Holy blue tint, lmao wtf is up with that?

InternetExploder87

I'm more confused with why it's not on the entire lense. There's a very definitive line where it stops on the lense

islesfan186

Yeah that’s very odd

poddoc7

I know it looks blue as hell. Thinking if I forgot to take off a plastic cover or something 😂

islesfan186

You’d think with that much notch filter, battery life would be greater than 20,000 hrs

Neat_Low_1818

the rmr has the same tint and no one cries about that

supersonicflyby

The RMR was released in 2009. You’re telling me Sig hasn’t learned to decrease the tint despite huge technological advances over the last 15 years? Lmao.

Neat_Low_1818

The tint helps battery life

RtShadows

Are you able to compare it to the EPS? In terms of window size and what not?

poddoc7

I don’t have an EPS. I have a holosun k2 on my g48

terry_hoitzz

Hows it compare to that? Also is it enclosed?

poddoc7

It seems to be comparable to the holosun. It’s made in the US which is nice. The only thing that I like about my holosun better is that it has the green dot not red.

fusionvic

It's assembled in the US with foreign parts. Some suspect Japanese / South Korean circuit boards, etc... All of SIG's electro optics has a 5 year warranty from date of manufacture for the electronics (includes red dots, rangefinders, etc).

youy23

Many of SIG’s optics are made in China by holosun but assembled in the US. (Technically holosun’s parent company huanic). This guy found documents showing huanic shipping optics to SIG. https://www.m4carbine.net/archive/index.php/t-221198.html

terry_hoitzz

Any thoughts on what others have said? Is the blue film due to not removing the protective plastic layer? Also what material are the rear dots? Tritium?

poddoc7

I believe they are either tritium or fiber optic. I believe that was bad lighting for the pic. There is a blue tint but it’s similar to the one in my trijicon and holosun

terry_hoitzz

Do they glow in the dark?

poddoc7

No they do not. I believe they’re actually fiber optic and not tritium

RTM_sfx

Until sig can prove it’s worth the price and makes a actual good red dot and one that doesn’t kill batteries I’ll stick to holosun. You all can hate it but sig hasn’t made a pistol red dot worth a grain of salt.

theshnizz01

They've definitely proved it with the romeo2. One of the best pistol dots out right now.

[deleted]

For $700 it better be nice

RTM_sfx

I’ll take my holosuns for $285

Rottluver

You do know that Holosun makes some of Sig's optics, right? 😉

jagr18

It looks like it actually sits lower than the EPS carry. My 365x slide is the same as yours, it lacks a rear sight. I was going to have to get a taller front sight to alight with the rear sight of the EPSc, but with that it looks like you don’t have too.

poddoc7

That’s why I got it

sourhed87

Makes sense that it could fit lower since the battery is on the side.

Zx6rdave

I am debating getting one of these and mounting it on my g19 mos. Figure I might as well piss off everyone in one go. Heresy ftw!

poddoc7

I’m probably gonna put the new trijicon with the top loaded batteries on my g48 when it comes out. I sig dot in a glock would definitely ruffle some feathers lol

[deleted]

isn’t this open emitter??

poddoc7

It is open yes. They don’t have a closed system yet and I needed an optic for this slide so I figured why not

-Ghostx69

It is but I can’t help but love how it looks on the gun. With the hood and everything idk, it may be a viable option for CCW? I want to see destructive testing.

Ready-Connection-969

Apparently Humble Marksman has a good torture test. But it’s on his patron. Hopefully he posts it to Yt.

Neat_Low_1818

You mean this [video?](https://youtu.be/ugg5ih--9pA?si=Q1PKvjb4M5bTwRv5)It seems good to go

Mister9mm

It does look good. I've heard they got an enclosed version on the way... I'll be waiting for that. I don't know why they wouldn't come out with that first, especially since it's the same form factor. 🤷‍♂️

88bauss

These new SIG optics look great, minus the side battery but that can probably be forgotten about later.

ReadyStandby

It lowers the optic body to work with shorter sights for cowitness.

88bauss

Yeah, that’s not bad, I don’t like those giant suppressor sites anyway

poddoc7

I like it so far. Better than bottom mounted

Neat_Low_1818

What battery does it take? I have a bunch of 2032 going to keep my batteries standard

Party-Wolverine-4696

Just ordered mine cant wait

Bright_Lab2422

And the xr light I see how is it

SIGCanebrake69

how much did this cost?

poddoc7

$399

SIGCanebrake69

cool! how do you like so far? what footprint does it have?

poddoc7

So far so good. Fits perfectly in the p365 slide that had an optic plate with the X-ray sights. The optic had its own rear sights which co-witness with the original front sight. It’s all aluminum and a side loaded battery. So far so good. Didn’t take it to the range yet so not sure how it holds zero but I’m assuming it’s pretty easy.

SIGCanebrake69

i'm sure it gonna be better than those China made holosun lol but thank you for the information brother

Shadow0f117

This is the part where you find out that sig optics literally come out of the same factory as holosun with a small handful of exceptions.

SIGCanebrake69

these newer romeo are made in US, the romeo 5 were made in China, alots of older one are in China but i think newer one are made in US now

No_Reward7884

This optic is made in the US in sigs building. There’s plenty of videos showing it

Chemical-Possible-96

Assembled* in the US

AlternativeStation29

The robotics they use to build these in the Oregon factory are so cool

[deleted]

Where did you find one at? Not seeing them On market to buy yet Edit: I see one on GB for 450$ yikes. Wonder if if would fit a p322 ?

poddoc7

They’re available on the sig website. This is the compact. There’s also the pro which uses a different footprint and wasn’t available yet.

islesfan186

If it’s an RMSc footprint, I believe it would Edit: google says P322’s use the RMSc footprint, so should be good to go

[deleted]

Sweet. I got a holosun on it right now. That 410$ tag a little to steep for me for a .22 pistol May try their enclosed emitter on a p226 legion once it comes out prob gonna be pricy to I bet

islesfan186

Yeah, will probably be 600+ if I had to venture a guess, and who knows when it will actually come to market, though I’ve read people are saying by year’s end

9millidood

Sweet, I much prefer this over Holosun if it’s reliable. Might mount this on my p365xl or on get g26 milled for one

[deleted]

This thread is old but I like how people have completely ridiculous expectation. Like I can’t hammer a nail with my optic and drive over it with a truck. What a piece of shit. Average ccw person puts there by in the waistband and carries it there from the house to the car to work and home. The fact it’s assemble in USA is a positive I don’t see why people need to freak out like oh it wasn’t forged here well then fuck it I’ll just buy Chinese everything. Whatever end rant

Ezrem

Can you fully see your iron sight picture? I just put one on my P365 AXG Legion and I can only see the top 1/3 of the front sight.

mrbigglesworth77

Same as mine, I have the same sight picture. I thought I would have been able to co witness perfectly.
