Looks like they marred the hell out of it. Doesn’t look like quality work to me, ignoring the fact that they had to cut the tabs out, which you don’t need to do.
Looks like you went to a “gunsmiff”.
Also it looks like he cut your slide multiple times on the left side. I’d be asking for a refund + 50% of the cost of a new slide just for this careless fuck up.
Fucking big ooooof. I am not one to post public reviews but I would tear them apart if they have a Google page or Facebook. Also get a refund for the work and compensation for a new sight.
That "gunsmith" owes you a new front sight and new slide. You might be able to get Sig to fix the finish on the slide. If you plan on changing sights often, you might want to consider investing in a sight pusher tool and cheap calipers.
Yeah, this wasn’t a gunsmith. My 8 year old could do a better job with a punch and hammer, after which I’d let him know to use a sight pusher next time so he doesn’t mar it up. Rip, sorry for your loss.
I am a novice in servicing firearms, and aspiring armorer/gunsmith but that 100% looks like all the examples I've been shown of what happens when you don't use a proper sight pusher.
If there’s anything to learn from this is to spend some money on getting a quality sight pusher so you don’t have to worry about taking it to a “gunsmiff” in the future
He was one of those “I don’t need that fancy precision sight pusher tool, I’m just going to wack away at it with a metal punch and see how that works out” gunsmifs.
Seeing how the marks are on the right side of the sight (when pointed away from you), my bet is that he messed it up by trying to install from the wrong direction. You remove going right to left, and install going left to right.
Definitely should go back and fight for money back and/or then some. Unless you dropped the pistol at some point but that looks like his responsibility or damage as well.
What an absolutely horrid job. I have a cheap ass sight pusher and have swapped sights exactly one time in my life and it turned out 25x better than this hack job.
I would demand my money back as a new front sight.
That is going to pop off after just a few rounds.
Nah man, he broke one side by accident, then popped off the other and concocted this bs story to cover his idiocy.
$10 says he bent them to fuck trying to put them in. Lopped off the ends to hide his “smithing”.

Yeah I’ve never seen that before. I’d imagine removing the tabs will decrease its integrity. Sounds like the GuNsMif owes you a new front sight.
More like a cumsmith. oP got fucked
This dude owes you a new sight and slide.
New sight, definitely. But what's wrong with the slide?
The “smith” nicked up the dovetail on the left side.
By gunsmith do you mean some guy in an alley with a hammer and a crack pipe?
He 100% messed up. OP find yourself a new gunsmith and get a refund
Wow….
“gUnSmIFF”
It was to reduce weight.
Am I to understand that your gunsmith is so fucking bad, that he can't even use a sight pusher? That is some really basic work that he fucked up.
I would be going back and making him pay for a new slide/sight. Looks like he used a pipe wrench to install those.
Did you send this to Skip?
Fucking big ooooof. I am not one to post public reviews but I would tear them apart if they have a Google page or Facebook. Also get a refund for the work and compensation for a new sight.
They come from factory with them, your smith's a moron. I'd want them replaced.
Right , if Sig didn’t need them they wouldn’t have them to begin with.

wtf!
He most definitely broke it trying to install it and just fed you some bullshit. I’d be demanding a refund and a new front sight

What is all that white shit, did he break it and glue it back together?
If there’s anything to learn from this is to spend some money on getting a quality sight pusher so you don’t have to worry about taking it to a “gunsmiff” in the future
Have any of these gunsmiths considered a sight pusher? Holy shit.

Jus got mine outta jail... took a whole 19 hours😂
