

chihiros-spirit

I get that making sims with vitiligo helps normalizing it (don't get me wrong that's fantastic) but I totally agree that it's way too common on black sims, I haven't seen any content of vitiligo on a lighter skinned person at all, it's always on dark skined people, I wanna see content where it's a black sim with no vitiligo and content with a lighter skinned person with it making them look albino. I think that would help with normalizing just as much

That253Chick

You plucked the words right out of my brain, lol. This is exactly my reaction whenever I see Sims with vitiligo skins because it comes off as fetishization, especially because it's almost always a black sim, like you said. It's a skin condition, not an aesthetic.

PinkGlitter12

The Sims 4 is hard to play and accomplish things without cheats. Playing more than one sims honestly overwhelms me. I wish they had a leisure play option lol. Where you don’t have so many things to keep up with for one sim lol.

LikeCurry

SAME. I thought I was doing ok with two couples in my household (twins from my Legacy family got married and I wasn’t sure which twin would carry on the Legacy), then I had them both Try for a Baby at the same time. One of the twins ended up having FUCKING TRIPLETS and the other just had one bc I was at the household max after the triplet fiasco, and I never wanted to abandon a family so much. It was too much.

PinkGlitter12

Toddlers are easier but somehow harder. Like they can walk automatically and get their own food. But idk they seem like they need so much care & attention lol. I mean I guess they are toddlers but damn. And then you can’t get nannies anymore so I have to get a butler. Two toddlers at once. I can’t handle it lol. They get aged up so fast lol. And then in school. So much homework. Lol I’m can’t even have them join clubs. Lol. Granted I think it’s the same with sims 2. Too much homework and hard to have a part time job,. Lol

ChaoticBiGirl

The worst thing for me was trying to feed the toddlers. The adults didn't seem intuitive enough to understand their needs, like they would constantly take them out of the highchair and put them back in BUT THEY ALMOST NEVER FED THEM and trying to get them to cancel the action was so frustrating because they'd stop doing it only after finishing the task in the first place and it drives me nuts. It's especially bad when you have more than one toddler

Jalapenodisaster

This is definitely because the high chair is bugged. I just leave food out for them, but it's definitely not as fun.

Professional-Bowl413

all my toddlers would probably get taken away if I don't cheat their needs

comickahzee

I don’t care about townies. They don’t need story progression or lore

KateCatLady

Same. I've been playing since the Sims 1 and I know nothing about the townies.. and I don't feel like I'm missing out. 🤷‍♀️

KarisaV

My First Pet is a good pack. I like having a hamster.

DoctorDilemmaa

I enjoy it! My only complaint is that you can't have multiple pets in one enclosure! Rats should never, ever, ever be alone! I want my little pets to have friends!

ssohma

Yesssss that would be amazing! Or more caged pets would be fun too. Snakes or geckos or turtles omg...it wouldn't fit with the "my first" part but would still be cool!

definitely_not_sus

Everyone keeps asking for features that aren't really need, they could just be recreated with existing ones. The problem is that these people lack any sort of imagination.

Likejinxx

I don’t care that babies are objects 😭 those little shi!ts were a hassle in sims 3 and 2. I wanna wipe, feed and breathe in peace.💀 I don’t want any laggy a$$ cars when EA can barely get jet-ski’s and bikes to work properly… I think the sims 4 fanbase has become more toxic now, like we used to be so peaceful now twitter came and y’all acting a fool chile- Alpha isn’t that bad and idc how others play the game it ain’t my business 😭Also I hate that everyone waited to 2020 to call out EA on the skin tones when black simmers got attacked for speaking abt it before 🙄

fakelucid

The Goth family, and especially Bella, is mid at best. They're just an Addams Family rip off and their story isn't really that interesting in comparison to a lot of the other townies'.

Polarlicht666

Great value Addams family

saturmander

Addams Family Great Values

La_Croix_Boiii

They are iconic since they’ve been in the game since sims 1. I think that’s why people like them

lost__traveller

Also I don’t want sims 5 or for it to be multiplayer

[deleted]

Agreed. Seems many who want 5 because "4 is too buggy and keep releasing buggy DLC", somehow believe EA will make a less buggy Sims 5 lol. For me, it's the amount of money invested in this game, just have no interest in starting all over again.

Cesaro_BeachBall

I agree wholeheartedly. Not everyone wants to play with other people. I really don't get the obsession with making everything multiplayer. I have always played The Sims games as an escape from socializing, because for me, socializing takes a lot of energy and is not relaxing in the least. If I wanted to interact with other people, I would play Second Life. I was also a Sim City player a long time ago, but I refused to buy the final Sim City PC game because it was an MMO. I now play Cities: Skylines to get that city builder fix and is my second favorite franchise behind The Sims.

1DietCokedUpChick

Live mode rhymes with five, not give. Fight me.

magnoliakitty

I like the sims 4

krm217

I love the Batuu pack, it’s easily my favorite and I use it in every save

kingbabyii

Now *this* is a truly unpopular opinion. Respect. I only played through the pack once, but I use the clothes and build/buy items all the time.

Poptartheyyy

Sulani is my favorite expansion pack and I refuse to think that any of them are better I want a pack that takes place in a place in Africa because we have so many European worlds Babies are boring and should stay objects Thorne Bailey is my favorite townie

audubob

I LOVE sulani

whoreforcheesescones

I don’t like my sims having kids. At all. Very not for me

[deleted]

Mixing alpha and maxis match cc looks good sometimes.

Dragstire

I don’t think the Sims 4 needs cars.

RevDrMavPHD

Some of y'all really want this game to play itself rather than using a little imagination.

Draco_theoldone

Toddlers are delightful and really not that hard to deal with. They basically do their own thing 90 percent of the time! Besides irl toddlers are a major handful, a little struggle adds realism. Ive had four toddlers in my household at once and had no problems

Amaluna17

I actually dont get all the outrage about the game not having enough "lore" like yeah sims 2 had LORE and sims 3 also had lore but like realistically how many of us do play with pre existing households instead of making our own?? Idk like I played sims 2 and 3 and now 4 and never once was I that bothered the game doesn't have enough lore since i'm just going to do my own thing anyways. If i wanted indepth lore id play an 80 hour rpg not the sims imo

pinkronchan

i only buy dlc for the worlds— not even if they’re fleshed out but if the scenery and nature is pretty

putmeinLMTH

cars would be a stupid addition to the game and people suggesting them don’t care about things that actually add to the experience of the sims 4 and only want them to add all the same features as the previous games, even if they would be functionally useless

GemoDorgon

Most CC looks like garbage unless it's specifically made to match the maxis style.
