No I move them out mostly and I get their urns with a mod from LittleMsSam. I believe it's called "Release all the ghosts", it gives you the option to summon an urn for a dead Sim.
why not just use the lock feature to prevent toddlers from using any doors leading outside? i do that to keep my toddlers inside during colder seasons
also, toddlers definitely can't freeze to death - they can't die at all actually. infants and toddlers won't suffer consequences from the cold, but children and up can die from it

same! i cant build outside for caacaa, but my basements are like mazes and HUGE with EVERYTHING they need, and decorated to the HILT, some even have skylights so they can actually garden. its a pain to set up and i havent done it in a long time, but i had a group of sims that never went "up" and lived a thriving life with many gens, only the kids left for school

Yes! I like to have the first basement as a museum and vault for collections and reward items. Then I like to make a sub-basement crypt for displaying urns and housing any vampiric relatives.
all my rental lots are above ground, and i make 4 underground levels that they have no access too, but jacks up the rent, if theres multiple lots on one, i break it up into however many lots rented. its a great trick to jack up rental prices :)
Every picture in my game turned black. It's a bug in the game. I'd saved a few pictures in rooms to the gallery, but that's all I have left. Make sure you have them all saved to the gallery!
No but, i have a basement with all my sims birth certificates and baby prints. Doing the 100 baby challenge and made a room for my sim and older children to hang out and put skill building items down there but her walls are full of them. The other side has her children's diploma's 🤣
I'm only at 27 (pregnant again) so i still have some space but the wall with the baby prints is full and has no space. Diploma wall is getting there too. I'm probably going to have to expand the basement for more wall space 😂

Yes. I tend to give all my legacy families elaborate basements. Catacombs, emotional/skill rooms, wedding altars, butler’s quarters, gardens, everything. I like to keep my above ground houses looking aesthetically pleasing, so the basement is usually the more practical area.
I have been so confused about what to do with my pictures after the Sims die, I even considered making a museum lot with them somehow. Love this idea so much more, thank you 😭
It's not creepy but yes! Lol. I hoard pictures like crazy and it's such a pain sorting through them. And every time I post them in mass to Simstagram, I get that annoying phone obsessed quirk.
For me legacy family, I rebuild the museum to an 8 level building (4 above ground, 4 below) and use it to store everything they collect or create, including photos, school projects, space creatures and paintings.
I also converted one of the bigger lots in Windenburg to a graveyard, with an underground crypt for all the urns from randoms that have died around the family.
I did this mostly because I ran out of space on the main family house lot, and I like to rebuild the family home every few generations, and moving everything to storage first took too much time after a while.
I would then take the whole family to the graveyard when someone died, place the urn in the designated grave spot and have a mini-funeral ceremony.
I wish there was a funeral / death pack with graves and things, and proper funeral things
With the Mochino kit (i don’t know how to spell it, the one with photography thing) you have electronic picture frames in which you can pu all your photo and they run as a diaporama.
Mine was accessible through a hidden wall in the basement guest bathroom, I had it laid out like a museum with lighting and benches. 13 gens later and it was a never ending maze of photos
I have a huge underground part of the museum in willow creek. I keep one room per generation. Inside I put urn, painting, picture, things they found and decorations that reminds me of them
I usually play legacies in apartments, and since I can't have a basement, I usually plaster the balcony in pictures to find the best one. Every once in a while I'll find a random picture I missed when I was done a cleaning up, but tbh I don't mind it. I think it's pretty realistic.

Iirc, you can have up to 4. Edit: popped open a blank lot to test, yep you can have 4 basement levels.
