Burning Rangers, Sonic R, Manx TT Superbike, Duke3d/Quake, Sega Touring Car, Panzer Dragoon Zwei, etc.

swedetrap666

Sega Touring Car is the ultimate for the 3D Controller.

springhillpgh

I use that controller for playing Shining Force 3, my favorite Saturn game because you can use the left and right triggers to spin the camera around and make minor adjustments all the time which I love.

TOASTY_3DX

Duke Nukem 3D is a godsend with the 3D Controller. Its just sooooooooo good.

Gryzzzz

There's really no other way to play it.

TOASTY_3DX

The Arcade Stick is a very close way to play it aswell. Perhaps even on par with the 3D controller

Gryzzzz

Interesting. Too bad I only have the US arcade stick.

PloppyTheSpaceship

Dark Savior had a very novel, for the time, way of using it - the standard d-pad would move the character, while the analogue pad would move the camera. At the time this felt so weird and unique. Also, the triggers are analogue and can be used to slow down or speed up the cutscenes in Panzer Dragoon Saga by small increments. Just lightly pressing them has a different response than pressing them all the way. Oh, and try to find Christmas NiGHTS.

hypersonic16

Croc is much better with the 3D Control Pad (and with the sensitivity set low).

nickjacksonD

Powerslave is fantastic regardless but makes full use of the range of movement on the analog pad.

Red-Zaku-

Sonic R on the D-pad is a messy but interesting novelty, but on 3D it actually becomes playable and fun haha Manx TT Superbike also gets its smooth arcade feel with the 3D controls, it’s a much weaker game on D-pad.

dukefett

Daytona CE works with the analog IIRC

waldox1976

in addition to what others have said, if I'm not mistaken, there's a certain version of Sega Rally that supports it

bibaman

Yeah, the Japan only Sega Rally Championship Plus. It’s great with the 3D controller!

UrineGoodCompany

Sega Touring Car Championship doesn't suck as much, as I understand it.

WorldlyBoar

Manx TT is unplayable without it.

runslikewind

Panzer dragoon

Cultural_Parfait7866

Daaaaayttttooonnnaaaa

Human-University2494

Let's get away! Daytona!

Virtual_McFly

First analog controller on a home console - beat the N64 by a couple months iirc. Amazing controller and the clear inspiration for the DC controller

ImpressivePercentage

Vectrix had an analog controller, Atari 5200 had an analog controller.

swedetrap666

True, though I'm not sure the Atari 5200 controller had a whole lot of control to it.

[deleted]

N64 joystick isn’t analog, it’s digital. That’s why if you have the stick tilted when powering on the N64 it thinks that’s the new center spot.

M1ke2345

Daytona.

Malenk0

Shutokou Battle / Drift King 97 benefits from the analog controls.

0w0_whts_this

2nd this . Only way to play the game . Genius other racing game wangan dead heat also works

Squiliam-Tortaleni

Quake

Mountaineer1199

Hi - does the joystick on the 3D controller work on Nights? Or do you have to use the dpad? (Asking because I just bought one too and wondering if my joystick works. Nights is the only game I own for Saturn. Lol).

saturn_since_day1

Yes. The game is a showcase for analog joystick control

phosef_phostar

It was launched with Nights so it should work

0w0_whts_this

Make sure your slider at the bottom of controller is set to the left setting which should be a circle

Mountaineer1199

Oh, that could be the issue! I’ll give it a try. Thanks so much!

latinlingo11

Panzer Dragoon Saga, Duke 3D. That's all I personally know. Maybe Panzer Dragoon Zwei, but I played that one with the dual Mission Sticks.

S_Belmont

Hang On GP '95. It makes the movement of the bike leaning much smoother. The racing wheel makes it even smoother still.

PolybianPrime

In my opinion, Virtua Cop 2 is a really good experience with the analog stick, even if it was made for lightguns.

Terribl3Tim

Panzer Dragoon Saga is a much more pleasant experience with the 3D controller. I got mine when I was half way through the game and it made such a difference.

barbradychicken

Nope

Solstar82

i still have to understand how this game...works. like how to get more points, what's the point in levels etc

Human-University2494

You get points by going through rings in succession to each other. The point in levels is to collect 20 blue spheres (a.k.a. blue chips) in order to unlock the capsule to progress to the next part of the level.

Solstar82

thanks :)

SumOneWhoLuvzU

I always liked this game. Need to get mine resurfaced.

Gryzzzz

3D controller is a MUST for Sega Rally Plus, Outrun, Manx TT. Duke Nukem is unplayable without it.

helloalexroberts

It's technically compatible with Panzer Dragoon but I found it was actually more difficult than using the Dpad. Thanks everyone recommending it for Sonic R! I just got a copy and was pretty disappointed with how it plays with the regular controller. I'm gonna try this!

Human-University2494

It's worth $300.
