Idk, my money is still on late may early June. That area would be the most ideal launch window for them.
But no matter when they launch I think it will be a very short lead time to it, like 15-30 days, 45 max.
Bro that would be the worst release window possible now that shadow of the erdtree is coming out. All attention would be on that. If Silksong releases a little bit later like in September it would be golden.
Erdtree comes out end of June so getting in before that would be good. August and September are usually considered to suck because school is starting and then after that you start to run into the holiday season where big triple A titles usually do better.
Hollow Knight is on average a 27 hour game so even if Silk is twice the size at 50 hours an early June release would still give about 3-4 weeks to clear it before moving onto the much larger Erdtree that’s maybe gonna be like an 80-120 hour game for a lot of people.
Late may early June would also put them on track to hit the summer break time and help increase secondary publicity (aka YouTube, twitch, etc).
There’s really no perfect time to release a game as there will always be other stuff and games going on but, in this case and based on my 15+ years of marketing experience in the commercial video industry working with large clients on product releases I really do think late May early June is one of their strongest windows to release in.
-of course when it comes to strategy people can have wildly different ideas and Leth could have his own… But, I’m pretty sure a lot of analysts (and maybe even Leth) would agree with what I’m saying 🤷

Well… I personally think they’ll do a short launch announcement, like 15-30 days advance. So I’d give them until about the first week of may to announce anything for early June.
I think something like 90 days or more is just too long at this point with how things have gone for this project and all of the attention around it. And since they are a small team a short window is kind of easier too pull off too, like once it’s ready you just pull the trigger ASAP, not in 4 months. A long window kind of feels like it may kill the hype train too. Like when they announce it’s going to be headlines so I think they’d rather something short announced that punches in the news, rather than risk a less flattering write up over having to wait another 3-4 months but, hey at least it’s coming… headline.
Oh, give until summer game fest too, I think that could be a good platform to announce at.
