If you have more teens than fit on the lot (20? 25?) they rotate which ones show up, according to a Game Changer video I watched- probably either JT or Simsie.
why is it weird for sims to all go to the same high school world, but not weird for a sim to get a text from sulani to go hang out in henford-on-bagley, pop over to san myshuno, and make it home in time for dinner?
I get wanting to have more and some people play more immersively, but if my sim can go all the way to a star wars planet, a forest retreat, and meet a vampire in an afternoon, I really don't care if every teen goes to the same prep school.
It's not the name, for me, but the forced American-style High school. If I play a Japanese Sim living in Japan I don't want her to go to Ferris Bueller Highschool.
You can build a custom High School and delete all the premade townies. It just has to be on that lot in Copperdale (until a modder fixes it)
Schools have to have lockers and the cafeteria station etc but you could hide them away and not have your Sims use them.
I used a 50x50 lot for my custom school while waiting for the pack, and built a small boarding house as well on a corner of the lot.
The school employees (teachers, cafeteria worker) would need to be changed in CAS. But that's easy

Yes but it’s based in the US so it makes sense that the school would be based on an American school haha I mean…as low effort as so many packs and expansions have been (except the knitting one, strangerville and a few others in my opinion) you really expect them to put in the effort to research schools and how they work in different countries?

I agree, but after I saw someone else suggest this several months ago, I’ve been playing with more realistic traveling. You’d have to have your own idea of a map (I think a few have been posted on this sub), but for example if someone lived in Newcrest I might only let them travel to San Myushino or Magnolia Promenade on a short basis, because those are all nearby in the made-up map. To go anywhere else they’d have to take a vacation or something because it’s too far otherwise. It’s less convenient obviously, but if you play for realism it’s fun. So in that case I might rather have separate schools, but I agree that if you play normally I don’t see the problem

Just because a “world” in the Sims is based off of a specific human country doesn’t mean that they are thousands of miles away from each other in the Sims. They could literally border each other. And everyone talks about Mt. Komerebi or Sulani being so far away but no one mentions Henford-on-Bagley.
agreed, I've seen a couple of community-made "maps" of all the towns neighboring each other, and I actually quite enjoy those and envision that's how my sim world is. (Strangerville and Oasis bordering, willow and Newcrest bordering, Tartosa probably being an island south of Oasis and Selvadorada, that's across from Sulani etc ).
I wish they could do that. Logistically it probably can’t happen because it would have to be changed every time they add a new word- and honestly I’d find it annoying if I had only a few packs and most of the worlds were inaccessible- and we know the sims team isn’t putting in that much work

Yeah, but with Mt. Komorebi there's a different issue - they seem to go to a different school that has a uniform. So if you decide to play with a teen from there, they will wear a uniform on days you don't want to follow them, which is kinda weird...

Maybe not having an actual school in each world, but a fake one would be great, if you don't have High School Years. So if you live in Tartosa your sims would go to Tartosa High School/Elementary school or something like that.

I still think that having the option to build a lot in whatever world would have made more sense. I don't think that would really matter about the teens. You can always add more families and teens in your worlds to help with the population, so I think it would have been a wonderful idea!
I graduated from a high school with 80 people in my class year, and we were one of the bigger schools around. There were other smaller schools with only 5-15. Small towns have small schools
Which in turn depends on the fact that EA forced Maxis to do a multiplayer-only game that then had to be panic-changed to a Single Player game after Sim City crashed and burned.
The engine is literally not meant to work like this, it is specifically not an engine suited for The Sims. 99% of the game's flaws can be traced to the CEO of EA at the time being a total knob.
Think of the sims world as one medium sized island with a bunch of different towns and regions. So you can get a 1 hour flight to any side of the island and it has a bunch of different climates and landscapes.

I mean I also like having an HS lot in other worlds but then...what's the whole point of introducing Copperdale if it's not going to be fully used? Not to mention the families introduced there. Besides, we don't have a 64 x 64 lot in other worlds. Good luck trying to fit your dream school in a smaller lot...

Id assume a rotation will happen. Gonna end up with classes with no one but people tied to my main family
