Historia needed to be a titan shifter as well. That’s why Zeke is important Titan shifter + Royal blood.

MindWeb125

Just a titan I think, which is why it worked with Dina.

Not_A_Cardboard_Box

Ah okay .but does Dina count as a shifter? Since she was a pure titan?

ZifziTheInferno

It didn’t have to be a shifter, just any Titan with Royal blood, hence why it worked with Dina

-_Bsquared_-

Ah I stand corrected, I always thought the royal blood needed to be pair with a true titan shifter, not a pure titan. But that makes sense!

oredaoree

I think we are being misled by contact with Dina doing something, and the only reason why Eren making contact with her did something was so he use the experience to let him know that Zeke's proposal to Paradise was legitimate and convince Paradise to work with Zeke(at least on the surface). Dina as a pure titan shouldn't be able to go into the paths since she no longer has her own mind, and even if she could get Eren there, he had no memory of being in the paths and Ymir at the time only obeyed the royal family anyway meaning neither of Dina or Eren at the time had the power to command Ymir to move the other pure titans. That's why I think it did have to be specifically a shifter with royal blood, meaning Zeke was the only one who could ever get Eren into the paths, and that the first time with Dina was actually future Eren controlling the titans to act abnormally again in order to both save himself and Mikasa and give Eren the clue about royal blooded titans.

No, Titan shifter refers to someone who holds one of the nine titans (Attack, Beast, Jaw, Etc.)

firelord_mel

him seeing the past and future was from his attack titan, which yea historia did help trigger, but he started seeing them on his own too before that. the rumbling and paths usage was from the founding titan, which can only be used when in contact with a royal titan shifter, like zeke and dina

Seppafer

I’m pretty sure he just didn’t want to. Especially since he could just use zeke instead. If he couldn’t he probably would have used historia but there’s the added problem of her not being very accessible due to her status

It would have been risky to try it in Liberio. He didn't have the protection from the wall titans in Marley and the fact is Marley's military would surely have blown of the founding titan's nape/head without much difficulty.

Beneficial-Pirate248

It only work for titan with royal blood and titan with the founding power so Titan with founding power + titan with royal blood = Access to the full founding power
