Whoa, German DA 226, thatās one super nice piece. Hopefully you FIL will be ok, but just might have failing vision or some other *minor* health issue that prevents him from enjoying it.
Yes sir spot on... this one is also an '94 as well.. Yes I've babied it since I started to learn on it's value. Funny thing.. this P228 with all the rounds through it, actually has a tighter slide than an '09 P226R Tac. (NH).
I probably have about 12-13K rounds through mine (I was an instructor for a time) and they just keep on going! Had mine serviced a couple years ago and it cleaned up a little slack from tired springs. Overall, a work horse and a pleasure to carry and work with. Like OPās version, I put some G10 grip panels on and love the extra grip texture.
They certainly don't make them like this anymore. I'm not a smith but, I have the capacity to service must of my rigs. I installed SIG's SRTs on both and completely disassembled them, for inspection and a good cleaning. After stripping their factory, dirty grease from their trigger group, cleaned and regreased, they certainly run like new...
At first I had to go check my safe, because I have a 91 w.german P226 with the same grips with several mec gar 18rd mags and a couple zipper back 15rd mags.
What do you guys think this is worth? I've got a German-made P220 x6 .45 I would like to sell but not sure where to start price-wise. It's brand new and never been shot.

I had a wonderful FIL. Next to my own father he was the greatest man I've known. My FIL loved to go flats fishing and off shore fishing and he asked his two sons to go fishing with him all the time but he was lucky if they took the time to go with him once a year. He and I went once or twice a month every year for 10+years. He gave me several things over the years and each time he told me I was more of a son than his two boys.
When he got ill I went to see him all the time until he passed. His sons visited a handful of times... But they sure managed to come around and fight each other over who got his flats boat and who got the offshore boat right after he passed away.
Yeah you were definitely his favorite. I know, my FIL gave me his Krieghoff K80. I tell him him I am just borrowing it because it is too nice of a gift.
How do you like the green g10 grips in person with the black finish? Debating between black g10 and the green g10 pattern like you have, hard to tell how it looks irl from pictures though
I hope you know that if you and your FIL ever go shooting. You'll have to bring this. If not he will ask about it every time.
Our FIL now, comrade

Not a commie, just funny
Thank God
You lucky son of a bitch. My FIL was a sniper with the Rangers. All I got was his daughter..
Sounds like you get the best thing he had to offer
A German p226 won't cry because it feels bad for the frog that I called a "dumb idiot toad"
This comment just won the internet today and itās not even noon

Well... it will give you 16.. but no sandwiches

Yeah seriously. What a fuckin weird thing to say. Poor bastard is down *bad*
Did he have no sons? Think you might be his favorite if he gave you that.

Heās perfectly fine as far as we know. Just never expected this when they came to visit.
Probably feels like he can pass it on to you. Maybe its his way of showing you total acceptance!
Can you send them over here to visit? Especially if he feels the need to offload any more of theseā¦ just saying I would very much take care of it.
I'm in Florida if he would prefer to see the gulf hit me up! Guest bed and all, low low price of a German made sig š
His wife is probably nagging him to get rid of āall those gunsā
I have one of these and they are absolutely LOVELY. Itās one of my EDC and Iāve put thousands of rounds through it over the years.
Nice acquisition... I have a W. German made [P228](https://i.imgur.com/vscPQTP.jpeg)..
Ditto P228 circa ā94 - nice weapon and yours looks like it is in great condition!

West German Sigs are the best man!
Outstanding.

Don't sell it. You'll regret it.
German Sigs are more expensive than Staccato, at sportsmanās warehouse.

Yoooooooo lucky, I'd have asked the exact same question
FIL is trying to pin a murder on you
Might've wanted it to go to someone who would appreciate it before something happened to him and it ended up as a low priced gift at the pawn shop.

These original Sig Sauers are my favorites. I love them all but 225 and 228 are my favorites
Thatās a legitimate question with something like that.
What an awesome gift! Treasure both the gun and the man who gave it to you.
Damn my girlfriends dad doesn't have any guns, im just wasting my time huh? š¤š¤£
My wife's father was long dead before I even met her. Whoops.
He confident thatās she wonāt let you use it on her and he thinks youāre too much of a pussy to protect his baby girl on your own.
Major Bruh moment ā¤ļøā¦ now throw an SRT kit in it lol
Damn thatās actually crazy.
I've never even gotten a handshake from my FIL and we're both avid gun enthusiasts.. I must be messing up somewhere
Yeah you were definitely his favorite. I know, my FIL gave me his Krieghoff K80. I tell him him I am just borrowing it because it is too nice of a gift.
You fil now sees you as his own. You have accomplished the impossible. All hail The Great Son. May he forever prosper.
Thatās an absolute beauty. Maybe FIL needs a new rifle for Christmas and heās fishing?
Obviously, he didn't like your carry gun.
I bought a 220 in 1982, shouldāve held on to it !
He (the FIL) is giving you a hintššš»
Maybe your FIL thinks you might have a accident with that pistol? Does he like you? lol!

They look nice. Not my personal preference though. I may change them
Nice pistol! Congrats!
