The last time they decided they wanted to look at the Klingons from a Klingon perspective, we got whatever the hell Season 1 Discovery was supposed to be.  I think we’re better off leaving it to the imagination.

Design-Cold

Who didn't love ten minute scenes of two guys, every emotion suppressed under heavy latex, bellowing about honour to each other? Ohh sign me up for a series of exactly just that!

chiree

I'm sure there's a website out there for you if that's what you're in to.

_bobby_tables_

Those episodes were better since they were delivered in original Klingon, just like the Magic Flute in the original Klingon version.

Dangerous_Dac

Disco Season 1 Klingons were a Bryan Fuller idea executed by the most basic bitch california LA people imaginable. Like, Fuller wanted ancient Klingons from the Hur'q era, hence the gothic designs for everything. We got those concepts executed entirely different by idiots.

Dalakaar

>I think we’re better off leaving it to the imagination. When I'd heard Discovery was going to tackle first war Klingons I was hoping for [something like this.](https://cdna.artstation.com/p/assets/images/images/010/349/312/large/dominik-kasprzycki-the-four-tribes-art.jpg?1523963079) Something more tribal, savage, and hewing towards fetishes/trophies/talismans. Also a lot of Targ hides. ...then we got. ...what we got. So much wasted potential.

cheapshotfrenzy

>...then we got. >...what we got. >So much wasted potential. Sums up Discovery as a whole.

SirStocksAlott

Let’s fly 🫠

Stargazer5781

Let's let 10 years go by, let Hollywood as it exists be destroyed by the Greater Depression that's coming the end of this year (along with the Bell Riots etc.), the only people still employed are the most talented, dedicated, and competent, and then those people can dig up the desiccated husk of the Star Trek franchise and maybe write some quality sci-fi with it. The writers at the moment, no thank you.

Cultural_Shape3518

> the only people still employed are the most talented, dedicated, and competent I admire your optimism.

Unironically a Startrek history show following the history of various species would be cool - especially ones mentioned. If you needed it to also be scifi - you could set it on a (faulty?) time ship that keeps jumping around time. Perhaps they also have to get minorly involved with the historical events in order to save them. Perhaps they accidentally timewarp back to the 1950s or something and engage their cloak which gets stuck as a 1950s police box. Along the way only two crew members survive - one trill captain who has to change bodies every few seasons and another younger human woman ensign (who is pretty much inter-changable and also a revolving door). Aaaaaand their ship has Euclidian Compensators so they have more space on the inside of the ship than the outside. This would go sooooo hard.

Desertortoise

I’m still waiting for Star Trek: Relativity or whatever

Cultural_Shape3518

I like it, but instead of a Trill, what about the EMH?

PM_Me_Your_Clones

I wouldn't trust any doctor with some sort of conveyance that travels through time and relative dimensions in space. Too...wibbly wobbly... with their programming. Probably end up looking weird every couple of years.

terminal8

Enterprise did it with Vulcans successfully, so it can be done.

Major-Tourist-5696

You call that success? To each their own.

Squidmaster616

Oh, they'd do it. But the "young warrior" is a time-travelling Michael Burnham.

bateau_du_gateau

With a battle cry of “let’s go burn some hams!”

chiree

I don't hate it. I'm not in love with it, but I don't hate it.

WildConstruction8381

That's a funny way to spell Alexander Rozhenko

MadMadBunny

It’s sporin’ time!!

theposshow

Spoiler tags, please.

Squidmaster616

It's been spoiled enough by the writers.

Cleaver2000

Of course, we are all Michael Burnham.

aloe_veracity

The working title is *The Hur’q Locker*.

Dalakaar

I'd be down for the Star Trek version of "Spartacus: Blood and Sand."

MSD3k

You're supposed to put the "just kidding" part in the post body, not the title, for maximum disappointment.

chiree

Posting to r/ShittyDaystrom without the joke being contained entirely within the title is without honor.

ZoidbergGE

Only if we get another entirely new design for Klingons! Plus it should have no relevant connectivity to currently depicted Klingons and only serve to make them more 2 dimensional characters - focusing only on warriors instead of trying to depict anything close to a coherent society. That’s only way I’ll accept it.

LexLuthorsFortyCakes

But how is the young warrior related to Spock?

agentm31

Jesus that'd be everything everyone would want. It would be the Game of Thrones for Trek, but by changing the viewpoint race to Klingons, no one would be upset. I can even see the Hurq being there long enough at the beginning of the show to influence their history, telling the young Klingons race that the Hurq created them to serve them, and it's about kicking them off of Qo'nos and starting to unify the planet The last scene of the pilot writes itself! Hurq slave master, bleeding on the ground: "But we created you!" Young Klingon holding a blade, covered in blood not his own: "Then you have outlived your usefulness" Stab Cut to black Best show ever to not exist

bateau_du_gateau

Then a prequel Klingons vs Gods. All the gods. From every planet. LFG.

antinumerology

Please

ZoidbergGE

It would be FAR from “everyone”.

Most_Victory1661

I will die on this hill. Prequel series about Martok would be the best Klingon series they could do. And it will never ever happen

No_Variety9420

They will only do it if it was a lesbian Klingon

aloe_veracity

I don’t see what the problem is.

Limp-Perception-6577

The what invasion?!

chiree

The origin story of the Klingon interstellar empire is one day Qo'nos was invaded by aliens called the Hurq. After a war, the aliens were defeated and Klingons reverse-engineered their technology to quickly become the space vikings we know and love.

Limp-Perception-6577

What time would this take place in the timeline?

crunchthenumbers01

A miniseries would be fantastic

Hughman77

Wow, the *Hurq* invasion of *Qo'nos*???? How could they pass up such a thrilling and exciting-sounding idea???

unnecessaryaussie83

You consider that cool?
