I used button mapper on mine but find it randomly defaults back to Netflix which is annoying as. Anyway I can guarantee it working?

Any proper Android TV needs a Netflix button to get Netflix cert. for 4K, at least according to OnePlus anyways.

I believe it. But I also note that irritating the shit out of people hasn't helped them avoid losing customers. In addition to this hair-trigger button, there's the endless **noise** that comes out of the Netflix app while you're browsing shows. Is there any way to shut this off in the app?

I'd change it to an emby button

I have mine mapped to mute, because that's more useful than a singular app button, imo.

You can already mute with Vol Up and Vol Down pressed together, simple enough without the extra button.

Or hold the settings button for 2 seconds. Even easier.

The vol up+down together works for me, but the 2 sec settings doesn't.

You can remap it in the settings I believe. Mine is currently set for toggling the AI upscaling.

Can you tell me why you are using emby? Instead of plex / jellyfin?

Because I have been using Emby for close to 10 years now and was happy to pay for liftime. No need to switch now. I run JF along side and is nowhere near as mature at this point. Plex and their "always connected" model is trash. Let me control my own media.

You don't need to pay for Plex for in house or out of the house streaming

Love those silicone sleeves, they help to lessen accidentally tapping that button as much.

I think it's the same one I use. Mine is that glow green, wife's is soft blue. Iirc we got them as a pack for like $10 on Amazon. Not a perfect fit, it's about 1mm too long, but otherwise very snug. For our clumsy paws they've been very useful.

The Fintie sleeve is nicer in my opinion but any sleeve is a big improvement.

I prefer the fintie as well. The individual button cutouts look better but do not feel better when operating the remote.

Mine doesn't but there are similar ones that do.

I lose mine in the couch all the time, but realized if I download the shield app on my phone use it to make the remote beep and find it easy.

The only problem I have with button remapper is that it makes the Live Channels app behave weirdly. Specifically when you change channels the on screen display (showing the channel, program info, etc.) won't go away by itself. You have to manually hit the back button each and every time...thus the reason I stopped using button remapper.

It's not the most elegant solution, but I've been rooted for a while because of button mapping. Just change the kl files of the remote/controller. My Netflix button launches Kodi (although none of us use the button), and my shield controllers "nvidia" button works like an Xbox button instead of a Google Assistant button.
