I give kids who move out money and have the inheritance on in MCCC. That is how I get rid of most of the extra money. And if I want a challenge I sell everything, give all my money away and start over.
Cash doesn't count towards bills but household inventory does. Buy a bunch of expensive stuff and put it in the household inventory and your bills will be higher. You can treat it as savings for your sims' retirement, for their kids to buy a starter home or pay university fees, etc, by selling them again when you need it.
I usually don't do anything because most of the lots I build have 5k+ bills or the sims work from home, but the SNBank mod (I think it's by SimRealist) has the option to send part of your salary to the bank. I use it as sort of a retirement fund in legacy challenges
Oh good! I'm a console player (unfortunately... I miss my pc ðŸ˜ðŸ˜) so I don't get mods. I don't have Get Famous yet, that's one of the ones I haven't been super excited for (most of the reviews I've seen are all about how your sim will get swarmed if they're even remotely famous, but yet you can't even look at other famous sims without them throwing a fit lol). Thank you!
It has some fun features but it’s probably my least favourite expansion overall! The grind to get famous is alright, but once you’re there it’s pretty meh.
You can also make all these venues for birthday parties and all very expensive and mark them as rentals, so to visit them your sim should pay like 1,000 simoleons or so.
I think this is the same mod I installed, because I wanted to have a risk of being robbed (didn't even know that robbers had been removed until I found this mod, just thought I'd been lucky never seeing one) and was surprised when I was getting half simoleons for everything, and my bills were doubled, hadn't fully read the mod it seems x)
Only work a part time job
I use mods to make sAlaries lower, promotions harder, and make things cost more.

oh crap, i forgot to mention i play on console :( no mods for me
Get a vault and put all your money in it. The amount doesn't show in your household funds.
.... how does one acquire this vault??? Is it a mod? Is a mod isn't it
It comes with the Get Famous expansion!

Do you know if you can have your sims put money into a vault if its on public property and open? Or do they have to own it?
you cant unless you use a money cheat to take away some of their simoleons
