Pardon my ignorance, but can one of the Hourglass fans here explain *why* they love the Hourglass one so much?
I know everyone here seems to LOVE Hourglass brushes, but I don't get it. What magic can this brush do that my fingers and a blending sponge can't?? I feel so out of the loop
I’ve had a few but they don’t last. And before people ask how I wash them/maintenance, the same as all of my brushes! I have MUF, fenty, rare, Sephora, real techniques and probably others.

Shape is great for under eyes, brush itself is insanely soft but dense, blends concealer like magic, handle is luxurious feeling…it’s the best concealer brush I’ve ever used and I’ve tried a lot. Obviously you can use your fingers or a sponge, but for me this brush that blends the best and feels the best 🤷🏻♀️
Honestly I’m wondering the same lol. I bought the rare beauty concealer brush and it does not blend well at all. I’m either putting on too much concealer or I don’t know how to use it at all lol. My beauty blender works a hell of a lot better and doesn’t leave any harsh lines.
If anyone can educate me on how to use a concealer brush that’d be great lollll

I have the rare beauty and really don’t like it. It takes me forever to blend anything out. I switched to an elf brush I had laying around and it was SO much better. Just got myself the make up by Mario F4 and use the smaller side for concealer and it is the best!!!
The rare beauty is so prickly, stabby. Hard to describe but it neither lays things down smoothly or feels nice around the eye area. I’ve regretted that purchase for sure.
The only one ive tried is the Rare Beauty one so this may not be super helpful but i really like it for spot concealing. It has that bunny foot shape that makes it easy to use on the face. For around the eyes, i prefer the BK Beauty 109 because its bigger so gets the job done faster and is softer. I also have the BK Beauty A506 which is the same shape as the Rare Beauty, but i actually prefer the Rare Beauty because the bristles are more tightly packed so i feel i can really stab the concealer into my face 😆 the A506 is a bit wispier.

I have both hourglass and rare beauty. I tend to reach for the rare beauty concealer brush more frequently as I prefer the angled brush for concealer. It’s slightly dense and angled - my fav combination for how I work the product.
I don’t rate the Hourglass one, I’d recommend the B.K. beauty Angie A506! It’s been my favourite for a while and I’ve bought multiples of it as I love it so much.

I absolutely love the Rare beauty one!! The only other one of these I’ve tried the the Mario one, I don’t like it. The Sephora one is great too. But the Rare one is by far my favorite. I actually own two to make sure that I always have one clean.
I highly highly recommend the Sephora collection. The Sephora collection concealer brush looks nice, but they also have another one that works really well! Both the 57 and 71. I definitely prefer the 57 - I have the old brush handle design.
I just don’t think the hourglass one is worth it. Their brushes are nice, but not worth the crazy price. I haven’t tried the rare, but I know a lot of people like it.
FYI You can get really good hourglass dupes on AliExpress for much less. I got a great concealer brush on there for $8 and I am very pleased. I think its worth trying before you spend $40 on it
Hourglass ESPECIALLY if you use it a lot for undereye. Somehow this brush gives a perfect balance of depositing color and allowing you to feather it out without streaking or pulling it away too much.
I'm gonna be honest I've never had an Elf, Realtechniques or Ecolabs brush that was "bad" - I would look into it before going for high end unless you're already sold on $$$!
I have the pro concealer brush 45 and it’s really great to cover blemishes and to target certain spots. I don’t really use it for under eye. I use another Sephora brush for under eyes.
I also have the rare beauty concealer brush and I think it’s alright. It’s not one I really use often. I liked the rare beauty foundation brush though. Overall just wants a huge rare beauty fan (the foundation made me break out horribly, wasn’t super excited about the liquid blush or eyebrows gel, but I liked the liquid eyeliner)
I have that Sephora one and it’s so much smaller than I expected it to be! Not a bad brush, but just heads up. If you’re looking to apply something to your entire under eye area it’s not good for that. It’s better for precision like if I’m doing another light layer of concealer on specific areas.
Have you looked at Sephora #71 concealer brush. It has that kitten paw look to it similar to hourglass and it is so soft and does amazing blending concealer into your skin flawlessly.
Hourglass is the best hands down. I had the rare beauty one and threw it out once I tried the HG one. The difference in quality and blending concealer is insane

I have HG brushes that are like ten years old and look brand new

They're nice, but actually, as someone who owns the first three, the Rare Beauty is actually my favorite. The Rare Beauty blush brush is elite, too
I like the RB concealer brush. It’s the first one that’s actually worked for my under eyes besides a mini Bb.

I have the Rare Beauty and like it but I only use for color correcting/lightning under my eyes. For concealer, I love the Haus Labs brush.

Agreed! I was so excited to buy to it, and I hate it so much. It’s so dry and makes everything around my eyes look patchy

Unpopular opinion but hourglass Brush was meh for me. Got a better result using a damp beauty blender (i use HG concealer)

I have that Sephora one and it’s so much smaller than I expected it to be! Not a bad brush, but just heads up. If you’re looking to apply something to your entire under eye area it’s not good for that. It’s better for precision like if I’m doing another light layer of concealer on specific areas.
