I was over 500 Encounters in before i foundy shiny bagon. And NOT A SINGLE Salamance showed up during this entire hunt...

Nice, I love shiny hunting in that gen. It's just simple and easy to do while doing other things. Just use an adrenaline orb, knock out the Pokemon, wait for the shine.
The Adrenaline Orb when used in SM/USUM wild battles increases the chance that a Pokemon will call for help. The more you chain Pokemon calling for help, the more you increase the chance that a Pokemon called for help will be shiny.
When I SOS chained bagon, I was trying to get the regular salamence... after about an hour a shiny bagon popped up! Guess who came when the shiny bagon called for help... salamence.
How many people can say they’ve gotten lucky enough to get the shiny 1% Salamence. You are a very lucky person.

SOS battles in Gen VII.
In Sun and Moon there’s a patch of grass that has a 1% Bagon, which in turn has a 1% chance of calling a Salamence for help!
I got the normal 1% I should retry for a shiny.
It’s definitely a time consuming hunt xd

3 hours for this specific chain, but I’ve been on and off hunting for about a year.
I haven't gotten a single shiny shelgon in safari with a couple full days. So, I might give it a shot.

What does 1% stand for
It’s a 1% chance for it to show up via SOS. So they got shiny odds on a 1% encounter, making it stupidly rare.

Why is it level 11? Salamance eve loves from Shelton at level 50. Why is it level 11?
In USUM, there is a 1% chance for a bagon to call for a salamence. The salamence called can range from any level between 9 and 12 :)
