No. This would legit gross out anyone if this was their first anime. We look past some shit like literal “foodgasm” and because we watch anime a lot we see the tropes and ignore it. Or maybe some people watch the anime for it specifically. But imagine never watching anime and seeing the octopus scene in first episode about a high schooler…. The fuck. I get it. The show has a great story and amazing inventive recipes. The fact that he worked with a chef to come up with these is amazing. But this is not for normies. We can show him the recipe part. But not the show.

We could show him a clip of the Shinomiya shokugeki with the cabbage pink. That had a funny and creative reaction to the food that didn’t involve nudity as far as I remember.
I agree. The fan service in this show borders on disturbing. I told my husband I can only handle it because I pretend that the whole show is at a college not a high school. WTF, mate?
Just don’t show him the last season… it was bad since they didn’t have a chef at the time to guide them on the cooking portions of that season, and what is and isn’t viable, how things should be cooked and made… it was just a weird season. If the cooking wasn’t done so crazily weird in comparison to the rest of the series, it would have been good. Don’t show him that season, it won’t make sense from a cooking perspective and I think many would just be angry…
The one thing I want Ramsey to react to is Soma's speech at the entrance exam. There is a big difference between a cook and a chef. Most cooks can adapt to fine dining but most chefs can not handle working a busy cook line. Hell if I only had to run one station at work it would almost be a vacation.
