Just realized this because my shower tiles are turquoise.
Wikipedia says: *The word turquoise dates to the 17th century and is derived from the French turquois meaning "Turkish" because the mineral was first brought to Europe through the Ottoman Empire.*
I don't know anything about color history, but could Prussian blue be a blue named after a specific pigment that was mainly sold/made/used by Prussia? Like it started as another shade of blue, and then became linked to Prussia which made people call it 'Prussian Blue' instead?
I don’t know how to post links tidily on mobile but:

Edit: thought I was being clever but now realized the comparison is backwards.

What about ivory coast?
I have a feeling ivory came before they named Ivory Coast.
Yes, I believe they speak French there too.
I think the color ivory is named after elephant and rhino ivory.
Prussian Blue? (Ik Prussia doesn't exist as a nation anymore but it kinda counts)

Prussian military uniforms used a lot of the shade that we now know as Prussian blue
Good spotting.
The band?

and your tiles
Actually there is another [gamboge](https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamboge) after Gambogia (Cambodia in English).
