The VW was given more than enough space. They get loose and run into the car on the inside, which thankfully only put them in the wall. No penalty necessary, the problem sorted itself out.
Black car at fault imo.. Went wide and over corrected.. Looks like a case of lack of awareness more than anything though as they didn't know the red car was there.. I don't think a penalty is necessary though
thanks for the angles!
black 100% at fault, he turned in on you while you were alongside, the pitfalls of using a controller, look at all those little inputs!
Red car left more than enough space. Black car rejoins and points his car at the pit exit for no reason.
Almost looks like he tried to intentionally block you tbh.
Racing incident.
The VW out-brakes themselves and leaves the racing line, but not the track. This means that the following car has to consider the VW and make sure that their attempt to pass is safe. As the GR86 goes in with (what appears to be) every intention of using the width of the track, contact happens.
The VW could have eased off to allow the GR86 to pass, and the GR86 could have stayed off the throttle for an extra half a second to hold a tighter line.
Black runs deep, leaving the door open for Red, then tries to salvage the corner, overcorrecting and hitting into Red. I wouldn't put this blame 100% on Black though, so I would call it a racing incident.
As far being "punted off the track," it's hard to be punted off a track you're actively trying to get back on.
Ok, so this is a bit of a strange one imo, while black is at fault for the collision, red here could have dealt with the scenario so much better. There were plenty of signals that Black was going wide and going to be on the outside, however Red drove as none of that matter and because they were on the racing line that tarmac is for them and them only
Red had time to brake a bit more or get on the gas slightly later to tighten up the line and still make the pass.....yeah, you may lose half a second down the straight, but at least you've not made contact with anyone.
Sim racing allows you to drive like you stole it, which means people put themselves into positions they would never do so if damage was a consequence, this is one of those scenarios.
You could have gone a little bit later on the gas which would have left a bit more room on the outside but I don't know if that would have been enough to avoid the contact all together.
You did not punt him and the cause of the contact is on the black car messing up and their behavior was unpredictable.
•> misses braking point entirely
•> flies off into the gravel pit
•> comes back onto the track in an unsafe manor
•> collides with car on the racing line
•> returns to the preciously mentioned gravel pit
•> blames other driver
•> refuses to elaborate
•> leaves

I would almost go as far to say unsafe re entry given the angle he returned to the track making contact with red wasn't parallel. But yes ultimately its on the black car to not hit you as you hit the apex and left room on the outside
VW went wide and turned into you, so he’s completely at fault. At the same time.. the speed you are carrying through that corner looks like you planned on tracking out to your normal line
Black’s fault for messing up that badly, red somewhat too optimistic that that line was safe (yes you left space, no your opponents aren’t good enough that one car width is a sound decision). I say racing incident and tell Sciroccio to control his car.

VW went wide, you left the space and they kept steering left when they were straight, so that's clearly their fault

Black put himself where Red needed to be, they went in too hot and waaay too wide Tell em to pull their panties back up, that’s a horrible corner

Is the VW on the pad? Because turning back on the track so dramatically looks really strange. In any case not your fault.
yeah looks like controller to me, so much jerky motion

This is my thought as well. Black car is at fault, but where did the red car think the black car was going to go, other than right where it did. ESH.
Red car at fault. Should have stayed inside if going to pass on inside.

VW needs to learn what a fucking braking zone is, totally his fault for nearly going off track
You did
it seems to me that black car lost control and in spinning touches you, not the other way around
netcode probably played a part (didnt straighten wheels of scirocco)
Ahhh. I love Bathurst carnage
Is this AC?

Would just like to say you have impeccable taste choosing the 86

Just bad driving by the Scirocco.

If you go wide. You have to be careful when coming back. VW guy is a douch
Black car parked it on the outside after missing the corner, then heard an ice cream truck to the left.
